CaptainCaveman · 13/02/2008 20:36

Shame on you dizzy for devouring those donuts. If they are making you embarassed, allow me to come and relieve you of them......

Hazie - we are due on same day, so I too am thinking that 13+6 is not too early to feel movements or 'flutterings'. I am ridiculously excited that soon i will be able to feel baby Cavey moving more often. Felt ds from 16 weeks so not long hopefully!! Am about the same weight etc as i was when pg with ds so no extra 'layers' for baby to kick ripples through . Although dizzie's KKs should rememdy that for me......

It will be my mission in Florida to try one of every flavour. Will be sure to report back of course, I'm thoughtful like that me

TS how was dd's thing at school - and did the dress get trashed as expected?

dizzydixies · 13/02/2008 20:42

ladies, its only out of obligation that I am gluttony personified this evening, 4 of them are chocolate covered cream filled ones and I fear if they aren't eaten today they'll go off - that would be plain rude would it not?!?!

freely admitting to feeling a little over indulged at moment as kk donut with litre of fresh orange is not sitting the best lol
(green round gills smiley face!)

gigglegirl - 2am?!?!? you surely must be able to pull a pg craving routine and pack off dh to retrieve them?!?

HazieAndBaby · 13/02/2008 20:50

I know CC I can't wait for the first movements! A girl at work is 25wks preg and complains (in a joking way) when her baby kicks her ribs! I'd like some of that action!!
OMG have just remembered that we're going to Manchester on March 22nd and while DH is at footie (at Old Trafford), I could sneak off to find gigglegirl's drive-thru KK at the Trafford Centre!!! xx

dizzydixies · 13/02/2008 20:54

dh has just waltzed into front room eating a......................KRISPY KREAME

completely devestated. I thought I had married my best friend, my one true love, the kindest, most generous man in the world and then THIS??!??!!!

anyone on here a solicitor?

is this grounds for divorce?!?

((dd leaves in despair wondering if she is being a tad melodramatic and over reacting somewhat))

HazieAndBaby · 13/02/2008 20:57

dd, how could he? You're pregnant! With his child!! xx

dizzydixies · 13/02/2008 21:10

god hazie I know - with his 3rd child and if true to previous form it'll probably be a 12lber (not one person mention the kk contributions to weight of baby am in a fragile emotional state here)

can hardly see to type through the tears.......

gigglegirl · 13/02/2008 21:11

sadly DH can't drive or he'd be on his way there now!! Think the KK in m/cr will be nearer old trafford than trafford centre judging by map but i'll let you know when i find it!!

HazieAndBaby · 13/02/2008 21:15

Look at the facts dizzy: we live in Scotland and it's cold here. I suggest you eat as many as you need to in order to keep warm and also so that DH can't get himself into any more trouble by eating any further KKs! It's for his own good!

Thanks gigglegirl!

xx

dizzydixies · 13/02/2008 21:19

tis true, tis feb after all [grins]
you think I should call off the lawyers and stop sorting through the CD collection then??

HazieAndBaby · 13/02/2008 21:21

I think you should maybe sleep on it and see how you feel in the morning. That is unless he eats another. Then take him to the cleaners!! lol xx

gigglegirl · 13/02/2008 21:26

ok I have a name question - early I know but I get too excited!! Although I don't know what I am having I am kind of hoping for a girl! Anyway lots of my fave names have been taken by friends and family. I really love the name madeleine and all the nicknames that go with it but DH says he likes it but it is a no because of madeleine mcann - what do you all think? DD1 is Isobel and boys are oliver and daniel and I think madeleine goes really nicely! is it worth trying to convince hin?

dizzydixies · 13/02/2008 21:27

think you're absolutely right hazie, maybe I need to have more trust!

am off to bed pleasant dreams and will let you all know of pending singledom or not tomorrow, don't want to go crazy with hormones and make a rash decision then regret it

(truely believe have lost my mind now - quite possibly a sugar rush)

dizzydixies · 13/02/2008 21:30

x post quickly giggle - I like madeline and also maddison, equally pretty and may not have same connections for dh? there was a long post about very same thing on babycentre.co.uk names forum will look it up tomorrow and see what they thought, they're ruthless on there lol

HazieAndBaby · 13/02/2008 21:33

Night night dizzy! I be logging back on tomorrow to hear how things go, I'm sure it'll all look different tomorrow when the sugar wears off xx

TwilightSurfer · 13/02/2008 21:42

Strangely I forsee a meet&greet at a Krispy Kreme in our futures.....i wonder why ?

I've just opened my eyes from a TWO HOUR nap. Today was WILD!! Apparently all the mom's who "said" they would help with the Valentine's Party forgot or just really meant they would help EAT at the party. I dropped DD off then quickly ran a few required errands (including eating breakfast #3). I arrived 30 minutes before party time (to help). I ended up setting the whole thing up myself!! That included washing down grimey preschooler, oozy gluey, glitter filled tables. The party went very well while the kids were seated. The passing of valentines..................should have been dealt with in a very different manner. DD was frazzled with all the chaos quickly. These are 3 and 4 year olds, ladies..why would anyone think they could sit and take turns quietly while holding goody bags??? We left early. With a few more errands to run, DD managed nicely as she went through her entire bag of valentine's candy (UGH!). By the time we got home we were both POOPED so straight to nap we went. CC, the dress was a hit and didn't get a drop of nasty on it until she was with me afterwards eating at one of our favorite Mexican restuarants...darn dipping cheese.

Would like to report I'm developing a cold. DD started sneezing Monday and now my throat is beginning to hurt from drainage. IT NEVER FAILS!! We are always sick the week of our birthdays!!!! I guess that's good planning on my part this year as WE HAVE NO PLANS!!! I'm such a smart woman!

libbyssister · 14/02/2008 09:23

Morning

Giggle - my DH and I were talking about this...whether people would stop naming their children Madeleine for a while. It's such a lovely name that it seems a real shame. We came to the conclusion that actually, within a few years, whether she's found or not, people will start to forget. That's just the nature of these things. By the time today's Madeleines are 5/6 years old, it won't be in the forefront of people's minds (although I'm sure the Daily Mail will still be reporting it...)

Hey TS, you really earned your nap yesterday! I run a Brownie Pack and we made Valentine sweetie bracelets last night. Lots of sticky needles, sticky tables, sticky fingers, etc. I banned them all from eating any of them until they'd asked their parents' permission!

Buckets · 14/02/2008 11:51

LS - hurray for you running a brownie pack, not enough of you to go round are there? I feel the calling maybe one day (my mum was a Brown Owl) and my DD is on the list for Rainbows.

I've still got conjunctivitis and now a cold so the eyedrops are going down the back of my face (iyswim) and coming out in my phlegm! Have to keep swallowing it when I'm out and it just tastes revolting.

Right, I've got to know what all the fuss is about (not a big donut fan.) Saturday morning I'm going to see if I can find the Krispy Kreme donut of my dreams.

libbyssister · 14/02/2008 11:58

Buckets, swallowing your eyedrops sounds just lovely...

In our area, if you help out with the Rainbows then your daughter gets bumped up the list (because they're so short of volunteers)... so maybe you'll find your way in when she turns 5! It's 80% fun and 20% hell

TwilightSurfer · 14/02/2008 12:59

I was in Brownies then Girl Scouts...SIX YEARS of awesome memories. Things don't seem the same now. My friend's daughter has had loads of troop problems. Makes me want to step up too and show how it's done OLD SCHOOL!! Loads of camping, cooking, songs, and crafts...our troop was the BEST!!

My BF, who just gave birth two weeks ago, named her LO Madeline. I love the name. It's such a sad story about the little lost girl but I don't feel like that should have any bearing using the name. Now if you were considering the name Hitler, I'd probably have a different stance.

It was a night of musical beds. I just love when we're sick. DH asked what I wanted for Valentine's Day....SLEEP, ENERGY & A CURE FOR MS. He said he see what he could do.

Now off to strip bed linens.....joy

TwilightSurfer · 14/02/2008 13:01

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY

libbyssister · 14/02/2008 13:20

OK, I'm not going to start the whole Krispy Kreme thing again but I've just been out and they are selling heart-shaped, strawberry jam-filled doughnuts with pink and red sprinkes on top for Valentine's Day. I bought one for DH.

Oh and another one might have fallen in the bag by mistake...

I know what you mean, TS, Brownies has been 'updated' a lot, some of it good, some of it not so great. But we still do traditional stuff, map reading, raising money for charity, LOTS of games, and I took them on camp last September. It was the LONGEST 3 days of my life. But I think they had a good time!!

PetitFilou1 · 14/02/2008 14:01

Never mind the Krispy Kremes, I ate a whole packet of Lovehearts yesterday (will only bring back memories for the older mothers I suspect!) I think I now officially have the flu so I have decided I'm allowed.

Btw I think Madeleine is a lovely name, couldn't use it myself at the moment but I agree in a few years it will (sadly) seem like ancient history

PennyBenjamin · 14/02/2008 14:08

I have to walk past a KK stand EVERY DAY! It takes an enormous amount of willpower not to have them for breakfast. The Raspberry Glazed are the best.

The thing about Krispy Kreme is that one is not enough, and two is far to many!

Buckets · 14/02/2008 14:09

My mum never did proper camping with her Brownies, they'd hire a youth hostel-y type place in a nearby country park. Still plenty of nature and freedom for indoor city girls so well worth it. LS, did you mean to become Brown Owl or did you fall/get pushed into it?

libbyssister · 14/02/2008 14:17

I ABSOLUTELY fell into it. I put my details into the GirlGuiding website just to ask for more information and the next day (!) my local District Commissioner phoned me up saying there was a pack that needed help in my town. And it just so happened that the Brown Owl running the pack was 64 and about to retire...

(ahem) and when I say I went 'on camp', I mean we were in a wooden cabin thing in a forest with hot running water, central heating and a fully functioning kitchen . Mmmm we really slummed it
