Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Egg · 29/02/2008 06:57

Big congrats to Bessie and readytopop. Two completely different births but most importantly two lovely healthy babies!

Am chuffed as DD managed 7.5hrs between feeds last night. Would have fabulous if only DS2 had managed it too .

DS1 awake at 6:30 again today...

Egg · 29/02/2008 07:32

BTW, I spoke too soon about puke. Got puked on by DS2 last evening all over my leg, and then in the night all over my shoulder. I think perhaps I should just keep quiet.

Got one of my closest friends coming to see us today who I have not seen since LAST MAY . We have made four attempts at meeting but something has always got in the way (usually illness), so, fingers crossed, we will be reunited at last. And then it is THE WEEKEND!

So. Any 29 Feb babies? Come on girls? Someone has to do it.

Egg · 29/02/2008 09:42

So I give DS2 a bath as he smells of neck cheese. I get him all clean, I spend hours scrubbing stale milk off. Lovely clean vest, brand new clean bright white sleepsuit. Bring him downstairs and wave him around in front of DS1 saying "look who's all clean" and DS2 promptly pukes over himself and ME.

Aherm.

I think we might just crank up the heating and go naked. Except I have a friend coming today.

Lucyand2 · 29/02/2008 09:58

DD1 burst into tears when we brought DD2 home too! She's also been quite angry over the last week so I'm hoping it passes soon, I feel guilty that I can't devote as much time to her as I did.
DD2 is sleeping really badly during the night at the moment, I've been up about 4-5 times for the last 2 nights and I'm feeling so tired
My mood hasn't been helped by the news from DP that our car may be a write off. And DP's sister hasn't helped this week with her wedding malarkey

CountTo10 · 29/02/2008 10:50

Oh egg I'm sorry but I was absolutley pmsl at your post re nice and clean ds2 for all of 2 seconds!! That's exactly what happens here although usually it's a nappy leak!!

We had ds1 up at 5.30am having wet the bed this morning which he's hardly ever done I'd only just got back to sleep having fed and changed ds2 who spent the entire night snuffling with a cold and sounding like a little piglet!! I went to great lengths to tell ds1 that it was an accident and not to worry cause he kept sat there saying sorry mummy sorry mummy and I felt so awful for him!!! Did go back to bed and kick dp though. Amazingly that man apparantly only manages to be asleep when he's needed getting a bit fed up with being the only person allowed to do anything round here. When I questioned him the other day cause he got fed up of trying to pacify ds2 after 10mins, he just said it's alright for you, your a mother you've got breasts, it comes naturally to you can't say that went down very well. That means then only I can do the housework, cooking, washing and raising of the kids then does it?????? Methinks a strike may be on its way

Hope all those waiting to pop are ok x

scully · 29/02/2008 11:13

Hi ladies, and congrats on all your lovely babies Some of you may remember I was also due in Feb08, until a m/c in Aug.
Thx for your lovely message Egg, on the Due in Nov thread, you did well to track me down It was lovely to get a bfp this week, which is when my my due date would have been. Still early days yet but hopefully things will go well this time.
Have to chuckle at everyone's dh/dp comments, they must be all the same, certainly could be my dh you're describing

manamana · 29/02/2008 11:15

hello. big congratulations to all those with new babies and hello to all those with not so new babies - have read a few posts but not really had a chance to catch up on how everyone is doing. Sorry have been so slack at contributing here, ds2 is dream baby but my stamina still pretty low after cs and spd, i can walk now (woo-hoo!) but having not done so for past 4 months it is proving v tiring! Have had mil here looking after us which has been lovely and I have been doing a lot of catching up on sleep between feeds. Hoping that once I'm back at full strength and rush of visitors is over I'll be back more regularly.
Haven't forgotton all you with bumps still intact, am sending positive labour vibes for a v cool birthday today or for a spring -like early March one. I have 6 friends all in various stages of pregnancy which is lovely but a reminder of how hard it is so I am v v relieved that its all over and all I can say to you who are waiting is YOUR BABIES WILL BE HERE SOON!!!!!! and you'll be able to have lovely long full-bladder wees!! and be able to sleep on your back/front/side whatever! and be able to sleep soundly in between those nighttime feeds! Sending you all virtual hugs and will be back again soon x

CountTo10 · 29/02/2008 11:16

Scully, I do remember, thanks for coming in and what fab news for you, good luck with everything and hope you're well x

leesmum · 29/02/2008 11:27

Morning everyone

Wow i'm playing catch up here, this is what happens when you don't get on for a few days!

Firstly congratulations to all new mummies, really pleased for you all, well done wotsits,Pobletsmum ahha a baby at last, Bessie what a lovely name and sireedubs what a great homebirth with all your family around you...and as for "never again" we'll see
Lovemymum how are you getting on?

Is Samsmam having a cs today? what a special day to be born xx

Is anyone else on their way? and who will be next? princess or tyaca? place your bets everyone mothers day would be a nice day to have a baby on, so come on ladies and get a move on!

Ds2 seems to have caught Ds1's cold off him and has a really manky nose, he also had little bits of green in his poo (nice) but the hv said it's just mucus passing through, he is still feeding and sleeping so i'm not that concerned and he now weighs 9lb 10oz so he's doing ok.

We have also had some bad behaviour in our house too so i sympathise with anyone else going through it as well,Ds1 isn't being bad with the baby just lots of shouting and being really silly. Its so hard keeping everyone happy but me and Ds1 are making rice crispy cakes today to take round to grandmas house for mothers day.

I have bought my mum a wicker basket filled with plants off the boys and i've got her the Michael Buble cd and some pink champagne of me, me and twin sis have to know exactly what we're getting her because we allways buy the same cards!! must be a twin thing because even now if we are going out we have to know what each other is wearing because we have been known to inadvertently dress the same, and there's nothing more embarasing than 35 yr old twins dressing the same

Have a lovely wet day ladies

leesmum · 29/02/2008 11:31

Sorry scully we crossed posts and i DO remember you as well, great news about the pregnancy take care xxx

gingermumi · 29/02/2008 12:14

Hp you're ok tyaca? It's the 29th... your dh may be right yet!

ds is currently on dd2's bed, apparently watching ceebeebees (don't think thats how you spell it!). It's more like she's watching it so she doesn't have to do her work! she is supposed to be at college but has refused to go in as she is too tired due to upset with bf! FFS! She doesn't know the meaning of tired! see, teenagers are just as demanding as toddlers! When she's like this she gets clingy too!

Egg, am much like you with the puke, clean, wash thing, I change anything that seems too wet to be comfortable and get through loads of bibs and muslins (and i always take bibs off for same reason). Cenreparcs is cool, have taken kids there in past, try to get to longleat too.

Congrats to bessie and ready and good luck to scully - good to hear from you.

Update on us - ds has app with specialist wednesday.

Have to go now as ds crying for feed and dd2 wants help with hmwrk! Wot it is to be popular!

Oh, and egg, i hope you have learnt your lesson ! DON'T MENTION PUKE!

violeta · 29/02/2008 12:57

Hi all,
Had a quick glance through the messages, congrats to all those who've popped this week.

Little baby Sophie was born on Tues 26th Feb at 7.11 weighing 3.3kg. She is beautiful and perfect in every way.

Will post birth story when I get the chance.
xxx

congrats violeta! we're having such a run of girls. look forward to hearing more from you soon and in the meantime i hope you're getting looked after and enjoying life with your new arrival

OP posts:
tyaca · 29/02/2008 14:32

thanks for everyone's nice response to my late ranting. leesmum, if you're to take my money, i'm bcking princessllama oh damn! i'm banned from gambling... that was one bet i feel good about placing.

a 29/02 baby would be fab - one of surely?? bringing us back to odds calculating, the maths would dicate we have more than babies on any given day in feb. it would be nuts if the feb '08 thread didnt give us at least one MN leap year little one.

OP posts:
tyaca · 29/02/2008 14:40

more than 2 babies, i meant.

OP posts:
ayrshirelolo · 29/02/2008 14:59

Hiya all! Big congratulations to Violeta, Readytopop and Bessie123!!!! Look forward to reading the long versions later!! Oh ladies in waiting, sending out big big labour vibes to you all! i know it's no consolation at all, but it really won't be long before you meet your babies! .....
Oh dear, the toddler / newborn thing! we're not doing too badly, dd1 seems okish as long as she's getting the lion's share of attention, but also have the "cuddle" demand when i'm feeding Alex..... lol Egg to the one armed hug!! She's being a bit clingy though, and we've also had the night time yelling (not like her at all!) which i suspect is just her wanting reassured that mum and /or dad will turf out of bed to see to her too..... but also a bit of regression (she's "forgotten" how to climb the stairs, etc) which i hope will go away! She's quite fascinated with the baby though, which is a bit scary!
Anyway, can't really winge about my dh.... he's been a complete model husband for the last week or so but hey, it might not last!
I'm also a fan of the "muslin under the head" thing for pukey babies, easier onthe washing although Alex had a cracker all over the big armchair throwover the other day, also soaking me but managing to keep herself utterly pristine..... what a girl! A skill that might come in handy when she's about 19 i think!
Anyway, Rolly Mo has finished (dh is out collecting dsd) so will have to go..... lolo xx

rozzyraspberry · 29/02/2008 16:26

Congratulations to bessie, violeta and readytopop - nice to have more baby news. I can't believe that we are at the end of Feb already. I really hope those of you still waiting are ok and I think March is a lovely month for a birthday!!

Well DH went back to work today so this has been my first full day on my own with all three boys. So far its been fine actually. Unfortunately it was too wet to walk up to nursery so had to take the car which was a bit of a pain getting all three of them in and out of their car seats. Other than that I've been really calm and have even managed to do some baking with ds1 and ds2. I'm finding the 3 year age gap we've got between ds2 and ds3 much easier than the 23 month gap we had between ds1 and ds2. Probably because I'm finding it easier going from 2 to 3 than I did going from 1 to 2. For one thing ds1 and ds2 can play together and they are used to having to share our time already.

DS3 is not too pukey although I was holding him yesterday and ds1 asked me to lower him down so he could give him an eskimo kiss. He chose that exact moment to burp leaving ds1 was baby sick on his mouth. He has a sensitive stomach and was retching and didn't take to kindly to me laughing. He sees the funny side now though .

Egg we have also booked center parcs for June. We're going to oasis whinfell again but just for a long weekend this time. DH doesn't get to choose when his holidays are so he's off in April (when ds3 will still be a bit little) and July (when the prices are too high}. So with ds1 starting school in August we decided just to pick a weekend when he was off and go then. Really looking forward to it.

K27 · 29/02/2008 16:34

Hi all,

Just updating. Finally gave birth after quite a long labour on Sunday the 24th of Feb at 10.57pm. Our baby boy who was 11 days late weighed 8 pounds 6. Ended up having forceps to help him get out! Had to stay in hospital for a few days but am now home. We have called our baby boy Noah Jack.

Gonna have a catch up with everyones news now!

Egg · 29/02/2008 16:38

LOL leesmum at 35-yr old twins dressing the same .

Huuuge congrats to Violeta on the birth of little Sophie. There def does seem to be a lot of girls now after all those boys.

Had lovely day with my friend. Babies were silent the whole 3 hours she was here, except for having a feed each, then they went back to sleep. Made it look all so EASY and peaceful. She did say that she knows it is NOT always like that mind you.

DS1 had a 3-hr sleep at lunch and is happier now. He will prob wake up earlier tomorrow morning now but I don't care as I will probably already be up and it is DH's job to be up with DS1 tomorrow.

Just heard a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge explosion coming from the tiny dainty bottom of DD . Off to change a stinky nappy methinks...

Egg · 29/02/2008 16:40

Ooops forgot to say hello to scully! Lovely to see you over here saying hello. I spotted you because I always surf mumsnet on my phone in the middle of the night and as you are in Oz (I think) your name often appears at that time, and I saw you were the last poster on the due in Nov thread so I had a look and was so chuffed to see your news.

Right, there has been another explosion from DD so had better get going before it comes up the back or out the sides...
