on a diff note-my mum was sniggering yesterday at the fact that i'm longing for the baby to arrive, and how short my memory must be to think it would be easier out than in.-felt v cross and indignant. but ok, she probably has a point. but now am not looking forward to the baby being born as much. what do all of you who now have to deal with more than one lo think? egg, i know you said you felt you had more energy once the baby was out. do you still feel like this?

princess i have tons more energy now that baby's here and even though my sleep is broken i find that once i've got up in the morning you just get on with it

how old is your daughter now and how do you think she'll be when baby comes?

bluedomino - congratulations on the arrival of Clara. How are you in terms of the problems you were having in the last few weeks - anaemia etc - have they all gone now that Clara has arrived or still lingering on. I hope you're not having to deal with the existing problems as well as the new ones.

I agree about sticking to the one thread if everyone agrees. I'm very happy for the new mummies to discuss feeding, sticky eyes etc. It will be relevant to all of us soon enough.

My contractions carried on into the night (still there when I woke for a wee a few times, but didn't keep me awake). I knew I wasn't in labour cos they weren't getting any stronger/longer/more painful, so at least I was able to sleep. However, they had stopped by the time I woke up this morning. They've started again now but are not painful, and not that regular, but more than just BH. I've had a bit of blood-staind mucus this morning (not really gloopy enough to be a show) - sorry TMI , so things are still happening, however slowly.

In answer to your question leesmum, I'm 10 days overdue now and have tried walking, bouncing, car rides, hot baths, sex (great for comedy value!), fresh pineapple, raspberry leaf tablets, and at my midwife's suggestion, nipple twiddling! Won't be trying castor oil as I'm too scared of the risks to the baby, and I have mild IBS so don't want to upset my digestive system. I'm sure there are more things I've tried, but that's the list off the top of my head. Won't be trying sperm supper!

Good question about 2+ los princess - will be interested to see replies.

Hiya ladies!!!! Well, miss a couple of days and look what happens!! more girls!!! Congratulations to all, delighted we have more new arrivals..... it's lovely, isn't it? Feel like an "online auntie" with all these wonderful new little people arriving!
Oh huge sympathy with those overdue / fed up, etc and yeas, i think you do have m ore energy after lo arrives, you're not lugging around all that baby and water and stuff any more, the water retention begins to get better, indigestion disappears, and although you don't get more than about 3 hours sleep at a stretch it's actually not that bad!!! (well that's what i reckon anyway, but i hate being pregnant! )
As far as b/f goes, sorry, i'm a bottle mum too.... but have lots of respect and admiration for those doing it the hard way! i do sometimes feel guilty, but didn't make any milk after dd1 was born so had no choice, and nothing much to report this time too, so saved myself days of heartache and went straight for the formula, and you get over the guilt, especially after the second glass of wine! also gives dad the chance to bond with baby properly.... especially at 4am!!
As far as sex is concerned, well i have fancied a bit (sorry if tmi) but am still bleeding a bit, and tired! so although we have thought about it,and i'd be up for it as i had no stitches, think we might leave it a week or so! reckon it's better to get the first one out the way though, so it's not a big deal!!

Midwife come round this morning to do a sweep and couldn't even find my cervix - round a corner apparently. I've booked acupuncture session for monday in hope of some action. Typing on all 4s as baby is back to back - grr.

Big welcome to the world for the new little girls - congratulations mummies!! Good luck to those of you with imminent labours - sounds like you won't have long to wait now pobletsmum!

Andrew went to bed at 7 last night and was only up 11-12 and 3-3.30 then up at 7 this morning so very happy mummy! Sure it won't last but he does seem to know difference between night and day which is good considering how little he sleeps in the day - don't think I could cope with that at night!!

Hi All, well it's been a strange and very long kind of week. Feels like the last week of freedom before LO arrives - lots of tension building and every phone call and text is 'has the baby arrived yet?' can get a bit annoying, altho I should be pleased that people are excited for us. My due date tomorrow and not expecting anything really, after spending last 3 months with people and their expert opinions that I would be earlier and 'there was no way I'd go to the end of February with a bump that size!' I'm a little perturbed to remain unhatched! Had lots of tightenings and period type pains all week and if I go for long walks with the dogs my back kills and I suffer for it the next day. I'm due to see midwife on Tues (altho she didn't mention a stretch & sweep I hope she offers me something to get things moving along.)

It almost doesn't feel like I'm having a baby now, I'm used to being pregnant and have disassociated being pregnant and then having a baby at the end of it I'll be in for quite a shock methinx.

Bit upset tonight as DP has gone out with his friends - We live in Leeds and he has gone to Sheffield (about an hour or so away) for his friends birthday. He's not drinking so that he can drive back if he gets 'the call' from me. It's his friends 40th but I just kind of expected him to be with me tonight with it being the night before DDay. He was really mardy today so I've just left him alone and got on with my own thing, and then we had a row before he went when he accused me of ignoring him all day and then off he went. After he'd gone I realised I'm actually a little annoyed with him for going tonight, feeling like he should be here, even if the liklihood of anything happening is slight, it would be sods law. He was supposed to have his phone on 'loud' to make sure I could contact him straight away. Anyway, an hour after he went his sister rang me frantic that things had started as she had tried ringing him and he wasn't answering. When I told her he was out she was really surprised as was BIL in the background. They said he was irresponsible and selfish and out of order and got me to thinking that yes he bloody well is. So I tried calling his mobile to make sure he was contactable and lo and behold he didn't answer. I got very cross and started ranting and sent him a text that I would just call myself an ambulance should I go into labour and that me and my baby will do it on our own!!! Grrrrrr. He called me back a few minutes later as the text had made his phone vibrate in his pocket. it sounds so bloody juvenile. i think he's regressing.

I've been very lonely throughout my pregnancy really and am feeling more than ever tonight. I'm very angry with him for making me feel like this at a time which should be really special and memorable for all the right reasons. But then I'm not sure whats exaggerated by hormones etc. I've been quite emotional this week.

Now I've ranted I've feel a bit better. perhaps I'll post on the AIBU thread for the first time ever and then cry because everyone will say I am!

Well keep your fingers crossed that I am posting on here in the next 24 hrs telling you that my waters have broken.

Tallulah - like mitfordsisters said, can you make the most of DH being away for the evening? Light candles that he doesn't like or turn your favourite music up loud or something? Sorry you're feeling lonely.

Rozzy - well done to Andrew for sleeping so well. Long may it last! He's not even 2 weeks old yet is he?

Pobletsmum - Andrew will be 2 weeks on Monday (where has the time gone??) and he's slept like this the last 3 nights. He went down at 7.30 tonight so hoping for a repeat performance!! Makes things a bit easier as I am finding having the 3 boys a bit tiring and kind of dreading DH going back to work on Friday. Although I'm lucky as he works shifts in the fire brigade so is there during the day a lot more than dads who work a 9-5 job. Andrew very rarely sleeps in his bed during the day - seems to know as soon as you put him down. Have bought a bushbaby cocoon baby carrier after reading really good reviews on the product reviews on here and another website and so far I'm fairly impressed with it. Its pretty comfortable and he will have a good nap in it whilst I'm getting stuff done.

Tallulah - pregnancy can feel lonely as as much as your partner might try they can never completely understand how you're feeling. You can also get quite hormonal! I would sit and look through some of the babies things you've got for your lo. That always cheered me up when I was a bit fed up!

Sorry to those feeling pants and playing the 'waiting' game, i know how you are feeling. Due date looming but not expecting anything to happen, i think i will be at least 5 days over! Still nothing we can do about it other than moan and groan! Have had a good hot curry tonight, but other than giving me a bit of heartburn i cant sense any 'labor' type movement!!

Right off to watch the end of the Rugby, see if we can hold our lead!!

The plot thickens......

The brief story is that me and DP have been together for over 7 years. At the beginning of our relationship Dp was messing around with other women and there was one girl in particular whom he was seeing at the same time as me for over a year. It all came to a head and was rather messy and emotional and I often think I only ended up with him because I fought for him and perhaps she had more self respect. She has always been a thorn in my side, classier, prettier and all the rest of it but I'd kind of laid her to rest and thought that DPas in love with me and that we were okay.

We've been having a few problems sex wise, as in he thinks it was an immaculate conception because after we split up a couple of years ago for 6 months and I moved out and set up on my own and then he changed his mind and decided he did love me and had made a huge mistake he then moved in with me and since then sex has never really got back ontrack - I guess I was hurt and angry and my self confidence took a really knock after all the to-ing and fro-ing and infidelity.cAnd we haven't had sex since I fell pregnant). This evening as DP is away I take advantage of having the laptop to myself and thought I'd have a sneaky look at his facebook as he was being secretive the other night. As soon as I put facebook in the bar at the top of the page under the names searched HER name is screaming at me. I can't believe it and after all this time and while we're expecting our first baby. On the positive side I thought it was going to send me in to labour. I'm so shocked and I don't know how to deal. He's on his way home from Sheffield now and I'm going to have behave normally.

The other thing is I also found a text in tghe new year to some girl asking how her christmas was and that his was shit ending with a kiss. Shit shit shit. He's at it again. I can't believe I ever thought he wouldn't. What a bastard. IS this because we haven;t had sex since I fell pregnant? I should lock the door and never let him in the house again. God the day before our baby's due and I find out this. I;ve been ignoring the text message and the fact he;s obviously playing away because I didn;t want to be on my own. I'm such a fool.

lljkk - do you know i dont know whether or not i said a great big congrats to you on your new arrival?? if not, then here it is... well done and i hope all is going well for you.

tallulah - hey there!! i too am grumpy as hell. my dh has been v good and only picked me up on it breifly today. i kicked him out to the pub yesterday as i think we both needed a break from each other. he's been off work all week, which was great on monday when we were convinced baby was on way. less good now that doesnt seem likely and we been sitting in each others pockets.

i have had curry TWICE today. lovely lovely lunch and then took leftovers home with me for dinner ... when the waiter asked how hot we wanted everything, my mum passed the question over to me.... i was kind to my family and only went proper hot with one dish.

also had my massage which was so good that i went into a trance fifteen min in, and dont actually remember the rest of it. which is a but of a bummer really. just about to have yet another clary sage and lavander bath and have been giving dh the eye.

but - grrrrr - annoying as heck. woke up this morning with horrible pains in side of my face that i had all over xmas when i had some kind of infection. its like a part earache, part toothache, mostly agony. luckily have some penecillin left from xmas (yes - i know i should have finished course)

terrifies me that i cant even cope with this pain when i have so much more to come.

And thank you for your kind suggestions about filling my evening, I'm very good at being on my own (only child) and will also entertain myself, it's just I knew and have known for some time that something is wrong.

Time for my best ostritch impression. I have bigger fish to fry than to deal with his infidelities - maybe it will all come out with gas and air!

i dont suppose anyone is awake, or at least sad enough to be on their PC 's???

Anyway, i have been awake since 1.40 when DS (11mths) had a screaming fit for about 20 mins.....its nothing unusual TBH hes a terrible sleeper and often wakes...he gets more unsettled if i go into him so i have to just let him resettle.. trouble is, i then cant get back to sleep. Coupled with that i have chronic back problems and awful SPD, which means i cant sleep on back or sides without being in excruciating pain ... so i have to sleep sitting (as i am sure others do to!?) anyway... then my bum goes all numb and i wake every hour or so to try and change my 'uprightness'!! Ahh well i am hoping and praying it gets a bit better after the birth.
Am i moaning un-necessarily?

Tallulah sorry to hear about your problems and worries. Its not the ideal time to find all of this out and certainly you don't want to have to face it all (and have to deal with the consequences) but if it were me id be asking questions and demanding answers.... the only thing worse about knowing the truth, is NOT knowing and going through all the possibilities.... but thats just IMO!! Let us know how it goes.

Rozzy, whats the secret to Andrew sleeping... as mentioned above my DS is a crap sleeper, hes NEVER slept through the night since day one, and while hes getting better, hes currently on a wake up session of twice nightly long may your sleep continue

tallula things sound tough. my dh often says he'll hear the phone and then i ring and don't get an answer. makes me really cross and hormonal. we do have a signal that if i ring then text to tell him i'm in labour then he has to pay attention iyswim (also have 2 of his work colleagues no.'s in case) however this seems much bigger than just the frustration of not getting hold of him. things always seem thousand times worse at night and with raging pg hormones so try to remain calm. i do have a friend who found out her dh had been seeing someone else while they were pg with 1st. it was really hard when she found out but he had ended it and they are still together 1 year later and things are much better. i hope nothing is going on with your dh.

DD1 in the garden with DP and DD2 dozing in her bouncy chair so I'm attempting to catch up but I just know something will happen to stop me!
Congrats to all the new mummies and hang in there everyone still waiting! I think about you all when I'm up in the night and wonder how many of us are up at the same time.
After a week of sore nips and random lumps (one boob is going crazy making milk) everything is going well. Izzy managed to put nearly all her birthweight back on in one week and at 2 weeks she'd put on a further 11ozs which really impressed the midwife (and me when she explained average weight gain in 7ozs)
I cannot believe she's 3 weeks tomorrow I also cannot believe this will be my first week alone with DD1 and DD2, how do you cope with 2? I'm still trying to master my sling although DD2 is very good and will sleep in her chair for hours.
Her belly button has almost stopped leaking so she's in her tiny cloth nappies, I don't think they'll all fit for long. She's already out of some newborn clothes!

No time no time no time FOR A PROPER POST but read tallulah's posts in the night and wanted to just say quickly that if my DH looked at names searched on my facebook account he would find a few ex's of mine . They were the first people I searched for after I had registered. I think a lot of people do, just out of curiosity. I know that there are a lot of other crappy things he has done and he has the history that makes you feel even more insecure but he may NOT be messing around. When I worked I also used to text various male colleagues quite a lot, esp after a few beers, and if DH had read those texts they would have looked very incriminating, when in fact I was just a rotten flirt (in hindsight I flirted way too much but now I am quiet and unassuming and no longer like that...). Anyway, I do think you need to talk to him seriously but try not to go in with all guns blazing just IN CASE he is innocent...
