Twice!!

Pk616 · 04/02/2008 17:26

joosey - Right now, that makes me very glad that we have nowhere she could sleep! I'd probably hit her! (my temper verges on uncontrollable in the mornings!)

Sherida · 04/02/2008 18:01

Wow lots of people have had babies since I last posted, congratulations to all!

I'm not due until 6th, and I'm convinced baby will be late but I thought I was going into labour yesterday! I had a little trickle of water, extremely bad period pains, my bump was rock solid and my back hurt! I even had to take paracetamol which is very unlike me. It's all come to a stop now so I'm kind of disappointed and DH is really, really excited!

Hoping everyone else is keeping well!

jooseyfruit · 04/02/2008 18:02

pk-be thankful for small mercies!!

I wonder where Saskia is? we haven't heard from her for a while?

Pk616 · 04/02/2008 18:09

It's been longer than a while! She's due Thursday so she could well be sprogging!

tyaca · 04/02/2008 18:12

... saskia always posted quite irreguarly... it's lovemymum i cant help wondering about.

right - i am tempted to go to a meditation class tonight. what do you reckon? have been at home all day on my jones and need to get out of house again. only thing is that its a budhist-run thing, which always makes me a bit cynical...

DH woke me from my semi snooze earlier - his first q on phone was "what you up to?" grrrrrr...... am i bonkers that this annoys me so much? i always feel like i should be doing something. but what? i am fat and immobile and barely awake.

ok - off to do a superficial sly-style clean before making my meditation mind up

OP posts:
tyaca · 04/02/2008 18:13

fly-style clean, not sly-style.

OP posts:
Sherida · 04/02/2008 18:19

Ahh tyaca, go to the meditation! I've been to some Buddhist led ones and they've always been relaxing. TBH some of the chanting made me feel a little daft but I always left feeling chilled, and there was no pressure about religion or donating or anything. Just my personal experience.

omy · 04/02/2008 18:33

Thanks for adding me!
Just cooking dinner for DD2 and her friend and got a call from 16 yr old DD1 crying because DH is LATE for parents evening and all the teachers are leaving! (she has been waiting for 2 1/2 hours and is probably starving!) I should have lied about the time he needed to be there!

Poor DH will get an earful when he does eventually get there! He has been building all day and won't take it kindly - big row on the way!

mymissus · 04/02/2008 19:16

Hi guys

I feel like I am about to hatch a dinasour egg - this is SOOOOO uncomfortable.

So to ease the pain I have rented the third series of Lost and am working my way through. We don't have sky so I have seen series 2 but nothing since. DP keeps on saying "another episode....how many to go..." He doesn't realise I have only a week to watch all 26?!

mymissus · 04/02/2008 19:17

Oops welcome Omy!

saskia71 · 04/02/2008 19:36

Hi All,

I've just had five mins to call my own, so I popped in here to see what was happening.

I've had a baby boy since I last posted!!!

Elective Cesarean brought forward by one week, which took place on 21st Jan. Congrats to all the other new mums, and best wishes to those waiting. I am utterly in love with my new son.

A word of comfort to those expecting to deliver via a c-section. I am smitten with the procedure, would not do it any other way. Had no idea that the birth part could be so easy!! Just get the midwives to give you an epidural top up on demand. Will post details when I have more time.

Egg · 04/02/2008 19:45

Hello Saskia and congrats on your little boy! Another boy and lovely to hear that you have only positive things to say about your c-section as I am sure it will a lot of the girls' minds at rest. Look forward to hearing your birth story and funny that just today we were wondering where you were and up you pop having given birth! Woohoo.

princessllama · 04/02/2008 20:10

tyaca did you go? feel like i have been to meditation am so zonked-still infested with builders and band saws so having to really watch dd. we have the new nanny and she was big success-will have 3 half days of freedom, though i can't get my head round how she's going to cope with baby as well, prob as cant see how i will either.
congratulations expectingcat, great news.
what's happened to merlypuss?
hi omy welcome to the large lady club.
i had meltdown in johnlewis this weekend. i think it was a nesting thing-had massive showdown with dh over whether we bought bins with pedal on or not yes, i was a nutter with reflection. completely freaked the shop assistant out as i threatened to go into labour in the kitchen dept. shameful, esp in front of mil .
starting to freeze my toes off here as doors now won't be installed til wednesday. biggest prob is with lo as she goes blue with cold when feed her in kitchen but she makes big mess so don't want her eating anywhere else.
starting to get vivid imagination of going into labour surrounded by portugese workmen too.
just waiting for dh to come back with tonights nutritious take away before feint with hunger-maybe lo will be born with extensive palate from all the diff take aways it has eaten

LOVEMYMUM · 04/02/2008 20:15

Hi everyone.

Sorry have been a bit quiet - DH was working at home so i lost access to internet. Am ok -apart from BP playing up. Had to go back to hospital on Saturday and again today cos BP is higher in hospital - but ok at home! No protein in urine and feel absolutely ok, so have been told to monitor BP at home 2x daily.

Welcome to all those babies born in the last few days. My LO is no longer breech, so i had better start thinking of a birth plan as a c-section may not be happening.

Agree with Egg about wishing DH would look at what needs doing instead of me having to prompt him. Never mind - he does it when asked (but is surprised when i've run tumble
dryer twice in one day ).

Arhian - good luck with house move.

PK - why are you carrying MIL's shopping?

LOVEMYMUM · 04/02/2008 20:21

Hi Princess.

I was also feeling short-tempered on Saturday morning - not irritated, just irritable!

I hope that the builders get a move on with work on your house.

Have told DH that i don't want his family re-arranging ANYTHING in the baby's room if i am kept in hospital. My SIL put crockery away in my kitchen when we were on honeymoon. I didn't mind cos she arranged for a cleaner to clean the house and boy, did it need cleaning! (I didn't move in till after we were married.) But i can't help thinking that they would rearrange LO's room cos they think their way may be better, based on their experience. Am probably worrying about nothing.

LOVEMYMUM · 04/02/2008 21:43

Hi Tyaca.

Am also a member of the "nap during day, not at night club", maybe cos I have bedroom window open during the day and DH isn't getting up to go to toilet.

Have got hospital bag ready (ok, two bags) but need to re-check them as i have just thrown things into them as opposed to packing. I didn't want to wash any new baby-clothes until after my 36 week scan (had scan to see if LO had turned - she has) cos i was scared of bad news. Have now washed everything and feel ready for LO.

When you say "dicing with fate", do you mean in terms of bringing labour on?

LOVEMYMUM · 04/02/2008 21:53

(Wish i could post all in one go - but pregnancy is rubbish at retaining info!).

Bessie - how are you enjoying maternity leave? I found it odd at the beginning, not having to go to work.

Tyaca - I find it hard to sit down and not do anything, so have bought a tapestry kit. My mother may end up finishing it for me!

ayrshirelolo · 04/02/2008 22:08

Hi ladies, hope everyone is ok! Congratulations Saskia, let us know more details!!!
Welcome Omy, good to have another person to moan to about my lazy womb!! Hope dh accepts his well deserved ear bashing with good grace!
well nothing to report here, usual story, random twinges that appear to be making progress and then have stopped. Oh well, such is life! dh offered to draw lo a map, but not sure if that would work!!
My sister is convinced this one will arrive on Thursday which will be exactly one year to the day since my Dad died and i've been trying not to think about it as it's been the date i didn't want ever since i found out i was pregnant, but as time goes on i suppose i have to get my head round the possibility. My mum says she doesn't mind, but i don't want lo's birthday always having a sad undertone, iyswim. Hmmmmm.... deal with it if / when it happens i suppose!
Anyway, hope everyone keeping well, looking forward to some more good news!!! lolo x

Jo9977 · 05/02/2008 01:50

Congratulations saskia! Fantastic news!!!

princessllama · 05/02/2008 05:03

lovemymum that's fantastic news that the baby has turned. must be alot to get your head round, adjusting to new birth plan etc when before you knew exactly when it was going to happen etc. completely understand what you mean about the moving things round syndrome, right now the thought would send me into orbit (if i had a baby's room ready!)
congratulations saskia, looking forward to hearing the weight and name etc.
lolo, i know it's sad, but slight comedy element of you walking round with your legs together the whole of thursday like an emperor penguin. babies often come in night too don't they so maybe it will cross over thurs into friday-would only need to be by a minute. will keep my fingers crossed for you.
am getting distressed by all the dust flying around our house. can hear lo coughing in her room. when me and dh go to bed we have almost instant red eyes and horrible sore throats. i feel like i'm poisoning the baby before it's even been born. especially as the dust last night was all apoxy resin dust-can't face researching that online, can only imagine it's bad for you. will give whole house thorough airing tomorrow and hoover everything again. hope they fill the holes in our ceiling tomorrow.
had managed to calm down about moses basket after pk said just to hoover it massively but now getting worried again.
anyone else got any suggestions on the dust? does anyone know how long it will take after the builders finish to get better? starting to get eczema on back of knee but that could just be stress.

princessllama · 05/02/2008 05:04

hi egg if you're up by the way. hope the twins are feeding quick and sleeping well

Egg · 05/02/2008 06:51

Hello princess! Have had shitty night and been up for a lot of it, think I went back to bed about the time you posted, only to be woken again just before 6am. DS1 has been coughing all night and needed calpol and love, but the little ones have been a PITA, esp DS2 who has not had a poo since midday yesterday and normally has one at every nappy change, so I think he is a bit uncomfortable, so can't sleep, so thinks he should be eating. DD not been so bad but has been joining in a bit. Screaming in unison at 3am is not fun .

Lovemymum so glad your little one has turned . Nice to read good news when I feel crap, although am just getting my coffee ready so will feel fine shortly. DS2 is whimpering, it's only 2.5hrs since his last feed, I have brought them both downstairs so I can watch tv and go on MN to make myself feel better rather than trying to sleep while they whine.

Lolo so sorry you lost your dad last year . You will see from earlier posts that leesmum recently lost hers too . Fingers crossed you don't give birth on Thursday.

Princess not sure about builders and dust etc. Am sure your baby will be ok, imagine it would be more of a worry in the first 12 weeks but I don't actually know. We had great builders when I was about to have DS1 who used to hoover up every night before they left .

Right I must go and get coffee, and read Bean's birth story that I spotted earlier.
