@Laneymoo that sleep is amazing! Any tips?!

Mine falls asleep 8:30. Wakes around 12 for a feed. Wakes again around 3:30 for a feed. Wakes again at 5:30 and never really goes back to sleep again, if she does it's 40-60 minutes after spending 40-60 minutes trying to get her back to sleep!

Laneymoo · 24/01/2023 07:03

Unfortunately not @Eryr22 she had a crazy fussy phase where she was up all night around 6 weeks and when she came out of that she sort of got herself in this routine. We didn't try to enforce anything and we've always followed her lead, she did all this herself!

Laneymoo · 12/02/2023 09:47

How is everyone getting on? All good I hope!

greenerfingers · 12/02/2023 19:59

Hi @Laneymoo. We're going to be 11 weeks tomorrow! It's gone so fast and been up and down. Little one won't feed well but seems content. He just chews his hand all day and is dropping the percentiles massively. He made up the weight lost at birth and was doing really well then a few weeks ago he started fussing at the breast and bottle and it's been downhill. I'm back to pumping to rebuild supply as it's so low and trying to latch him but he lasts a few minutes with both bottle and breast. My current thing is to try a syringe and feed him with that which seems to work.

Laneymoo · 12/02/2023 20:45

Aww sorry to hear that @greenerfingers. Why do you think he started fussing with his feeds?

greenerfingers · 14/02/2023 02:42

I thought it was silent reflux. Doctor thinks the same. My letdown is pretty fast and he gags and gets gassy. I'm currently up with a projectile vomiting toddler 🤯🫣. Not sure how we'll fare through the night.

Laneymoo · 14/02/2023 06:41

Oh god, that's so tough! How did the rest of the night go?

CurlyNo2 · 14/02/2023 09:06

Wow where has the time gone??

My little one is 13 weeks this week. After a really hard start, we’ve nearly found our feet as a family of 4 and we’re doing great. Finally moved house at the weekend, not repeating that in a hurry.

Dontbeaneejit · 14/02/2023 10:28

We're ok except little one has had a wet rattley cough for 6 weeks now. Nothing will clear it up at all. Her chest seems fine and apart from the odd coughing fit where she brings up some milk she's a smiley happy baby. No fever or anything just a cough that will not leave her alone. So frustrating. Think we're ready for some warmer weather now!

Laneymoo · 14/02/2023 12:24

Glad to hear things are settling down for you @CurlyNo2.
@Dontbeaneejit maybe she picked up that virus that struck a lot of people over Christmas? Long lasting residual cough seems to be the main symptom.

Beanniebaby22 · 14/02/2023 13:09

My DS has been poorly this last week, fever, rash, vomiting, hoarse throat. Out of hours GP sent us to A&E, but they said probably just a delayed reaction to his 12 week vaccines and to give him Calpol…. He’s so miserable it’s awful 😞 he’s breaking my heart!

greenerfingers · 16/02/2023 17:06

How is your little one now @Beanniebaby22?

I'm just about surviving, we've been hit with the nova virus. I can barely move and my toddler is now on the mend. Little one has diarrhoea but thankfully no signs of vomiting just yet 🤲

My family all have that rattling cough which just won't shake off @Dontbeaneejit. I hope it gets better for you soon.

Congratulations @CurlyNo2. Finally!!

Your little one sounds like my first @Eryr22. Patience is all you can have. Mine would wake every hour/ two hourly and then rise at 5:30. Absolute nightmare. Have you got black out blinds? I found they helped a bit and trying to get baby out and about during the day so they can differentiate night and day a little. I also found with my first if he just made a little sound I'd go running but with this little one when sleepy I'm so busy that by the time I get to him it's been 10 mins or so and he's managed to self soothe to sleep. I regret always rushing to my first. I set him go to have bad habits.

greenerfingers · 16/02/2023 17:08

Oh and the rest of the night was an absolute nightmare @Laneymoo. Projectile vomited in every room of the house. I have so many duvets ready for dry cleaning and need a carpet cleaner to come in 😅😅. He really would not vomit in the bucket. He worked himself up so much that he'd panic and flap about getting it everywhere.

Beanniebaby22 · 16/02/2023 17:11

Oh @greenerfingers your poor DS. It’s awful when they’re ill and distressed. They just don’t understand!

My DS seems to be on the mend but he still sounds very hoarse when he cries. His dad is on abx for a throat infection so wonder do they have the same thing and it was just coincidence that he caught this the same week he had his vaccines. Who knows! All I can say is thank goodness for Calpol.

Laneymoo · 20/02/2023 00:03

Oh god @greenerfingers that sounds awful! I hope you're all 100% now.

Hard to know what your little baba has @Beanniebaby22 but hopefully he's over the worst of it now!

Beanniebaby22 · 20/02/2023 01:16

Thanks @Laneymoo he’s ok now thank goodness!

NotAdultingToday · 05/03/2023 14:32

Hi @NotAdultingToday we're great thanks, really enjoying being at home with my LO. We have her 4 month vaccines this Friday and then her christening the following Saturday so looking forward to that!

Great to hear your little fella rolled over, still hating tummy time in this house 😂

Beanniebaby22 · 05/03/2023 20:03

@NotAdultingToday Yes I think teething is on the horizon for my DS too. Red cheeks, lots of hand chewing and dribbles, random fits of inconsolable screaming 😅

rickandmorts · 06/03/2023 11:23

@NotAdultingToday aww that's fab he rolled over 🥰 how old is he?

Baby rickandmorts is 13 weeks on Thursday, where does the time go indeed 😭 it sounds ridiculous but I get so sad when she grows out of stuff. It feels like 2 minutes ago that she was a tiny newborn. She's an absolute delight though, the most chilled out smiley baby and is so chatty recently and makes the cutest little babbles when we talk to her 😍 I'm worried that if we have a 2nd then it'll be the devil as DD has been so good 🙈

smiles39 · 06/03/2023 13:01

@NotAdultingToday we’re all good and rolled front to back for first time yesterday too! Time is really flying by.

@rickandmorts I also feel the same about DS and having a second. He’s been such a dream, not a fussy baby at all, just really happy and chilled. I bet my second would be a terror to balance out how fortunate we’ve been with him 😅

NotAdultingToday · 06/03/2023 13:37

Awww @Laneymoo thats great 😊 i hope the injections are ok and the christening goes ok 😊 we have our injections tomorrow so that will be fun with the teething, i noticed today he has cut a tooth! 🤦🏼‍♀️

@Beanniebaby22 its so hard isnt it? I just went to put bonjela on him and realised its from 6 months! So i gave him calpol instead as he kept hitting himself with the teething ring 😂

@rickandmorts hes four months tomorrow, im not sure what he is in weeks im getting really confused 😂
In baby massage this morning he kept rolling hes really taken to it in the last 24 hours.
It is sad when they grow out of stuff especially as this is probably our last one so selling most of it.
You never know next child could be the same? Ds2 is a bit more chilled the ds1 but exactly like him when it comes to lack of sleep and moving early. Im really hoping he will be less hyper i cant handle two of them 😂

@smiles39 is so exciting when they do it isnt it? I cant believe how quickly the time has gone! This time last year we were all just pregnant or nearly pregnant!

We had fun last night where hes rolling over he is trying to roll over in his sleep and getting annoyed and bashing on the sides of the next to me 😂 when he finally got on his front he was soundo but i moved him as was worried and then he woke up 🤦🏼‍♀️ not much sleep last night!
Ds1 was in the bed too him and dh had a lovely night sleep 😂

@rickandmorts totally can relate to the sadness when they grow out of things. I have to make sure I get photos of him in my favourite outfits before they get too snug.
I did cry a little bit when the newborn onesies didn’t fit anymore, although I think hormones may have been at play there lol.

greenerfingers · 06/03/2023 22:23

Hi everyone, so crazy reading about all the babies and teething and rolling! Just yesterday they were born Shock.

DS2 is the total opposite of his brother but generally a chilled baby. He refuses to drink as much and is a really skinny little thing. At first I was worried and taking him to weigh ins etc but the last two weeks I've thought sod it as he's genuinely really content and just happens to be a tall slim babe. Big bro was a fat round ball 😂. We've had lots of babbling and laughing this week. He's officially 13 weeks today and now wants a bit more interaction but other than that still really easy going. I have a feeling he'll roll soon too (again big bro only ever rolled once and then didn't move again till he walked the chunk).
