One more tip @Cuppasoupmonster .... make sure you're only using water to wash yourself when you shower - no soap/bubble bath etc it will just irritate and mess with your PH levels down there. Warm water is good too, not too hot. Haha sorry if this is over kill with info - but I just know how horrible it is!

MamaMenna · 31/10/2022 16:42

Oo back Friday that's a good idea. Got my eye on a fleece pair now. They ought to give us a hefty discount for all the free promotion we are giving them!
@Skylark1990 that will be 2 girls for me, a sidekick for my increasingly mischievously dd 🥰

LauraA31 · 31/10/2022 17:38

Evening ladies.

I have a UTI confirmed by the GP and she has prescribed me antibiotics to start this evening- hopefully this pure the end to something 🤞🏻
A little bit more blood when i had a wee half hour ago but the tiniest spot and then nothing on the second wipe.

Having a day from my nightmares! Boyfriend got himself some KFC hot wings on the way home from work, and i ate one in the kitchen before realising the rest were seriously undercooked and pink…. Now im panicking about food poisoning or something happening to the baby 🤦🏼‍♀️
Thankfully i only ate a small one which was mostly batter and hardly any chicken; boyfriend polished off four before he realised anything was wrong! I don’t even like KFC and never eat the hot wings either, wish id have walked past the bucket on the side!

LauraA31 · 31/10/2022 17:39

@MamaMenna congratulations on your little girl!! 💕

Skylark1990 · 31/10/2022 17:44

@LauraA31 Sorry to hear you have a UTI - hope the antibiotics clear it up quickly! Also I've read that if the meat is close to the bone, it's usually Pinker and this has worried people before thinking it might be undercooked but actually it's fine - so you might not have eaten undercooked meat at all! Don't worry even if you have chances of anything happening to baby are very low.
Wondering - could the blood be from the uti? I had blood in my wee when I had one

LauraA31 · 31/10/2022 17:48

@Skylark1990 i did think this too, i mentioned it to the GP and she said that she found no traces of blood when she tested my urine but it’s just strange to me how the blood is only there after ive been to the toilet- fingers crossed once it clears up the bleed stops! I never knew that UTI’s could cause blood in the urine.

Also mum has probed and checked the remainder of the chicken (love that i still run to mum for everything hahah) and she said that they’re all officially cooked, just maybe not as cooked as i would have liked them 😂 seems that’s the only encouragement the boyfriend needed as he has eaten after 😂😂

Right mega catchup time!

@Peachesthecat Lovely to see someone else has a teenager about - ours (well, technically my OH's but she also occupies a gigantic place in my heart I'm so lucky to have her in my life) is really excited as she's always wanted a younger sibling and she's great with kids, think she's more appalled at the idea that someone was up for going near her Dad than the thought of nappies! 😂

@IvyAurora I felt exactly the same way as you at 15 weeks! it's such a weird time as you're generally too early to feel baby moving but haven't seen him/her on a scan in a few weeks so it feels like limbo! Glad you have a scan booked as I'm sure that'll be lovely and ease your mind, my midwife decided to have a go at finding his heartbeat at my 16 week appointment and she found it so that helped me immensely

@Deek88 I am 17+2 now and have been a permanent vomit comet aside from 2 days of the whole pregnancy, apparently we're unlucky but not totally unheard of - you're not alone!

@Emeal123 So exciting! We must keep in touch on our grand baby boy journey

@LauraA31 Bless you you've really been through the wringer haven't you - definitely feel you on becoming A Local in medical settings, I'm debating installing myself an armchair in the GPs with the amount of times I'm being carted off down there. As weird as it sounds I'm glad to hear you've got a UTI as that explains some of the symptoms you're having - I wonder if maybe you're irritated down there and it's caused some bleeding?

As an aside I'm on the verge of cracking and ordering some of these Love Leggings - is this peer pressure?!

@Melissa2023 thank you, it’ll all be worth it but I would kill for a chance to eat a meal without seeing the remenants in the toilet bowl afterwards 😅

The dilated pumpkins make my poor cervix feel sad! It got all the way to 10cm for nothing! It looks so huge there.

Well perhaps it was prep for your Vbac? ♥️ Plus, apparently the contractions are good for squeezing the gunk out of the baby’s lungs - the process of labour alone is a good thing, regardless of how they come out!

But yep it does make me cringe a bit imagining just how far my cervix must have stretched 😱 it seems impossible but obviously it works somehow!

Just got my first kicks I could feel outside my tummy 😊 and DH felt one too!

@Cuppasoupmonster wow, amazing! So early on! Can't wait to feel some definite movements 😊

DBS94 · 01/11/2022 07:38

@Cuppasoupmonster that's sooo lovely!! I'm 17 weeks today and hoping to feel some movement soon

ancienthouse · 01/11/2022 08:15

@Cuppasoupmonster aww amazing! I can't wait for outside kicks, DD keeps asking to feel the baby move.

Peachesthecat · 01/11/2022 08:23

Slight spotting this morning 🤯 I will not panic! I will not panic! 😬😬😬😬

AliceinSlumberland · 01/11/2022 10:56

Omg @Cuppasoupmonster how amazing! I’ve not felt anything inside yet never mind outside 😂😂😂

@Peachesthecat anything more this morning?

@LauraA31 omg you poor thing, fingers crossed they can get you sorted now. You can’t help but wonder if the bleeding is linked to the UTI can yoj even though they said it’s not.

Im just waiting for my 16 week midwife appointment, got my glucose test tomorrow which I’m not looking forward to. Has anyone found that the clocks going back totally messed up their sleep? I’m knackered in the early evening again and wide awake at 5.30am!!

AliceinSlumberland · 01/11/2022 11:07

@OttilieKnackered totttttalllly relate, I had to move my consultant appointment because of work and they were so so awkward about it, I ended up saying I was working away in the end! I’m not but if i didn’t work that day we’d have to cancel a big training day attended by like 50 schools, I couldn’t do that!!! They did move it when I said I was working away and of course I prioritise the maternity appointments but you just get given them don’t you and it’s like it or lump it.

Didnt get to listen to the heartbeat, bit gutted but know it varies from area to area!

Peachesthecat · 01/11/2022 11:08

Nothing but it’s all I can think about again! So frustrating xxx

Cuppasoupmonster · 01/11/2022 11:57

@Peachesthecat hope you’re okay. It’s so common but must be so alarming - can you ask for a quick Doppler check?

my loveleggings order has arrived! Will try on when I’ve finished work at 2.30…

I've started to get a bad back recently and I'm worried about how I will manage in the third trimester when I'm heavier. Does anyone know if we can use those hippychick seats or equivalent to carry toddlers when pregnant? I asked my midwife and she didn't know

Cuppasoupmonster · 01/11/2022 13:00

@Longbin how old is your toddler? I probably wouldn’t risk carrying them pregnant with a bad back tbh ☹️ DH is already doing all car seat/bath lifts for 3yo DD!

OMG the leggings are lovely but T.I.G.H.T! Do they stretch or shall I return for a size 14?? Also is it me or do maternity jeans not ever have enough room for the bum?! It seems to go straight from leg to bump band!

OP posts:
Longbin · 01/11/2022 13:05

@Cuppasoupmonster she's 18 months. I can't get around not lifting her, he works away sometimes and she tends to run off a lot! I had an operation in the summer and I only managed to not lift her for about 3 days which was harder work than just picking her up!

alwaysseeingstars · 01/11/2022 13:06

Did anyone else (in this pregnancy or previous if not a FTM!) just look obviously pregnant all of a sudden? My stomach has definitely been growing in the past few weeks (and I have a chubby belly anyway which doesn't help) but literally within 2 days I've gone from looking chubby to very definitely pregnant (think chubby belly still but with obvious pregnant round shape). Is this normal to change so quickly?! I'm 17 weeks currently.

@Peachesthecat will be thinking of you today 💕💕

Guys I saw on an fb group that some people are taking their wedding rings off now incase their fingers swell up too much. Is this something I need to do? I love my rings I’ll be so sad not to wear them 😭

I think I was about 39+4 when I had to stop wearing mine with DC1, baby arrived 41+1. Was a couple of weeks after birth when I put them back on again. I take them off every night anyway and if/when I go swimming so didn't really bother me.
