Icandy pram and the Joie 360 swivel car seat for us again. Ring sling and a couple of different wraps and then when baby is a couple of months old will break out the baby Bjorn one air carrier too, we like options.

That's the plan anyway, happy to adapt once baby is here if needs be.

Peachesthecat · 30/10/2022 07:45

Hi all, I really need some thought please ☹️ I’m 15 weeks tomorrow and started bleeding after sec last night. It was bright red and stil there when I wipe now ☹️ Does any one have any experience of this? Do you think the baby is okay? I heard the heartbeat on Saturday xxx

MamaMenna · 30/10/2022 08:14

@Gilm0reGirl any recommendations on slings and wraps? Last time I had a

MamaMenna · 30/10/2022 08:17

Close Caboo but found it too stretchy and want to try something different.

@Peachesthecat probably you've just aggravated your cervix especially as bright red, but i would want to call midwife and check if it continues.

Hi, I would call either EPU or maternity triage (whoever deals with 15 weeks at your trust) and ask for an assessment. Usually nothing at this stage but good to get checked. My SIL had the same (one off small bleed at 17 weeks) and they had her in that day for a once over. Also especially important if you are Resus neg as may need Anti-D.

Longbin · 30/10/2022 08:43

@MamaMenna I'd heard good things about close caboo but I won't get one now.
I had the free rider and I wasn't confident enough in my wrapping abilities to walk around without holding on to the baby! I might just use my baby bjorn mini if I can't find a wrap that is easy

Peachesthecat · 30/10/2022 08:49

Thank you both for replying. I’m at a and e now xx

Skylark1990 · 30/10/2022 08:57

@Gilm0reGirl which ring sling do you recommend? I'm keen to try one this time as they seem so simple! We have a free rider stretchy and Ergobaby 360 already which will definitely use too.
I also didn't like the close caboo!

@MamaMenna I found the same with breastfeeding, I was lightest I've been for the last decade the year after having DD 😂 I think I lost a lot of weight during the labour and birth somehow, because I was 78 kg and after the birth I was 64 🫣 no idea how it happened. But yes all the breastfeeding certainly burns through the calories! I had the most relaxed diet ever, had to eat loads as the BF hunger is real, and was still v light.

DBS94 · 30/10/2022 08:58

@Peachesthecat let us know how you get on. I've had bleeding after sex previously so a bit cautious about it now x x

Skylark1990 · 30/10/2022 08:59

@Peachesthecat hope you're ok! Probably just an irritated cervix but good to get it checked out!

Anyone else still not had sex yet since finding out your pregnant?? Haha we still haven't 🙈 for the first while it was due to intense sickness, then since that's eased we have had other issues going on like sick DD, me sore tummy, DH also has a cold now 🤦‍♀️ not sure when it's gonna happen 😂

DBS94 · 30/10/2022 09:19

@Skylark1990 I've only had it twice and the last time it was like something off the inbetweeners. I was so swollen my husband was too scared to go too far 😂😂 so we haven't since then

tattlytote · 30/10/2022 09:19

@Skylark1990 we did once or twice but having so much thrush I'm scared of anything going near it and setting the thrush off again 😂 also just don't feel in the mood whilst pregnant tbh!

Peachesthecat · 30/10/2022 09:21

Thank you xx it’s just terrifying after a loss in may. Hopefully as you said an irritated cervix.
we have had sex throughout and never had any issues so that’s what’s worrying too 🤷‍♀️
i found when I was sick it was the only relief I got! Xxx

Chocolat · 30/10/2022 09:52

@Skylark1990 yes we have, but it was really weird and felt so different when we first did but after a few times it became normal again, I think it was just the thought of pregnancy haha. Definitely a lot less frequently than we used to 😅.

DBS94 · 30/10/2022 10:09

@Peachesthecat I had light bleeding at 8 weeks after sex and raised it at my midwife appointment. She said the cervix goes through different stages of sensitivity as your body grows and changes so there can be times when it's sensitive and bleeds and then times where it's absolutely fine. If they can't find a reason for the bleeding ask if they can scan over your cervix to check the length also. Mine is quite short so I think that's often a reason for it being irritated x x

AliceinSlumberland · 30/10/2022 10:20

We’ve done it a few times but tbh I’ve just not felt in the mood at all! I don’t know why, it’s not like I’ve been really sick or anything so should be normal but maybe it’s a hormone thing.

Has anyone bought the jeggings from Love Leggings? Got my h and m maternity jeans on today and they fall down a bit, google seems to suggest it’s a common problem. My LL leggings fit like an absolute dream so I’m wondering if the jeggings would be good too?

I need to sort a pram, I need something that can manage a stony canal path so decent suspension but also folds up pretty small as it’ll have to sit on my back seat. Feel like all the good all terrain prams fold down massive!

Peachesthecat · 30/10/2022 10:22

Thank you for sharing ❤️ Just had my cervix checked (wow, that was u comfortable) and is closed. They can’t scan me today but she is goi g to locate a Doppler to check for the heart beat. I’m trying to feel cautiously optimistic 🤷‍♀️🙏🏻 Xxx

LauraA31 · 30/10/2022 10:28

Morning ladies, had another small bleed which lasted minutes this morning and only there when i wiped 🤦🏼‍♀️ it seems anytime i allow myself to relax and start to enjoy this pregnancy i bleed!

I did have a huge coughing fit this morning (and ive been coughing all weekend) and bled straight after so boyfriend thought it could be to do with that but EPU said no it wouldn’t have caused any bleeds..
Another bit of TMI, im really sore and itchy down there.. going to ring the doctor about the itching and the coughing because ive had the cough for over one week now…. Luckily no blood now, bleeding stopped as quickly as it started and was only there when i wiped!

We also haven’t had sex since we found out, any time i feel im getting back to normal i bleed again and it terrifies me so it seems it’ll be a very long time before we consider sex again!

DBS94 · 30/10/2022 10:30

@Peachesthecat was your cervix check done by a midwife/doctor manually? (Sorry not sure if manual is the correct work I mean by the naked eye lol). I'm shocked by that as if they scan you they can see if it's closed or open slightly! Deep breaths and relax, a closed cervix is a good sign x x

Gilm0reGirl · 30/10/2022 10:40

@Skylark1990 and @MamaMenna my favourite ring slings are Little frog ones, so pretty and easy to use

As for woven and stretchy wraps

Lenny lamb - woven wrap of choice when I wanted to use one

One way stretchy is my Ama wrap

Two way stretchy I can't remember as I didn't get on well with it but I'm going to try again, my husband liked the amawrap and didn't use the sling. We both used the baby bjorn though.

Peachesthecat · 30/10/2022 10:48

It was by a doctor manually. Really painful! I find it crazy that scans aren’t available on the weekends! (I know people need a day off but surely someone must be able to do it?!)

Peachesthecat · 30/10/2022 11:25

They found the heart beat thank god. How worried do I need to be? Scan tomorrow to look for cause of bleeding. Praying it’s just ‘one of those things!’ Xxx

Cuppasoupmonster · 30/10/2022 13:45

@Peachesthecat no experience but sending you love and luck.

Well I’ve jumped on the Loveleggings bandwagon, just ordered 1 pair of maternity leggings and 1 pair of ‘normal’ leggings! Hoping they’re as great as l’ve read on here 🤞🏻

Hi everyone, I'm new to mumsnet. I'm pregnant with my 2nd child , due 29th April. Finding out the gender on the 20th November. Already have a daughter who is 12! It's good to find a group of other mums due around the same time!

AliceinSlumberland · 30/10/2022 17:38

@Peachesthecat I think I’d feel really reassured if I were you, I hope you’ve had a relaxed evening and can rest ahead of your scan tomorrow. I have heard that bleeding post sex can be really common so fingers crossed thats all it was.

@Cuppasoupmonster yayyyy I’m so glad you’ve joined the club haha I love mine!

@Jadex92x Welcome to the thread, is your daughter feeling excited?

I’ve convinced myself I’ve got gestational diabetes as I’ve been really thirsty the last few days and now I’ve got a headache. I have PCOS so I’m more prone to it but hopefully it’s just normal pregnancy symptoms. I’ve actually got the glucose test this week so at least I’ll know.
