@Cuppasoupmonster everything was perfect! She tried to scan over my cervix and seen it was closed but she said it was too partly hidden to measure which is annoying but can't be helped!

We are having a boy 💙💙

Cuppasoupmonster · 27/10/2022 19:49

Congratulations!!!! 💙 A lovely baby boy x

@DBS94 congratulations!!! 💙 such lovely news

Pommy1 · 27/10/2022 19:53

@Cuppasoupmonster your class sounds interesting? Where did you find it? I’m moving soon so looking to meet new folk. The NCT is £270 so not sure how many to shoehorn in if they are all that price haha

DBS94 · 27/10/2022 20:33

I can't remember who mentioned Vinted on here originally?? But whoever it was thanks very much I'm going to need a second job at this rate 🤣🤣

MamaMenna · 27/10/2022 20:37

@DBS94 congratulations on your boy 💙

KennAdams · 27/10/2022 20:40

Congratulations @DBS94 💙💙💙

And I can't remember who said they have an Elodie, it's such a beautiful name and one I was really tempted by too. As far as I'm aware it wasn't common a couple of years ago and apparently now it is, it's so funny how we all have the same original thought at the same time and then those names are popular again!
Don't tempt me with the fleece leggings, I have enough!!

Gilm0reGirl · 27/10/2022 20:48

@MamaMenna ah thank you that would be me! It does get compliments from everyone and when we went for it everyone was saying it's one they've not heard before. Took hubby a couple of months to come round to it, he had a different favourite girl name but he liked it by the time she was born and announced it was her name in the delivery room. And yes the fleece leggings look so comfy! I'll update when they arrive, I'm so cold, will let you know if they are good and true to size.

Awwww yay @DBS94 welcome to the boy club!! How exciting 💕 isn’t it all starting to feel very real!!

Guys I’m looking for a bit of reassurance and before I say this I know I’m being silly but I can’t help how I feel. Went to put on my largest pre-pregnancy jeans today that I’ve not worn for a couple of weeks and they’re really tight. Like, won’t be wearing them again tight. I do a sport and my sport leggings are too tight too. I’m 16 weeks at the weekend but I’m a FTM and all the posts online about when FTMs started to show are people saying they wore there normal jeans and leggings until 20+ weeks. I’m worried I’ve just gained a lot of weight and it’s not baby, it’s chub!! I used to skip meals a lot pre pregnancy and was more active than I am now so it’s possible I have gained weight. Did anyone else on here start to get uncomfy in their normal clothes at around this stage with their first?

I’ve ordered some more loveleggings maternity leggings and some sporty ones too so at least I’ll be comfy but can’t help but worry I’m piling it on!

AliceinSlumberland · 27/10/2022 21:23

@DBS94 Ive got a Vinted problem I swear, I won’t buy new baby clothes now, if I see something I like in a shop I search for it on Vinted 🙈 I’ve got some serious bargains and lovely quality too. Plus we can sell it on there after hopefully!

Springblooms08 · 27/10/2022 21:27

@AliceinSlumberland if it makes you feel any better, this is my first baby and I’m normally quite small framed around a size 8, and I haven’t been able to consider wearing any of my normal jeans or trousers for a long time now, and I’m a week behind you! 😂I just want to be comfortable! Definitely don’t stress

PiggyBean · 27/10/2022 21:29

@DBS94 congratulations 💙

@AliceinSlumberland FTM here too, wore jeans recently and they're already starting to feel uncomfortable, feels so restrictive on my stomach area, and I've only just turned 15 weeks. I think I'll need to get some comfy leggings soon 😅

@AliceinSlumberland, first timer here too and definitely can't wear any of my old trousers anymore! I was a size 8 and am also 16 weeks in a few days, but now have a real and very visible bump! I love it though and so excited to see it grow 🥰 I've definitely just plain gained a bit of weight too - it was so hard to do anything in the first trimester that I think it's normal. It seems I've got a bit more energy now so trying to do more walking, not so much to lose weight but because it's good for the baby.

AliceinSlumberland · 27/10/2022 21:54

Ahhhh thank you guys I feel so much better now, just need to embrace it don’t I! I think trying to squeeze into normal clothes is actually just making me feel worse so I’ll stop bothering 😂😂

Chocolat · 27/10/2022 22:15

@AliceinSlumberland i was worried about the same thing 😅. I’m 17 weeks and my work trousers have been tight for a while. I left some in my cupboard thinking they’ll fit for a few more weeks but they really were too tight today. I also don’t feel like I have a nice bump and just fat as I am eating more than usual and not working out.
Need the weather to get cooler so I can live in leggings and jumpers!

@DBS94 congratulations 💙

AliceinSlumberland · 27/10/2022 22:24

@Chocolat I also don’t have a nice neat little bump, it’s round when I’m wearing Mat leggings or tights but most of the time it just looks like I’m living off takeaways 😂 Thank you for posting though as it is reassuring to think it’s not just me feeling this way.

Chocolat · 27/10/2022 22:50

@AliceinSlumberland the living off takeaways bit is exactly how I feel I look 😂. I have a knitted bodycon dress that I was hoping to wear this weekend to show off a little bump as I head to mama and papas for a look around but worried I’ll just look fat lol

I was in maternity leggings/jeans by 13 weeks first time round, and 10 weeks this timeI couldn't stand cramming myself into clothes that didn't fit anymore, I'm all about the comfort!

Hannah223344 · 28/10/2022 07:14

@DBS94 congratulations on your baby boy!! 💙💙

@AliceinSlumberland completely with you on this, I'm wearing maternity leggings all the time now and have been for a couple of weeks!

AliceinSlumberland · 28/10/2022 08:03

Ahhh you ladies are the best 💕💕

Can I get your advice on one more thing? It’s very premature but I’ve bought quite a few second hand bits from Vinted for the baby. Baby washing - is there anything I need to know? We use Fairy anyway because I have really sensitive skin, is that fine to wash baby things in? Can most baby clothes manage tbe tumble dryer or no? I’d love to line dry them but it’s practically Noah’s floods here at the minute 😂

MamaMenna · 28/10/2022 08:24

@AliceinSlumberland I found i could wash with anything and my baby didn't react, but I think it just depends and some babies can be really sensitive. Using Fairy sounds like a good start! My drier definitely shrinks things, I compared with a 3 pack of baby grows and it wasn't ideal because the feet shrunk and she would always out grow those first. But yours might be alright! Muslins are fine to tumble!

alwaysseeingstars · 28/10/2022 09:41

@AliceinSlumberland I'm the same as you and other ladies, FTM but not a chance have I been able to wear normal trousers for at least 3 weeks! Am 16+5 today. I've also not got a cute little bump, I already had a chubby tummy and sadly all it's making me look is more flabby!
Re not being able to hang clothes up outside, I have one of the Lakeland heated airers for indoors and it's an absolute godsend - I've actually sold my tumble drier since buying that! I just turn the heated bit on for 2 hours and it makes such a difference to the speed that the clothes dry indoors.
@DBS94 congrats on the baby boy!
@Melissa2023 it's so beautiful isn't it, I was so struck by how emotional I felt hearing the heartbeat!

PuddingBear · 28/10/2022 09:44

Fairy’s great.

I tumble dry all my daughter’s things because it’s quickest and easiest (and especially in the newborn days she was a very refluxy baby so we would go through her entire wardrobe, all muslins and bibs etc in a matter of hours so it was always on).

The only items I don’t dry now are jeans, cardigans and jumpers 😊

SIUUU · 28/10/2022 10:02

Hello everyone! I posted a bit on the previous post and I would just like to congratulate all the new expectant mothers. I am due to be a dad on 21st April next year and bowled over with excitement.

Someone recommended sniffing lemon to alleviate morning sickness, on the last thread.... It worked!!! So thank you to whomever that was. My wife was eternally grateful!
