Congratulations @Pommy1 lovely scan!

I have also had occasional sharp pains - pretty sure it's round ligament!

Anyone else getting REALLY vivid, WEIRD dreams? I have them every night and they're often quite disturbing or distressing. Basically nightmares. I always wake up completely relieved it was a dream 😅

DBS94 · 27/10/2022 10:58

@Skylark1990 yes, the dreams are crazy!! They feel sooooo real and I remember them so clearly the next morning.

Pommy1 · 27/10/2022 12:46

Hello ladies! Thank you so much @alwaysseeingstars @xalexandra @Chocolat @bluebubbles12 @Tubbytele @PiggyBean @Gilm0reGirl @MamaMenna @Skylark1990 - it was so lovely to see her grooving in there. I think she’s smashing! How exciting!

When are you ladies moving from back sleeping? I see pillows mentioned but thought we were too early just yet unless we are uncomfortable? Xx

Gilm0reGirl · 27/10/2022 12:50

@Skylark1990 yes my dreams have been horrendous since the stick turned pink. It was one of the reasons I was so exhausted, I've found taking magnesium helps me get a few deep, dreamless hours sleep.

@DBS94 exciting about your scan! Do you have an inkling if it's a boy or girl? All these gender scans are making me wants one 😆

I'm having one of those "I don't feel pregnant" weeks and it's making me incredibly anxious. I know it's likely the placenta has kicked in and that's what's taken away 99% of my symptoms but I'm just meh! I'm worried something has happened in there, I swear I have less of a bump too. The joys of pregnancy before you can feel the baby moving properly.

MamaMenna · 27/10/2022 12:57

This is interesting, I've no idea how much truth there is in it, but if you want to pick a more unique name this article is a predictor of up and coming names set to become less unusual. I love a lot on here, which is a problem because DH has a bee in his bonnet about going with something as unique as possible.

MamaMenna · 27/10/2022 13:00

@Pommy1 I don't sleep on my back, but I lie on my back a lot when resting or trying to get dd to sleep so I'm keen not to give it up unless I have to. Do we totally have to avoid our backs once however many weeks??

Longbin · 27/10/2022 13:01

@MamaMenna our top name is on that list! My DH is the same and won't consider a name if we have met anyone else with that name.

I'm the tricky one when it comes to choosing names between DH and I - 10yrs as a teacher means there are SO many names I would never entertain!!

Interestingly about that name list on the article, I know quite a few young children already with those names either at school or friends kids, so I'd say a lot of them are already popular. There are some lovely names on there! @MamaMenna

LauraA31 · 27/10/2022 13:12

@DBS94 so excited for you for today!!
I cannot wait to find out what we are having, two weeks tomorrow until we find out 😅

Im feeling much better today, ive not taken a single thing through this cold and it has been horrible rouging it out but feel much better knowing i have done. Taken a few days off work because i couldn’t physically go to work and be this poorly; plus don’t want to run the risk of picking anything else up whilst fighting a cold!

@Gilm0reGirl i feel the same this week; im 14 weeks tomorrow and ive lost most of my symptoms. I’m putting most of mine down to me focusing on the poorly rubbish week ive had rather than my symptoms!

@Skylark1990 yes!! My dreams are horrible; last night i dreamt that i was running from a man with a knife because he wanted to chop my hair off, it sounds stupid but it felt so real! Last week I dreamt the doctor wanted to take my veins out like spaghetti because id grown too many..
Im waking up every night with a new traumatic nightmare! Luckily my body has been kind the last few days and the scariest it got was the hair dream, but the others from previous weeks have been terrible 🤦🏼‍♀️

Cuppasoupmonster · 27/10/2022 13:12

Morning ladies.

YES to the weird dreams, and they seem to go on and on. Between that and the usual insomnia etc I’m knackered! Still on the promethazine as well so really groggy. I’ve just accepted it now, it’s unlikely I can come off the pills for another few weeks so just doing as little as possible.

My bump is a bit more uncomfortable now, the skin feels taut and pressurey. Thinking it’s time to start with the stretch mark cream.

On a positive note, I think we’ve come up with our name! Keeping it under our hats for now but will of course share if we use it ♥️ only because I don’t want to say it too much and get bored of it if you see what I mean!

Starting my pregnancy relaxation/hypnobirthing/yoga class next week which will be nice. Hoping to meet some other expectant mums that will be open to keeping in touch as I’m not doing NCT this time.

@MamaMenna we have an Elodie and if she was a boy she was going to be Arlo 😆 but our current name choices for both boy or girl aren't on there! Wonder if they will be in 3 years like now.

alwaysseeingstars · 27/10/2022 13:47

@Pommy1 I'm not sure exactly when you have to change but have definitely read that in the 3rd trimester you shouldn't sleep on your back. I always sleep on my front so am trying to slowly train myself to sleep on my side - really not easy though! Figured if I start now I may be more used to it by the time bump is too big to do it anyway..🤔
@LauraA31 my gosh they are odd, vivid dreams!!
@Gilm0reGirl how far along are you? I'm 16+4 and in the past week I've been feeling a lot more pregnant again after a while not feeling pregnant.. lots more bloating, burping (beautiful!) and a strong 'full' feeling really down low, especially after eating or drinking!

Hannah223344 · 27/10/2022 14:31

Thank you to the person who recommend Love Leggings, got my order today and they are so comfy, will def be buying more colours 😍

allfurcoatnoknickers · 27/10/2022 17:01

@DBS94 I get so anxious before a scan! I also honestly find them a bit creepy (I know, I know, unpopular opinion).

FINALLY got my NIPT blood test today after multiple fuck-ups by the office. Must have looked awful, because the nurse asked me repeatedly if I thought I was going to faint. Did not faint, and took a lovely walk home after my appointment. It was so nice to have some time to myself and take in the autumn sunshine.

Tubbytele · 27/10/2022 17:48

Thank you @Skylark1990 and the other poster (so sorry, I've forgotten who it was) for recommending the second baby book, I'm really enjoying reading it so far.

Hopingforluckxo · 27/10/2022 18:26

Hello! Took me a while to find the thread, I haven’t posted since the third one maybe?
16 weeks tomorrow, back pain has started! Need to get a maternity pillow.
starting to feel flutters as such but no actual movement yet. And boy I’m tired!!!
how is everyone’s Bump looking?

Melissa2023 · 27/10/2022 18:29

Hi ladies - got to hear my little boy's heartbeat for the first time yesterday - tears all round, such a lovely experience and much needed after the saga of the past few days. ❤

cheekysausage · 27/10/2022 18:31

Fizzy drinks in pregnancy, yay or nay? I write this whilst sipping on an orange fanta and suddenly thought oh my godddd should I be drinking this 🤣

KennAdams · 27/10/2022 19:35

Yeah fizzy drinks are fine as far as I'm aware! Obviously probably better to get the zero sugar ones but sometimes you just need full fat 😅

@DBS94 hope your sexing scan went well!

Yay from me. Full fat coke got me through the worst of my sickness, right now I’m having a can of Appletiser a day. Nothing else will quench my thirst like cold fizz. I don’t normally buy it or treat it as a ‘normal’ drink!

Tubbytele · 27/10/2022 19:41

@cheekysausage with my first I was so conscious of what I was eating and drinking worrying what will and what not affect the baby. With this one I've had proper fizzy drink cravings so have been drinking fizzy.

Gilm0reGirl · 27/10/2022 19:44

@LauraA31 I'm glad your cold is on its way out, it's absolutely rotten faving viruses when you're pregnant and can't take anything. Hopefully we will start feel pregnant again soon!
@alwaysseeingstars I am 14+6, that's really helpful to know you had similar happen and then it picked back up around week 16. Someone mentioned the uterus moves up around now and I definitely have noticed it as I'm not up for the loo all night 😆

I'm back on the love leggings website ordering the new fleece lined ones, I can't wait for them
To arrive so
I can be snuggly

Oh god! Glad you’re okay. A few people have asked me lately if I’m unwell Hmm no shit Sherlock! Always asked by people who had amazing glowing pregnancies 🙄

They are a little creepy I know what you mean! As are the stronger kicks when you can see the foot through your skin - DH will feel the kicks if I make him but says they remind him of Alien (thanks mate)

When is it we get our Mat1B forms? I’ve totally forgotten the procedure. Think I’m going to start mat leave on 1st March 🙂make it a nice tidy date. I have a strong feeling baby’s birthday will be the 20th so I really want a few weeks before that to do final chores then put my feet up.

@DBS94 how did it go lovely? Do you know what you’re having? 💙 💖

OP posts:
allfurcoatnoknickers · 27/10/2022 19:49

@Cuppasoupmonster Hahah, right? Nope, not unusually awful, just my usual green/grey pregnancy pallor, thanks though.

I'm just so weirded out by the fact there's feet inside me! And a skull! And during my previous pregancy, a penis 😂. DS also didn't so much kick as swirl/wriggle/writhe around, which just kind of felt like my insides getting tumble-dried. I generally find pregnancy a wild, pretty metal experience. I don't find it cutesy at all.
