Hahah @Lid88 sorry to disappoint but mine says girl and he’s very much a boy 😂

Gilm0reGirl · 21/10/2022 19:18

@Lid88 I never know which month to do for the Chinese calendar predictions. Cycle day 1 for the cycle I conceived in started in July, but based on ovulation timings I ovulated in August, so I'm never sure which month to go for and they give different answers for each 😩

Pommy1 · 21/10/2022 19:23

@Cuppasoupmonster that’s amazing!! Girl club!! Lots and kiss off love xxx that’s amazing xxx

Lid88 · 21/10/2022 19:24

Well I was originally told my PPH was as a result of my 2nd degree tear when I had a birth review earlier this year, which makes sense to me as I also don’t think it was anything else. I had a pool birth and it was very fast.

My midwife referred me to a consultant after my 8 week booking appointment and I saw them straight after my 12 week scan but won’t be seeing them again until 36 weeks. I wasn’t expecting them to say I needed the labour ward so I reflected on it and emailed PALs and a lovely hospital midwife rang me and chased it up with the consultant I should be under (not the one I saw). So now I can weigh it all up but I’m pretty certain I’ll go for birth Centre!

I did consider home birth but I had a really great experience in our birth centre and my body didn’t cope well with the blood loss so I think I’d rather be there for that reason x

@Cuppasoupmonster congratulations on finding out you're having a girl.

I find out on Sunday and honestly cannot wait to find out. Got not a single preference now as long as healthy but will be fun to be able to buy pink/blue outfits finally. Although I love neutrals and gender neutral I can't wait for some stereotypical colours too

Tubbytele · 21/10/2022 20:16

Congrats @Cuppasoupmonster, it will be really lovely and exciting for you to share with family tomorrow so have fun!

Get well soon to all not feeling well.

@Skylark1990 hope you're feeling better. Sending you hugs.

tattlytote · 21/10/2022 20:18

Would anyone be up for sharing potential boys names? We are in total disagreement over here. Types of names we like are James, Oliver, Benjamin... I like some less traditional too but DH having none of it. DD has a quite a classic but not widely used name.

Cuppasoupmonster · 21/10/2022 20:35

Thanks everyone 🥰

@tattlytote we had Jack, Leo or George as our front runners, although I also liked Frank (DH didn’t!). Girls we have a long list of ‘ok‘ ones but nothing we LOVE just yet.

AliceinSlumberland · 21/10/2022 22:04

@tattlytote I think we’ve settled on Elijah but also like Zachary and Jacob was a runner at one point, I love cohen and Isaac too.

Margo34 · 21/10/2022 22:27

@Lid88 @Skylark1990 @AliceinSlumberland the Chinese gender prediction for my DC1 in 2020 I thought was wrong but on having another look just now, I was going off my actual age not my 'lunar age'. Had to Google it! So it was wrong for using for actual age but correct for my lunar age!

This time based on my lunar age, it suggests I'm having the opposite gender so I'll end up with one of each. I'm team yellow so will have a good few months to find out for sure! 🤭

Last time I did a grand total of 18 old wives gender prediction things and no joke - half of them said boy half of them said girl 🤣

Margo34 · 21/10/2022 22:34

@tattlytote Sebastian, Benedict and Elliot are high on my list, also Xavier, Wilbur, Rupert and Rueben. Arthur was too until the start of this school year 🙈 I find it so hard thinking of names, particularly as I associate so many with kids I've taught!!

On my girls name list I've got Alba, Elodie, Hannah, Harriet and Matilda.

Hit me with some other suggestions!

lj2022 · 21/10/2022 23:18

Sorry off topic with the names but is anyone getting very bad pelvic pain already? I can't seem to find on Google if it's normal or not but it's actually painful when walking has been like this for easily a week and a half to 2 weeks now. It's always there sometimes hardly noticable other days it's pretty bad. Going to talk to my midwife about it on Wednesday but it's just making me worry a bit

xalexandra · 22/10/2022 05:13

@tattlytote I really struggle to find boys names that I absolutely love... I have lots of girls names but definitely less options for boys

xalexandra · 22/10/2022 05:13

@Margo34 oooo I love Alba and Matilda 💕

Marshmallowmountain · 22/10/2022 07:03

@Cuppasoupmonster congratulations!

I also got my NIPT back yesterday (all normal) and found out I’m having a girl. However, I’d sent my 12 week scan to the nub techs and they said 85% boy so now I’ve been googling NIPT sex accuracy 😂

MamaMenna · 22/10/2022 07:21

@Marshmallowmountain ahh congrats on your girl! 💗 did you have a preference?

Loving the names chat! For a boy I love the name Ralph but when I looked it up there are a couple of negative associations with it, which I had never heard of. Do you ladies here know them without googling, was I unusual to be in ignorance? There is also the confusion of whether to go with ralf or raife pronunciation and if raife how to spell it. So I'm totally torn over the name now, I don't want to make it complicated 🤷‍♀️

For girls I'm looking for an old fashioned boho kind of name that's not too common and have lots I like but nothing I'm completely loving yet so suggestions welcome!

Gilm0reGirl · 22/10/2022 07:58

@Marshmallowmountain all my nubtech and ramzi theory guesses said boy for my last pregnancy too, it was a baby girl though 😂 seems like it's not that uncommon for them to get it wrong.

ancienthouse · 22/10/2022 08:07

@MamaMenna i can't think of any negative associations with Ralph.
Wreck it Ralph is a fun film, Ralph Fiennes is posh, that's all I've got!

It's impossible to know what will happen with any name in the future and if it will be associated with something horrible. So unless it's like Adolf or Myra or something then I think any name is fine!

Gilm0reGirl · 22/10/2022 08:11

@MamaMenna I like the name Ralph, I know of one thing it's used as a slang term for but I've only heard it in American slang and it was a long time ago, like American sitcoms from the 90s, so I don't think anyone would think of it like that

ancienthouse · 22/10/2022 08:13

Boys names I like are Theo, Arthur, James, Bernard, Wilfred, Wilbur, Albie, Eric. But for various reasons I can't go with any of them!

Girls names I like but my DH says no are Astrid, Fern, Freya, Mathilde, Bethan.

Cuppasoupmonster · 22/10/2022 08:30

Congrats @Marshmallowmountain 💕

Ralph is a lovely name, there’s one at DD’s nursery. To be honest, I think most things ‘go’ these days - from the ultra vintage to ultra modern. It’s kind of a nice time to be naming a baby because there’s a lot of choice.

OP posts:
ancienthouse · 22/10/2022 08:48

@Cuppasoupmonster except for names like Nigel, Brenda, Margaret, Trevor, Gary etc! I'm sure our children will be using those to name their children though!

tattlytote · 22/10/2022 09:36

It's funny how names come and go in fashion, and even without realising we follow it. For example, 10 years ago I would have thought Ralph was an odd choice for a baby, but now I hear it and think 'how sweet'!
Thanks for suggestions. We also like Max but would want a longer version and just not sure on Maximilian, it's such a big name for a little person!

AliceinSlumberland · 22/10/2022 09:46

Ohhhhh lord it’s going to be a hungry day, can tell already!!

Margo34 · 22/10/2022 09:58

@MamaMenna Raife is nice! I like Ralph too but we named one of DC1s toys Ralph so can't really use that, "did you really name DC2 after that cuddly sloth toy?" 🤣 No other associations for me with that name except Wreck it Ralph and Ralph Fiennes as previously mentioned!

Rafferty (Raffy) is another one I like a lot but it doesn't really go with DC1 whose name also ends with the /ee/ sound (think y, ie, i ending) so sounds a bit matchy 🙈

Gah!! So glad we have plenty of time to think of names.

Last time I had a mile long list of girls names and I let 2 boys names 🤭 and the name that we chose in the end was on neither of those lists 🤣
