@Cuppasoupmonster im 25th April please 😁

Chocolat · 18/10/2022 19:33

@Cuppasoupmonster thanks, great idea. I’m due 3rd April, first time mum and finding out the gender on 15th Nov 😁

@Biscuitsplease ive started to look they seem soo expensive. This bundle looks reasonable and really pretty but hoping it will go down on Black Friday www.silvercrossbaby.com/prams-pushchairs/bundles/wayfarer-constellation-dream-i-size-base-bundle/

what does every one think of that, I’m a ftm and have little idea what I’m looking for 😂

MamaMenna · 18/10/2022 19:39

I'm 30th April, 2nd time mum @Cuppasoupmonster

@Biscuitsplease I have a mountain buggy urban jungle, it's a 3 wheeler with chunky wheels and is great on (sane) off road paths. DH did a TON of pram research and said it was the clear dad choice. I've never used anything else so can't compare. It's also nice and light to push and easy one handed which is very handy. No good if you want to fold it and put it in the car a lot though as it's huge.

MamaMenna · 18/10/2022 19:48

@Chocolat that looks beautiful! Will you mostly be on well paved surfaces because it looks best suited to tarmac. I like that it does parent facing as well as world facing. I'd want to research the car seat it comes with to check it gets good reviews. Looks like a great deal and love the starry design.

Cuppasoupmonster · 18/10/2022 19:50

Prams are essential! You end up shoving all kinds of things in the under basket - change bag, snacks, drinks, handbag etc. Slings are good for ‘walks’ but not in my experience for longer periods of time, and you’d have to wear a rucksack and the two together could overload you a bit. A good pram is definitely an investment!

@Biscuitsplease we have ordered our pram; very lucky because my parents bought our travel system for us!

I needed one small enough to fold into the boot of my car (i have a small car), after some shopping and research we fell in love with the Cosatto wow continental, everything bundle.
Went to see it in store and it fit perfect in the car; got the full bundle for £800 as Cosatto had it on offer for a weekend on their website- it was supposed to be £1500! Mum and dad surprised us and paid the deposit there and then, the pram doesn’t get delivered until end of March next year but im so chuffed that is done and dusted and im so happy with our choice 😅

I will also get a carrier/sling but didn’t want to struggle without a pram 🙂

Cuppasoupmonster · 18/10/2022 19:51

Can testify that Silver Cross prams are lovely!

@MamaMenna thank you that’s really useful advice. I will have a look into the car seat. And probably will be mostly used on hard surfaces but I would like to go on walks to the parks which might be a bit muddy? How can you tell what is suited for tarmac or not etc? 😅

Chocolat · 18/10/2022 20:00

@Cuppasoupmonster they are just so pretty 🤩

Cuppasoupmonster · 18/10/2022 20:00

Thanks for the responses, I’ll keep adding it and will post in the OP of our next thread - we should know more pinks/blues by then as well ♥️

For what it’s worth Silver Cross is good quality and if you’re happy to give it a wipe down after, mine survived many slightly boggy walks across playing fields etc.

Cuppasoupmonster · 18/10/2022 20:02

And yes they’re just so stylish! I felt like the dogs bollocks pushing mine with my sunglasses on 😆

OP posts:
Chocolat · 18/10/2022 20:05

@Cuppasoupmonster ooh that’s good to hear! Yes I don’t think I’d be doing too much more than some boggy fields so happy to wipe down!

haha nothing like a good pram to make you feel good. Probably deserve it after everything we go through 😅

MamaMenna · 18/10/2022 20:10

@Chocolat I don't know re the wheels 😂, only that as we are rural and most walks involve some gravel / mud we only searched out prams with bigger wheels and chunky tread. I expect regular wheels are fine in the park. I take my pram on buses, trains and round the city too, but I don't do a lot of that and I'm a much chunkier buggy than most so it wouldn't be my pick if I weren't village based.

Cuppasoupmonster · 18/10/2022 20:10

Oh we do @Chocolat ! If you can afford something nice then get it - if we can’t treat ourselves now then when can we? I really enjoyed baby shopping for DD’s things and would do it again if I had the cash!

OP posts:
Chocolat · 18/10/2022 20:16

@MamaMenna ah I see that makes sense! Guess I really need to think about how I’ll be using it practically. Thanks for your advice.

@Cuppasoupmonster It reminds me of when I was a child and wanted all the prams/furniture/clothes for my dolls but could never afford it 😅. Now it’s real life and it’s so fun! And yes after this, all spending money I feel will end up on the baby.

KennAdams · 18/10/2022 20:35

@Cuppasoupmonster thanks for making the list! I'm due 16th April but will probably have ELCS the week before. We're staying team yellow 💛

xalexandra · 18/10/2022 20:40

Does anyone ever get random pains and twinges in their belly? I'm 13+6 and just worry about any tiny pains or weird feelings in my belly 😩 are sharp pains normal now and then that just randomly come and go? It's my first after a miscarriage so constantly worrying about any tiny weird feeling because obviously don't know what to expect and my first time was a miscarriage!

PuddingBear · 18/10/2022 20:42

Ha ha I totally lost this thread as it was in a different category 😂

PuddingBear · 18/10/2022 20:45

My EDD is 27th April but I’m having an ELCS so will likely be the week before.

If we find out the sex it won’t be until the 20 week scan though!

PuddingBear · 18/10/2022 20:47

Cuppasoupmonster · 18/10/2022 17:54

As current OP if people want to put their due date and sex of baby I will happily draw up a list to modify! Also first/second time mum etc?

Sorry just seen this. EDD 27th April, sex unknown for now, second time mum 😊

Cuppasoupmonster · 18/10/2022 20:48

For those of us with ‘official’ due dates but delivering earlier, what would you like me to put on the list? The official due date then probable due date in brackets, just the official date, or just the probably due date? 🧐

OP posts:
PuddingBear · 18/10/2022 20:53

@Cuppasoupmonster That’s a great question 😂

Er… maybe “official date” and then in brackets something like “probable”?

Because for those of us with ELCS we won’t get the actual date booked until much later… 🤨

@DBS94 i just lost my reply to you but I’m essence… the duo do camera probe is our friend compared to the smear experience. Try to relax and it’s effects easier, it doesn’t hurt at alllll and you get to wave at the baby in your snow stormy tele :)
