@SearchingTheSkies i think it can, especially earlier on. I had anterior placenta last time and the midwives always took longer to find the heartbeat. It was fine though, except during labour because DD was also back to back and they kept worrying they couldn't hear the heartbeat which wasn't very reassuring!

Checking in!
Has anyone else had their 16 week blood test (I think only offered to those who are Rhesus negative) to find out if your baby is positive or negative? I had mine yesterday and one of the questions the midwife asked me beforehand (whilst filling something in on the computer) was whether we were finding out the sex, so I said yes. I didn't think any more of it at the time but now I'm wondering if this blood test could also tell you the sex?! I wish I'd asked at the time. They didn't do this blood test in my last pregnancy.

Funnily enough I rang my midwife a few days ago about this as I couldn’t recall they had noted it at my 12 week scan and had forgotten the procedure, she said the bloods had been taken and I should get the result at the 16 week appointment but to chase them up then if they didn’t give them to me. As far as I know they don’t check the sex! With DD they just told me she was also O- so no chance of rhesus disease.

@Cuppasoupmonster ahh thank you. I thought it'd be too good to be true! My husband is also negative so there's no reason baby shouldn't be. I bled heavily at 12 weeks last time (before they knew my blood group) so I had to have the anti d for that. It's a pretty unpleasant injection!!

Anyone else getting little kicks? I can feel them inside but not outside if that makes sense! But it’s definitely the baby.
DD just had a meltdown at dinner because she didn’t want her dad to cut her meat. DH just muttered ‘hope the next one is a boy’
Hate to break it to him but I’m sure toddler boys also have tantrums 😂

Evening ladies checking into the new thread!
No kicks for me yet @Cuppasoupmonster but how exciting is that, what does it feel like?!
Was feeling a bit rubbish clothes wise as my tights and leggings are getting a bit uncomfy and my pjs too. Went to the nearest city to us today to see what I could find and ended up getting a couple of maternity jeans from H&M, a nice loose dress for work in a bigger size from marks and three sets of primark pjs in a much bigger size!
I’ve also ordered some maternity work trousers from Vinted (£4 posted, bargain) and a cute maternity pinafore also from Vinted, and I ordered the maternity leggings from Love Leggings too so thank you for that recommendation as I didn’t think much of the ones in H&M, very thin!
I don’t need the maternity jeans yet but I don’t often go to the city and I like to try things on so thought might as well get them while I’m there. Also got this from Primark for £4!!! How cute 😭😭
Only thing is the trip totally wore me out but I’m comfy on the sofa now in my new massive pjs feeling much happier that I’ll have comfy things to wear over the next few months and haven’t spent a fortune.

Checking in! Thanks for the help on the last thread re screening results. I think I’ve understand what corr MoM means - as I understand it it’s correlated multiples of median so correlated to your weight. By that logic I think 1 is bang average. Did anyone else have that table on their screening results? With these things I kind of wish they didn’t include them without an explanation and just said what your risk is.

I've definitely been feeling baby too although very sporadically and it feels more like bubbles or judders rather than kicks... Very exciting I agree!
@AliceinSlumberland sounds like a really fruitful trip to the city, I love getting new comfy clothes especially when pregnant! We need to be comfortable. Also that basket is v cute. I have just downloaded vinted and really need to have a look! I got my seraphine order today and I like two of the dresses but the other dress and dungarees I don't love so will return... Means I can justify a couple of other maternity purchases I think 😂
I've been worrying about my screening results today even though I know objectively it's fine 🙈 I think I'm just in such a anxious state Atm 😵💫
