Have they found any reason for the recurrent m/cs in either of you?

OracleInaCoracle · 04/02/2008 13:40

still waiting for LWH to call me back, i need to go up this week for bloods and im starting to panic! tested really early (9dpo) and both bfps were faint, so im panicking a bit. just want bloods to confirm that my eyes arent deceiving me!

Julezboo · 04/02/2008 13:41

i have a clotting disorder and have started on Heparin injections already.

Lissie I am going to ask for a different person next time and I am gonna stamp my feet from now on and refuse to be scanned till at least im over 6 weeks. My hospital is a good hours away drive, I cant be dragging my kids up there every other day to be told no change.

CantSleepWontSleep · 04/02/2008 13:41

LWH?

OracleInaCoracle · 04/02/2008 13:41

csws, not in me. apparently ive been mc-ing from conception, somethings been going wrong on a cellular level, so just crossing everything!

Julezboo · 04/02/2008 13:42

Lissie - you'll be fine! Must be a strong one to show up at 9dpo!

tedmundo · 04/02/2008 13:43

hi csws

lurk a lot on the weaning and food topics as ds is a poor eater. But sleeps for england so really can't complain too much.

been lurking a bit on the conception topics too as the bfp has been a faint line on the tests (taken them the past couple of mornings) and with ds it was a stronger line on my af due date. but it is a different hpt brand and the consensus seems to be a line is a line is a line so I am taking it as a yes.

good point about getting on the system. ds was induced early as I suffered pre eclampsia so they told me i would be monitored more closely the next time round. better get on the phone then to the gp's ..

OracleInaCoracle · 04/02/2008 13:43

Liverpool Womens Hospital (im in shropshire but was referred to their recurrent mc unit after my last)im supposed to go straight there & bypass my gp, but because its so far & i dont drive i need a day or so's notice.

Julezboo · 04/02/2008 13:44

tedmundo - they have BP moniters in Lloyds at the mo for £10, I had severe pre eclampsia with my first so my BP is monitered pretty closely too

CantSleepWontSleep · 04/02/2008 13:48

I was talking to a toddler group friend who has two dc last week, and she spent years (8 iirc) ttc, and having very very early m/cs. She eventually contacted a doctor in the US who she had read about, and through his testing she discovered that her body was reacting as though the foetus was a cancer, and thus attacking it. He put her on a cocktail of drugs (luckily she is a qualified nurse so could administer herself) and after 3 more m/cs she then had her first son. Had to go through it all again to get her second as well.

I guess they don't test for stuff like that over here.

CantSleepWontSleep · 04/02/2008 13:51

at 'sleeps for England'. I'm hoping for a better sleeper this time!

Julezboo · 04/02/2008 13:52

blimey CSWS how awful for her but good that they found reason for it!

OracleInaCoracle · 04/02/2008 13:52

they dont. LWH have said we qualify for further tests but will have to pay for them. if this one (god forbid) doesnt hold on then we are having the tests.

tedmundo · 04/02/2008 13:54

julezboo - we have one from the first time but thank you for the kind advice. dh would sit me down each evening and chart my bp measurements and at each midwife appointment would brandish his readings and grass me up for staying at work late when I should have been resting! traitor

tbh by the time they induced me I was glad as I was literally spending every other day in the day assessment unit bored to death. if the same happens again, I may well end up with a sept baby but I am going to be positive and hope the bp stays normal this time.

for all of you with a few worries right now - I am thinking about you and hope all turns out well.

CantSleepWontSleep · 04/02/2008 13:55

Wow - does the NHS not fund the testing? That's crap. Do they never fund, or is there just a stupidly long list of criteria?

tedmundo · 04/02/2008 13:56

and I am hoping for a better eater - surely I can't have another one that is happy to starve???

Julezboo · 04/02/2008 13:57

thats a bit crap lissie, will it cost alot?

Everything crossed you wont need it!!

Do you take aspirin or anything?

OracleInaCoracle · 04/02/2008 14:04

its a research test, so its not funded at all. no asprin, heparin or drugs, just high FA and lots of rest.

tedmundo, iirc there was a study which showed a reduction in the risk of PE if you drink lots of oj, eat lots of oranges etc.

Julezboo · 04/02/2008 14:09

Just rung hospitalm no results yet, off on school/work run now so will update after tea

OracleInaCoracle · 04/02/2008 14:14

loulou33 · 04/02/2008 14:58

Welcome to all the newbies

daisyj · 04/02/2008 15:21

Bethoo, hope you hang in there, now you're my new date mate . I am totally paranoid to be symptom-less. I know I'm being silly, but I almost wish I had my head down the loo. My boobs aren't even hurting much any more.

We have a cat, too. He's quite a new rescue cat, and very sweet and neurotic. I don't think he's going to be happy about the new arrival. Not to mention the fact that we've just started selling our flat/buying a bigger one, and he DOES NOT LIKE CHANGE! In fact, he resists with all his furry might if we so much as move anything an inch in HIS flat.

SydneyB · 04/02/2008 16:01

Welcome to all the new people - this thread is nice and full now!

All of you who are going through this waiting thing after m/c are just amazing! Must be such a worrying time and I'm thinking of you all and wishing you lots of luck.

If I can be of any reassurance at all, hardly anyone I know, including myself had any symptoms at this early early stage. I promise! I bet we'll all be moaning about vomming in a couple of weeks...
