Flum · 21/02/2008 22:37

ahhhhhhh, I'm dreaming of twins..... would love that. don't think so though as no queasiness and have heard that lots of sickness with twins. also pg test did not show positive until I was about 4 days late.

bigmouthstrikesagain · 21/02/2008 22:48

Flum I am having nightmares about twins there are a few sets in my family and I know how much work they are (my sister has 2 sets of twins!)... but what will be.

I am feeling very tired and by turns ravenous then quesy... entertaining my dd (22m) is hard work as she is very clingy at the mo, and my 3.5 yo keeps demanding to be picked up... Doc's tommorrow - but I don't think he will be able to tell how far on I am - I think I am 4-5 weeks but could be more I suppose.

bigmouthstrikesagain · 21/02/2008 22:50

I should add though I love all the twinnys in our family they are fab and we wouldn't have it any other way - but my eyes are fully open to the potential complications as well.

mariekg · 21/02/2008 22:54

hi all is anybody else getting really bad lower back pain im only just pregnant didnt think id get this so early it aches just above my backside on both sides weird!

bigmouthstrikesagain · 21/02/2008 22:59

Hi Mari - I have had the back aches - in this and previous pg's They could be related to hormones or implantation pains I think - they are common at this early stage. hth

mariekg · 21/02/2008 23:27

thanks for the advice bmsa you have really put my mind at rest you would think i wouldnt get so nuerotic with my fourth!!

tedmundo · 22/02/2008 09:18

csws and pistachio - ds is 12 months and has never been bothered about food, including milk when he was younger. He does not put finger foods in his mouth - it does not even occur to him to eat things on his tray. I tried BLW for a few days until it became clear he had literally not eaten a thing. I can put things in his mouth for him and sometimes he will take them, sometimes he won't. So he does eat fruit and crackers and cheese in this way and reduced sugar jam sandwiches.

He has a deep seated suspicion of any food not instantly recognisable. He will eat mashed up food such as chicken and sweet potato if I mash up some banana into it too to make it a recognisable smell. This is where the problem starts as even typing that just then has made me want to throw up.

DH has advised a new strict routine where I stop hiding food with banana and just give him his food and if he doesn't eat it then tough. Sounds good in practice but when your child is a 2nd percentile skinnyo then you just want to see them eat. Rant over. Sorry guys .

Feel sick today again so dreading lunch/tea time. I hope everyone else is well.

Julezboo · 22/02/2008 09:20

Morning girls!!!

Bethoo - Im glad your symptoms are kicking in. It is very hard work entertaining a toddler with it all... Mine was laughing so much yesterday cos I was throwing up cutie!! Still cant believe hes one!!!

Im off to a physcic (sp) party tonight which should be interesting. And i have to go out today to go the bank ! Dont know how I'll manage. Take a few bags with me I suppose lol

Jambers99 · 22/02/2008 09:29

Ah tedumndo, your ds sounds a bit like mine. He just doesn't get finger foods at all, despite being offered rice cakes etc for months now - he just pulls them to pieces with his fingers and then throws them on the floor. If I feed him anything vaguely lumpy he spits it out or is sick. He is also right down the bottom of the weight charts so I keep feeding him mushy food so that he's eating something.

Still no symptoms for my new pregnancy (though only 5w+1) - the time is going SO slowly, just want to be out of the first trimester so that I can relax a bit and tell everyone.

tedmundo · 22/02/2008 09:36

Jambers - thanks for your rely. It is so good to know I am not alone!

So expect to start feeling like death sometime around Thursday next week

sambrads · 22/02/2008 09:40

good morning everyone i decided to tell my parents yesterday that i was pregnant and they took the news quite well . my dad was like a child at christmas but my mum was a bit offish as she said she was annoyed i did not tell her sooner

it now feels alot more exciting so icant wait to get my scan now . i think by telling its made me feel alot more positive about things

perkypopsy · 22/02/2008 09:47

Morning sambrands well done for telling! I was worried about it but everyone I have told has been fab - is like a weight off your shoulders isn't it? I woke up feeling much more positive this morning - have been making myself feel better with the stats that it is rare to lose a baby after seeing a heart beat - am going to have PMA chanting session for my little pea.

I don't know how you ladies manage being PG with a little one - is hard enough feeding myself at the mo - and with zero energy - some of you are BF too? Is amazing!

Julezboo · 22/02/2008 09:57

Well done for telling them Sam - Mums are funny things arent they!!

Ted - my DS (now 5) was a fussy eater, he grew out of it around the age of 2 I think, now I cant fill him and hes stilla skinnyo!

Perky - cbeebies is coming in very handy, and I neverthought I'd say this but I am loking forward to MIL comingback next week to help me!

sambrads · 22/02/2008 09:57

thanks so much perkypopsy

its great feeling when its a bit more public i do like the thought of it being very rare to lose a baby after seeing a heart beat .

well as for coping with ds and being pregnant theres nothing else you can do but cope .

dh and I had big conversation last night about telling the parents so that we can ask for some help for me while I am feeling so sick. But I am just so scared about jinxing things by telling people. I am 6w+2 today so it still feels so early...

BTW - both sets of parents live LONG way away - we are so alone and it is times like this we feel it Shame the days of family units living close by is becoming a rarity.

Jules - thank you for kind words. One thing we tell ourselves to cheer us up is that we will never need worry about childhood obesity with this one!

perkypopsy · 22/02/2008 10:16

julez I thought you meant you were watching cbeebies ha ha - god I am having real trouble with my brain at the mo - it is just full of hormones and worry and excitement

ted I too wish we had family nearer. Our folks are both up north and my sisters are in oxfordshire - no free babysitting or help with everything unless someone comes to stay...which can only last so long - wish my mum could just pop round for a cuppa...

ronshar · 22/02/2008 10:18

Popsy I have bought a doppler £25 ebay. I borrowed one for DD2. I was able to listen everyday to the noises and heartbeat. also DD1 loved to listen as well. It was our special time together!
I feel like death. I have never felt like this for any of my previous pregnancies. DH last night said what if it is teins. I laughed in a slightly hysterical manor. He then said it would be bad for me as I have to carry them. Bless. I told him it wouldnt be the carrying that would be a problem it would be the looking after He went quiet then!!!!
I cant get up without tea & toast. Served in bed. Brilliant.

Hope everyone is well.
I am off to get my hair de greyed.

perkypopsy · 22/02/2008 10:24

Morning ronny how soon did you start using it?
OOOh very sick you say - see nh post below...could be a double whammy! Well you'll find out at the scan on Monday won't you YIKES
tea and toast in bed YUM I am worst midday and early evening as long as I get up as soon as alarm goes off and get some food down me...having a non-symptom day today though so am sat here hoping for some signs

perkypopsy · 22/02/2008 10:25

p.s. enjoy your pampering today - I need my roots done but am worried will be out of job in a few months so may bite the bullet and go back to a brown rinse cos these highlights cost a FORTUNE
