Thanks Sambrads. I've worked out I'm due at the end of October. Still feels not real but I'm sure once the morning sickness kicks in the reality will too.

Hiya to all the newbies and welcome.

Been far too busy at work to log on so i seem to have missed loads. Someone else at my work told everyone they are pg this week - due end of Aug. The admin staff were asking all the others when they came into the office to guess who was pg and they all (bar one) said me!! When they told me this i kind of blushed and said nowt, i think one of them has guessed - whoops!! Feel a bit peed off that someone else got there first iyswim, i know its irrational but hey i can't help my hormones!!!

I would like to join this thread please

I was not expecting to be expecting but here I am on the pill and pg - oh well. I have two kids already 22m and 3.5y but hey more the merrier I suppose.

Am really trying not to panic, dh has taken the news very well in the circumstances so all I need to do is find out my due date. As I have been taking the pill I am really not sure what it will be - so I might be due in Sept. All very confusing.

Good luck all to all our little beans.

ronshar · 20/02/2008 20:39

Sitting down watching the Brit awards. I am trying to pretend I am still young!!!.

I seem to be spending most of my days trying to find something to eat which doesnt make me feel sick! Then in the evenings I spend the night worrying about drinking to much as I will then be up all night weeing.
My midwife phoned this morning. I have a scan booked for Monday morning. I am feeling a bit apprehensive. I shall be 8 weeks so it should be a good one!
Hansnava. On a different thread there is a lady who was told that her pregnancy hormones where too low for a viable pregnancy. She went for a check up scan and there was a little bean with a perfect little heart beat! It is very hard do but you really have to hang on untill at least 6 weeks and the scans will tell you everything you need to know.

MrsTittleMouse · 20/02/2008 20:48

Hello bigmouthstrikesagain,
Is it your Pregnancy thread where you've just told your husband?

I have realised today that all the previous nausea has just been a warm-up to the main event. I managed to get down some water biscuits and cheese triangles for dinner, but when I bent down to pick up a pea from the floor (courtesy of DD) I had to run up to the bathroom. Bleugh. 6 weeks down, 34 to go........

bigmouthstrikesagain · 20/02/2008 20:58

Hello Mrs T - yes that was my thread and luckily dh has taken the news well

I have now got a weeks hol in Gran Canaria to get through - and I don't really want to fly - but I should think it will be ok - just realised I need to sort out the insurance though and pg might be an issue there! Oh dear.

bigmouthstrikesagain · 20/02/2008 21:02

oooh I just though if this little bean is ok - perhaps I can have another homebirth - I still have the birthing pool and everything - yay!

MrsTittleMouse · 20/02/2008 21:03

Aha! Great to hear that everything has gone so well.

Pregnancy is almost always fine re: travel insurance, as long as you're in the first two trimesters and don't have any complications. My advice would be to go and really enjoy yourself, after all this summer you might be feeling to big to go anywhere fun. There was a thread on Pregnancy recently about flying at 7 and a half weeks and lots of people have done it and been fine. I flew long-distance twice in my last pregnancy and once in this one (before I knew) and DD is perfect.

MrsTittleMouse · 20/02/2008 21:04

Would be a waste not to use it again, economies of scale and all that.

Hey girls

Have read and caught up, hey to all newbies and congrats!!

I wasnt gonna log on today but it moves so fast dont wanna miss out

My ds(5) had 6th teeth out today so we spent the day at the hospital, he has got over it quick though

Night night all from a very exhausted and sick Julie xx (7+3 yay!)

Lozza70 · 20/02/2008 21:28

Hi Cantsleepwontsleep you are doing a good job on keeping the list up to date!

Does anyone think I should be a bit worried that I got a letter today inviting me to my 20 week scan and I have yet to hear about my 12-14 week nucal fold scan?? It's all a bit confusing anyway as I am having scans every few weeks as I have recurrent MC problems but that is at a different hospital. Hopefully first baby so over analysing stuff a bit

CantSleepWontSleep · 20/02/2008 21:36

Do you definitely get Nuchal fold on NHS Lozza? My area only offers it if you are over 35. If you are younger than that and want it then you have to go private. (They do offer a 12 week dating scan.)

Lozza70 · 20/02/2008 21:41

My area offers it when you are over 37 and luckily or not this time I turned 37 at Christmas, ancient Mum . The last few times I was preg I had scans booked privately but my GP definately said I would get it from the hospital this time. Maybe I should give her a call, but don't want to be the pain in the bum patient

MrsTittleMouse · 20/02/2008 22:12

Ah, I wonder if that's why I'm booked in for a nuchal scan. I was quite shocked that we didn't have to go private and told the MW so. She was probably too nice to tell me that it's because I'm ancient.

ronshar · 20/02/2008 22:17

You should get a nucal fold on NHS regardless of age. Ask your gp as they will have access to policy and who maternity contracts are with.
In my area they had contract with UCH in London. So had to travel to London or pay private local clinic. I found out yesterday that they now have scanner and staff at the local NHS hospital. It is a basic level test which everyone should have access to!!!

mariekg · 21/02/2008 00:17

hi all ive never had a 12 week scan but appently theyve just started doing them in my area very excited and a little bit worried as im not getting any younger [30] that isent very old i know but we were very young when we started our family and i feel extremely old!! by the way i cant remember ive only just found out im pregnant but when is it normal to start getting symptoms i dont feel any different its slightly worrying im 4+2 any advice?

Jambers99 · 21/02/2008 07:46

Hi all, can I join you? I found out yesterday that I'm pregnant too. Am totally stunned and delighted, since it took 3 years & several IVF attempts to conceive my son but this one has happened naturally. Fingers crossed all goes well for us all. Think I'm due on 23rd October.

fairydust2 · 21/02/2008 08:30

Hi Everyone, wow this thread just gets busier and busier.

Congratulations Jambers99, you must be so pleased that it happened so quickly this time.

Mariekg, I'm already finding it difficult to remember but I'm pretty sure when I was 4 weeks, I experienced very little symptoms. I think I said before, it's just a constant rollercoaster of worrying when you do have symptoms and worrying when you don't. Best thing is to stay relaxed and calm. I wish I could take my own advice!
