CantSleepWontSleep · 19/02/2008 17:03

I'm obese whether I'm at the doctor's or not .

Don't talk about gyms please. I should have been there this afternoon (is normally the only chance I get in a week), but hadn't got my stuff together when I had to take dd to CM, and didn't want to spend the whole afternoon rushing about like I normally do, so I skipped it . Will have to see if I can find the energy and persuade dh to look after dd for a bit so that I can go at the weekend.

I am self-appointed mistress of lists pp, so I put you on there!

Lozza70 · 19/02/2008 17:36

Afternoon everyone and welcome to the newbies!

I have had the best day to get over my lack of sleep last night (having to get up for the toilet a few times a night). For work today I had to go to a well known spa and not only did I get a great facial, just the thing to sort the dreadful dry patches under my eyes, but I saw Jason Orange in a bathrobe What a day

tedmundo · 19/02/2008 17:55

perkypopsy welcome! We are sharing food cravings! All I have eaten today is a packet of crisps and lots of melba toast with butter on. Not a nutrient in sight. I am calling it the anti-atkins diet!

Felt queasy again a bit today so feel heartened by this. Just think guys - come August/Sept we will be big and waddling and sweating in the summer sun(if there is any) and these anxious times will feel like a long time ago....

tedmundo · 19/02/2008 18:03

Lozza - just read your post. HOW JEALOUS AM I??

Back in the 90's I was always a Robbie fan (still am - ds went to see him aAND Take That while in my tummy!!)but now it is Jason all the way...

fruitloop79 · 19/02/2008 18:19

Hey Sam where are you? Thought I'd nip over to see how you are as you haven't poked your head round the TTC waiting room for a while

fruitloop79 · 19/02/2008 18:20

Doesn't look like I'll be joining you on this Oct thread

hansnava · 19/02/2008 18:37

hi all havent been on for a few days.

really freaking out at the min. im 5+2 weeks pg and a compulsive tester. just did test as ive been cramping a bit and the 2nd line was really light i had to really look to see it. some please put my mind at rest or confirm wat i think it means

should say all other test lines been dark

CantSleepWontSleep · 19/02/2008 18:44

Prob just a crappy test if all the others have been dark. Do one more in the morning to put your mind ar rest, and then DON'T DO ANY MORE!

JO holds no appeal for me, so you can keep him .

hansnava · 19/02/2008 18:57

well i will admit it was only 2.99 but its the same one that told me i was pg in the first place. my boobs have stopped aching too and i just dont feel pg

MrsTittleMouse · 19/02/2008 18:59

Sorry to hear that fruitloop.

tedmundo · 19/02/2008 19:08

fruitloop - I am going through the same feelings as some times I feel tired and queasy and others I feel absolutely fine. Maybe we should try to see ourselves as being fortunate to not suffer symptoms(going for the glass is half full theory here...!) rather than torturing ourselves?

Repeat after me - we all have different symptoms, we all have different symptoms...

CSWS - were you are Marky fan then?

ronshar · 19/02/2008 19:24

I am so crap!! I cant even eat a pot of Ben & Jerrys. Normally it is no problem but last night I settled down with some caramel chew chew and what happened, it made me feel crap. I still felt dreadfull this morning but at least DH made me tea and toast in bed.
I saw midwife today it was the same one who homebirthed my dd2. She should have retired! I am happy though because she felt really sorry for me after the horrid 12 months I have had. So much so she is going to push the EPU to scan me urgently this week. I shall find out tomorrow morning.
If anyone is wooried about loss of symptoms they should visit GP. They will send you for blood tests. They measure accurately the HCG in your blood. It should be rising considerably in the first few months. The GP is normally quite happy to do this as it gets a tearful hormonal woman out of the surgery.
Welcome to all the newly pregnant girls. Lets hope we are all here for the (long hard slog) sorry joyful event that is pregnancy!!

amggill · 19/02/2008 19:35

hi all, can i join you? i'm 34 and pregnant with my first - EDD is 11th of October, and sore boobs is my biggest problem especially sleeping at night on my side, oooowwwwww! every time i turn.

not been sick up to today when felt quite nauseous.

didn't want to tell anyone till 12 weeks especially as it's my first but ended up telling family at weekend and a couple of close friends!!

i'm hypothyroid so am a bit concerned about my thyroxine levels but fingers crossed!

Lozza70 · 19/02/2008 19:50

Hi Amggill I'm also hypothyroid and asked for a blood test to check levels as soon as I found out I was preg. All okay but worth asking I think as everyone is different.

Tedmundo, sorry for making you but just had to tell as it makes a massive change from my days in front of a PC. Personally I was a Robbie fan back in the day but he has got a bit self indulgent of late

CantSleepWontSleep · 19/02/2008 20:16

I didn't really like TT at all! But if I had to pick, I'd go for Mark, as he seems quite sweet and funny (couldn't shag him though - too mismatched!).

amggill - you had already joined us!! Check out the last stats list - you were on the bottom as we didn't know your due date.

Ekka · 19/02/2008 20:56

Hi all, haven't read all the posts (and TBH haven't actually been on MN at all till recently), but we just found out that we're expecting no 2 at the end of Oct. DD is only 8 mths so I'm veering from excitement to panic (yes it was planned, just didn't think that it would be 1st time lucky IYSWIM ). Anyone else in a similar situation?

Just keeping my fingers crossed that all is ok, don't know why I'm more worried the second time round..... But I am shattered like I was the first time round so hopefully thats a good sign.

mariekg · 20/02/2008 08:23

hi Ekka congratulations!! i know exactly how you feel it took us 2 years to fall pregnant with our youngest so was in complete shock when the test was possitive after a few weeks of trying although my youngest is going to be 3 when this one is born my sister had hers very close together and although it was hard work at first she said she is so glad she did it that way because they will be very close as they grow and can play together

07mumstheword · 20/02/2008 08:41

Hello everyone and welcome to the newbies

This thread seems to finish quite early of an evening, everyone off to bed with complete exhaustion

I had to go to GP yesterday. I've got haemoroids (sp?) already!!! I had bright red blood which made the water pink from back passage when going to the loo (sorry TMI) and it scared the life out of me. GP has checked and there are some piles there which apparently is a good sign as the hormone (I think it's progestorone) that PG creates also adds towards piles although it is a little unusal at this early stage.

I'm glad to see so many of you not eating healthily. I was worrying because I seem to be craving bad food I didn't have one portion of fruit or veg yesterday and crisp sandwhiches are a favourite.

Lozza

sambrads · 20/02/2008 10:13

pepperrabbit · 20/02/2008 11:33

Morning all, still exhausted here, but not sleeping well either which is a bit of a pain.
Welcome newbies!
Off to sort out WW111 which seems to have broken out upstairs - the DSs are "helping" me with the washing...

Ekka · 20/02/2008 11:35

Sambrads - a date for the scan, its so exciting to look forward to it! Good luck.

Still haven't phoned my doc/mw yet as we're only 4 weeks so don't want to jinx it (really should get my act together soon!).

I found 1st time round that I felt much fatter in the evenings and felt like I was showing, but mornings was normalish size. No-one noticed anything though.... Mind you this time still haven't lost the tummy from dd1

Thanks for the encouragement mariekg - I'm sure we'll get through the first few weeks somehow. Don't know why I was surprised at 1st time lucky that was the way it worked with DD1 as well!

PrePG · 20/02/2008 11:40

Hi all - can I play here too? Also on the September thread, but the doctor pushed back my due date a week to 4 October at an early scan last week.

Had been feeling almost completely unaffected by pregnancy except for very sore boobs until yesterday and today (I'm 7w 4d today)- I've been feeling exhausted, slightly crampy and slightly queasy. Nothing sounds appetizing and I feel full and hungry at the same time. I think it might be down to a growth spurt. Anyone else feeling like this?
