myjobismum - my lmp was 31 Dec and my due date is around 6 Oct. though if i get gestational diabetes it will be a few days earlier!!

pepperrabbit · 16/02/2008 18:04

Bethoo have you had GD before?? I'm almost certain to get it again this time, with DS1 they actually let me go a week late but DS2 they wanted to induce at 38 weeks and i held out till 39 weeks. I know it's no fun, but it would be nice not to be alone with GD!
I think my EDD is actually 14th Oct but I expect to barely scrape to Oct...

bethoo · 16/02/2008 19:01

pepperabbit - yes i had GD and was induced at 39+3. ds was 7 lbs 15 so still reasonably good size though a midge now!!

pepperrabbit · 16/02/2008 19:05

I plan to keep well below their radar this time - I;ll probably start the diet by 12 weeks, it worked quite well last time as I was boringly sensible, tho it didn't really leave me anywhere to go by the time I was officially diagnosed. Managed to get by without insulin tho, but they warned me it would be worse, sooner if I had another.
And of course at that time I said "I'm never doing this again....."
Did you keep all your blood test kits?? I'm toying with trying to get a repeat prescription before I actually book in to keep an eye on things (she says with a mouth full of kettle chips!)

CantSleepWontSleep · 16/02/2008 19:11

Apparently they test for GD at 12 weeks as well as at 28 now. At least they do here - don't know if it's a national thing. I have to make appointment when I go for my scan.

pepperrabbit · 16/02/2008 19:20

I'll never avoid the sugar gestapo until 28 weeks if I have to do a test at 12!!!
Peeved emoticon.
They do usually give me random finger prick tests and last time I actually got caught out by a jacket potato I hadn't budgetted for - I was sooooo cross! I just don't see the need to be tormented by 4 blood tests a day to fill in a book, when as a sensible girl I can keep an eye on myself for the first 5 months. It's not as if I wouldn't seek help and hide or something.
Sorry, PR gets off high horse.
whereabouts are you CSWS - are you one of the Bristol ladies? I'm Hampshire.

and I MUST go and bath the DSs or it'll be midnight before they get to bed...

CantSleepWontSleep · 16/02/2008 19:26

I'm North Herts pepper.

Prob just the exertion myjob.

pepperrabbit · 16/02/2008 19:53

Myjob - lots of cleaning and hoovering and making beds would certainly make me ache! I'm sure you've just overstretched yourself. I read in a book the other day that your pregnant body is working harder just making a baby than your non-pregnant body would be climbing a mountain. So if you add climbing a mountain, to a mountain of housework of course you'll feel it
Have a quiet evening and an early night. Saturdays are just crazy these days aren't they....

CantSleepWontSleep · 17/02/2008 17:54

Nobody around on Sundays then?! Hope you're all having good weekends.

WriggleJiggle · 17/02/2008 17:56

CSWS - Congratulations! Just noticed your name when this thread came up in activ convos.

Alexa808 · 17/02/2008 18:46

Hello there,

just found out I'm pregnant. 6 weeks. Due date 8th of Oct. Read the thread, loved it and thought I'd post my happy news. I hope it'll all go well. Am really nervous.

Have a lovely WE everyone!

fairydust2 · 17/02/2008 19:31

CSWS - if anyone's been feeling like me, they have probably been asleep most of the day! This has been the most tiring day yet for me. It didn't help that I had friends over and a very late night last night. Judging by your name, sleep might be a sore point

Congratulations Alexa808! How are you feeling? I'm feeling nervous too so don't worry.

pepperrabbit · 17/02/2008 19:35

Hi Alex808 -congratulations!
You're right fairydust, I for one have been exhausted all day, sorted a mountain of paperwork very slowly and ready for bed about now.. except DS1 is still up
Sleep well all!

CantSleepWontSleep · 17/02/2008 19:53

Thanks WriggleJiggle .

Know what you mean re the sleep fairydust. We took dd to a farm with a play barn this morning, and had lunch there. She fell asleep in the car on the way home, so we left her on the drive (she has never transferred from one place to another whilst asleep) with dh checking her every few mins, whilst I went and had a lie down myself. Was gutted that she didn't sleep for longer, or come in quietly and happy for me not to be around - instead she came in screaming and asking for boo boo (a breast feed).

Would love an early night, but really ought to tidy a bit as hunkermunker is coming for lunch tomorrow (only met her once to say hello to), and don't want her to realise what a slattern I really am .

Congratulations Alexa, and well done for managing to read the whole thread! Is this your first pregnancy?

Lozza70 · 17/02/2008 20:22

Hi hope everyone is well. Congratulations Alexa808. I'm heading to bed as shattered after a wedding yesterday. Never as much fun when you are drinking sparkling water as opposed to champagne!

bethoo · 17/02/2008 20:25

good evening everyone. i have spent most of the day in bed!! put little one to bed and realised that my house is a tip!!! just done kitchen and contemplating living room but sod it i will do it tomorrow!! i seem to be collecting alot of paper!!

bethoo · 17/02/2008 20:25

oh and welcome to all the newcomers, there are so many of us now!!!

bethoo · 18/02/2008 08:51

7 weeks today!!

tedmundo · 18/02/2008 10:09

Happy 7 weeks bethoo

Morning all. CONGRATS to all the new bfp's. The list is going to be super long if we keep on at this rate.

I still have no symptoms so took another test (the "absorbing back into body" thing has really messed with my head! Never heard of it before and has me completely neurotic) and the bfp was a stronger line than the control line so I guess I am still pregnant.

Phoned ante natal clinic this morning to ask for a new dating scan date but she said the one I have at what will now be 10 weeks is absolutely fine. So I am very excited as will see the wee bean in a mere 4 1/2 weeks.

bethoo · 18/02/2008 10:21

tedmundo - sorry to panic you though i must confess i am the same, i felt queesy a few days ago but today i feel absolutly fine!!! my mm/c was at 7 weeks so not too optimistic this week!! will get some more tests to take as mw suggested i did later esp before booking in!!!

Julezboo · 18/02/2008 10:23

7 weeks today for me too!!!

Ted - doing all them tests can get quite expensive cant it

Having the day from hell already. Threw up 4 times (despite tablets) car wont start, managed to get DS1 a lift into school (although no idea how Im getting him back) Leccy is about to run out so have turned everything off cept for my laptop which is battery powered at the moment! and its a good 3 hours walk to nearest shopp and back, this is what i hate about living in a valley!! Or not having a second car Maybe it can be my selling point to DP now. Ive had a right good old whinge to him on SKype this morning, hes borrowing someone cars to come out at lunch time and sort leccy for me!

bethoo · 18/02/2008 10:26

oh dear Julez - not a good day!!

Tedmundo - there is a poundland where i live and you can get 3 preg tests for £1. do you have one near you or Tescos do 2 for under £4
