Morning all - congrats Alexa 808! Is this your first baby? Tis mine and it'll all such a rollercoaster already.
I know how you feel Tedmundo, I'm embarassed about how many pregnancy tests I've done. The worst thing is I try to analyse them working out if one line is darker than the next...
Yesterday I felt pretty ropey actually, which obviously I was thrilled about. It's weird but I just can't work out what I want to eat and whether I want to eat. Nothing appeals but I'm hungry.
Brilliant news Bethoo that you are seven weeks. I'll be there on Wednesday.
I woke up with a killer headache this morning and took some paracetemol. Hope that's ok...

fairydust2 · 18/02/2008 10:43

I'm 7 weeks today too! Yay!

Tedmundo - How many weeks are you? My symptoms have only really started properly in the last four days.

Bethoo, don't worry, I'm sure everything is fine. Any chance you can get an early scan done? I would have thought your GP or midwife would have booked one for you given your past experience.

Julezboo, sorry you're having a bad day. At least without a car, you're forced to stay in the house and rest. I've got loads on today and I'm not sure how I'm going to get through it feeling the way I do.

ronshar · 18/02/2008 11:26

Yipee I am back from my snowboarding holiday. I fell over loads but am still pregnant (I think). The break was fantastic.
I am also 7 weeks today. I popped into my GP's before my hols. I am booked in to see midwife tomorrow as have had 2mc's this past 12 months. Hopefully if I act pathetic enough I will get a scan soon!

It is brilliant to se everyone is still here. Julezboo, sorry about the loss of your twin, but really brill that you have a baby still growing.

I have breast's the size of melons and a rapidly decreasing wardrobe choice!!!

twinklytoes · 18/02/2008 11:29

morning all. congrats to all the newbies, just caught up on the last 4 pages - how things move fast.

congrats too julez, glad you still got a bean.

I have symptons at last - very sore boobs.

its half term here, so waiting for aunty to arrive then we're taking the dds swimming and to soft play.

tedmundo · 18/02/2008 11:46

I had a 10 pack of HPT from some cheapo Internet company and there are still some left for me to keep dabbling with!

Only 5w+5d so perhaps the symptoms will kick in sometime next week. I do have an urge for Nando's chicken but I put that down to me being a greedy guts rather than cravings.

Don't scans seem like this mystical promised land where you can never quite believe you are going to go!

07mumstheword · 18/02/2008 12:18

Hello everyone, I've had a hectic weekend and it's taken ages to catch up. Really glad to see everyone is doing well.

Congraulations Alexa

I went to the NEC yesterday to see the Strictly Come Dancing tour and I had a funny turn there, I can't explain it but I was a bit light headed. I'm extremely tired and whilst I have a flat tummy in the morning by the evening it's massive So I have some symptoms but generally I'm great.

perkypopsy · 18/02/2008 13:16

Hi All, ronshar I'm here but still scared in case am jinxing things
I'm 7 + 4 today, had a MMC last march and been trying since then.
I handed in my notice a few weeks ago, then found out I was PG and went to fertility appt to tell them so had a scan - all looks good apparently but I can't believe them!
Had weird fluctuating symptoms - boobs really painful, then some sickness (not sick), tired limbs and a spacey feeling - mumstheword I had the same as you when out on Friday - had to go and sit down before I fell down - so that with lack of drinking is sure to have set the tongues wagging - and I promised myself not to tell anyone this time as was heartbreaking last year
Anyhoo - life seems determined to suprise me at the mo so am just gonna have to roll with it.
Hope everyone is having a good day (I am feeling sick YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY) - they should have a queasy emoticon like on skype!

daisyj · 18/02/2008 15:59

7 weeks today too - yay!! I'm feeling quite lightheaded today, too, for the first time. Just actually looked under my desk to check if there was enought room to curl up and unfortunately there is - I can see that's going to be a source of extreme temptation for the next few months. (Although a sleepy emoticon would be more appropriate - we should have one of those).

Spink · 18/02/2008 16:11

hello to everyone! sorry to hear about mad days and sick days and lightheaded days.. and congrats to the new joiners and 7-week milestoners!

I don't have any symptoms today but am putting it down (hopefully) to being too distracted... The only constant is my tummy getting rounder as the day goes on, and then deflating overnight (well. nearly) Glad to read this is happening to a few of us!

My parents have come to stay with me and ds for 3 weeks while dh is away. The timing is a coincidence - they've come over for ds' 1st birthday (they don't live in the UK) - but I guess it is just as well dh will be away because we have a tiny flat and I have no doubt toes will be stepped on at some point.. Already I have gritted my teeth and taken deep breaths and they've only been here 4 hours!! They are brilliant with ds though, so I am really happy he gets to have good times with his grandparents for a bit.

Any tips on how I can float serenely past the 'helpful' comments and advice, would be much appreciated....

daisyj · 18/02/2008 16:42

Spink, repeat after me 'they mean it with love, they mean it with love, they mean it with love'. Saying that to yourself tends to blot out what they actually are saying, and all you have to do is smile and nod. Oh, and of course, the gritted teeth do help, too

Spink · 18/02/2008 16:47

thanks daisy it is good to be reminded of that. easy enough to forget when you feel pelted by them!

bethoo - I meant to say (in reply to your question on the other (bf) thread) - I think I am due on the 11th.. that goes on my LMP being the 5th Jan. But I KNOW that the bd date that did it was the 13th Jan (we didn't bd again after that until a couple of days before AF), and if I put that in as the conception date, it gives me an edd of 6th Oct.
I hope you're feeling more positive. No symptoms isn't necessarily a bad sign...

wem · 18/02/2008 20:01

Hallo, can I tag on the end here? Just found out and it's very early days, due right at the end of October I think. Tis my first, and I'm pretty much 50/50 scared/excited. Already loving mumsnet tho as just searched for 'early pregnancy cramps' and got back hundreds of messages saying 'yeah, totally normal, don't fret'

wem · 18/02/2008 20:06

btw Spink - recognise you from the ttc thread (was previously Nakamura), we were briefly cycle buddies Good to see you on here, congratulations!

Lozza70 · 18/02/2008 20:07

Welcome wem. This is my first as well and it is great being able to ask those questions you cannot ask anyone else! There are some great coversations on symptoms

Spink · 18/02/2008 20:24

hello wem! yay for your bean too! looking forward to much preg mning with you, ex-cycle buddy

Lozza70 · 18/02/2008 20:24

Talking of symptoms has anyone else developed incredibly dry skin patches on their face? My face is peeling under both my eyes which is unheard of for me. This is what I look like now

MrsTittleMouse · 18/02/2008 20:34

I had incredibly dry hair and skin last time round. I ended up washing my hair once a week or it would look like straw! It's supposed to help if you can eat healthy fats, especially oily fish and flax seed, but I couldn't really stomach either during most of my pregnancy.

When I'm too tired for a proper post, I always think a stats update is a good idea!

iMum has been posting on the Pregnancy board and the news isn't good. It looks as though she had an early miscarriage.

CantSleepWontSleep · 18/02/2008 21:16

Found her . Thank you.

fairydust2 · 18/02/2008 21:49

Sorry to hear your news iMum . Take care

Thanks for the update CSWS and I'm impressed that you took note of my change in date. You're obviously more on the ball than I am!

Re: dryness, I only got my hair cut the other day and I'm already spotting split ends! My hair is usually in quite good condition. I didn't really think it was pregnancy-related but hey pregnancy does strange things.

Congratulations Wem! Yes mumsnet is great for putting your mind at ease about lots of things.

mariekg · 18/02/2008 23:59

hi everyone just found out im pregnant for the fourth time! due on the 26th i think still early days paranoid as i still feel like im gonna get my period but reading other peoples comments it seems perfectly normal have 3 older childern aged 14, 10, and 2[i like to space them out] congratulations to everyone

Julezboo · 19/02/2008 09:06

congrats Marie!!!

How is everyone today ?

DP is worrying about me, I think I may be a little bit dehydrated. But car is still broke so i get to rest today as well (well in between trips to put my head down the loo)

I cant bring myself to get excited about the next 7/8 weeks or possibly more like this. I am a crap mother, partner, friend at the moment. Not coping at all

My DS(5) goes into hospital tomorrow to have 6th teeth out, DP will be off work so I dont have to deal with it alone.

Gosh that turned intoa whinge sorry!!

daisyj · 19/02/2008 09:41

Julezboo, you poor thing - I'm sure none of the people who care about you would want you to be so hard on yourself. This just has to be YOU time. It's not selfish or anything, you just have to look after yourself and the bean (what do I know, it's only my first time, but that's the theory I'm working on if I get stressed or anxious, and I'm not even feeling ill). Sounds like your DP is taking care of the practical things...
