some of the contents changed I think. I've just skim read pieces of what clothes, where to buy etc. That definately wasn't in the 2003 edition otherwise I would have been shopping at other places than DP's limited range of maternity wear.

twinklytoes · 11/02/2008 20:32

Oh and theres this little pregnancy record book with stickers to fill in as you go.

mines up for grabs if anyone wants it.

tedmundo · 11/02/2008 21:30

hello everyone

been lurking for a few days but it has been a bit quiet on here hasn't it?

Got my dates now for booking in, dating scan and I have also booked my nt scan

I have arranged the dating scan to be when I think I will be 11 weeks (I have bonkers cycles so it is all a bit vague) so that the nt scan will be at what I think is 12 weeks - but I wanted to dating scan a bit early in case my dates are completely screwed and I was so worried about missing the nt scan window.

Do you think I have done the right thing? I am now getting really stressed as if I try all the different possible variations of date of lmp and date of conception on the pregnancy calendar (PLEASE say you guys do this too - I feel like i am neurotic!) then it may be 10w+6d at the dating scan. I did check on the National Institute of Clinical Excellence website and it says dating scan are recommended between 10-14 weeks.

So sorry about this random ranting post. I think getting the appointments booked in have sent me into a spiral. Also ds is on another hunger strike but don't get me stated on that.

Hope everyone is well and not puking too much

twinklytoes · 11/02/2008 21:59

guess everyone is tired.

you're very organised. Referral went to hosp via GP today so have to sit tight and wait for my appointments. not having nt scan though. I wouldn't worry too much - the radiologist will just re-book if necessary.

no nausea here yet - am expecting it to hit soon and make the cover up at work even harder.

tedmundo · 11/02/2008 22:07

hi TT

oh poor you having to pretend to be "normal" at this time! I am a sahm so spared that this time round thankfully.

the midwife sorted the booking in and dating scan for me actually. The are v organised in bristol. I did phone ante natal clinic to make it 1 week earlier to 11 weeks as she booked it bang on 12 weeks and as I said above i was concerned that if at 12 week dating scan they actually say I am 13 weeks that does make it hard for the nt scan to be fitted in.

And nt scan only booked already as DH so busy at work I literally had to book this in with him!

I am no spring chicken so feel better having the nt scan - even if it makes no difference to the pregnancy I just want to know iykwim.

CantSleepWontSleep · 11/02/2008 22:13

Sounds sensible tedmundo.

I found Emma's Diary very twee last time, so doubt it will have improved enough for me to bother reading this time around. Expect I'll be given one on Friday though when I see the m/w.

My exemption card arrived in the post today - even quicker than I remembered from last time.

Welcome Charlotte. How can you know that it's a boy already ?

CantSleepWontSleep · 11/02/2008 22:14

How old are you tedmundo?

twinklytoes · 11/02/2008 22:19

right checking out for the evening, the bed calls. RL bekons for next few days so will see you all on friday.

tedmundo · 11/02/2008 22:24

33 - which depending on how old you are will have you going ... "no spring chicken? - ah get away with you girl, you are a wee slip of a lass" OR "yep - you is ancient, dude!"

Hey - all I can say in my defense is that I FEEL ancient today! And the mirror agrees with me!

And with ds not eating AGAIN (although he is just cutting his first tooth so may forgive him this time) that always adds a decade or two on as well.

CantSleepWontSleep · 11/02/2008 22:37

I'm only a bit older really. 34 (35 in August).

tedmundo · 11/02/2008 22:38

hi myjobismum - v glad to hear about your mini milestone. I bled at 6 weeks with ds so will also be glad to be 7w.

I also have lost the symptoms. So much so I may well do another test tomorrow morning. My poor dh is already tired of my neurotic obbsessing about this pregnancy - it is going to be a long time to October...

That makes much more sense to me to do it all at once. Sounds like you have a good health authority there.

tedmundo · 11/02/2008 22:41

Ah CSWS - that was mean of you. I was feeling like a right twerp there for a minute! Let's make us both feel better and say that mid thirties are the new 21 hey?

CantSleepWontSleep · 11/02/2008 22:43

21 today, 21 today, who's got the key to the door, never been 21 before...... tra la la

07mumstheword · 12/02/2008 07:57

Morning everyone.

Tedmundo I think I've said before that I'm in Bristol too. Can I ask is your doctor/midwife sending you for a 12 wk scan purely for dating purposes due to your cycles? I'm due to see my GP in a couple of wks and I want to ask for a 12 wk scan but I know from previous conversations she is not keen to do so.

I was going to tell her my cycles are anything from 25-32 days which is true, does anyone know if that is irregular enough for the medical profession to deem a 12 wk scan necessary?

Also when is it recommeded you have the NT scan? Is it 14-16 wks?

sambrads · 12/02/2008 08:49

good morning ladies

mtw can you please tell me what an NT scan is????

i have to wait til 16 weeks for my dating scan then 22 weeks for the next one

i think they do leave you too long only for me actually having that early scan to see how many there is i would definately be cracking up!!!!

you all know im training for this marathon well i felt quite thin this morning after jogging 6 mile yesterday and pulled out my diesel jeans which i have not worn since having ds and they both fitted i ould not believe it !!!!

i will be able to wear them for a few weeks then i will have to put them away again
at the weekend i ate a dominos pizza and a chinese so i am definately not dietin

Nuchal translucency sambrads. An optional test for Downs.

tedmundo · 12/02/2008 09:44

Morning all

07mumstheword - the midwife just went ahead and booked it and then told me when it would be. I am linked to Southmead - do you think this is the difference? Are you linked to St Michael's?

My cycles don't sound that much more random than yours. Mine can be 29-41 and my lmp was 2nd Jan so I think she wanted me dated for that reason. Sounds like you should be too really for the same reasons.

Sambrads - Diesel jeans?? That fit?! How jealous am I? Peacocks is my friend these days.

tedmundo · 12/02/2008 09:45

Also - nt scan should be between 11-14 weeks. The Spire hospital in Cliftopn (formerly Bupa) does it for £196.

bethoo · 12/02/2008 09:55

sambrands- well donw at 6 mile jog, how long did it take you to do? >

myjobismum and pistachio - i too have reached 6 weeks!!! Yay!!!

07mumstheword · 12/02/2008 10:08

Tedmundo I'll be Southmead too. I will push my GP for a dating scan. Thanks for the info.

Sam I can't fit in any of my jeans without them feeling tight at the moment so I'm very

Pistachio I hope your bread and water went down well...and stayed down.
