Lie-ins and time to yourself . How do you manage that?

Why do you feel the need to keep below 150 heart rate pistachio?

Still a fight teeth brushing here too. We only do it once a day, and have to pin her down almost every time .

again. My dh rarely takes dd out without me, and if she's in the house then she naturally gravitates towards me (well, mostly towards my boobs ).

Thanks for that link. Made interesting (skim) reading. I had specifically asked the question about heart rate when I had my programme review last week, because I vaguely remembered something about it from last time, but woman assured me that heart rate didn't matter (I regularly get heart rate warnings on the stepper as I tend to reach 170 very quickly).

sambrads · 11/02/2008 08:50

hi ya ladies

when i say i am doing a marathon it will consist of 9 miles (half marathon) which i will power wak probably most jog and run very little

Morning all. Away at a wedding at the weekend and am knackered. Long day, totally sober, lots of standing and the nausea has started. They even had oysters which are my fave thing and I couldn't have one! Have begun to get waves of nausea, not as bad as with DD though but perhaps it will get worse. Just need to keep eating.

Sambrads - are you REALLY doing a marathon?? I cycle to and from work which is about 45 mins each way and kept this up last time until about 5.5 months - didn't know the stuff about heart rate but I found it much easier than being jammed on the tube as if I felt sick I could just stop. I think some exercise is very good for you in pregnany but don't know about marathons - you must be super fit!

Re teeth brushing - DD is 14 months and I asked my dentist about this the other day and she said not to worry too much as they're not having the same diets as us - and as long as you steer clear of sweet stuff its just a matter of getting them used to holding the brush rather than actually cleaning. DD only has 4 teeth though..

Hope everyone else is feeling ok today.

SydneyB · 11/02/2008 08:55

Just read further down in the weekend messages - Julezboo, I'm sorry, fingers crossed for some positive news at your scan, keep us posted

07mumstheword · 11/02/2008 09:36

Sambrads I really admire you I couldn't even run for a bus let a alone a half marathon

No symptoms except the odd wave of nausea and tiredness for me. I had 10 hours sleep last night and I'm still tired this morning. I'm only 4 wks today, in a way I wish I didn't test so early as it seems like a looongg way to go yet.

Hope there are some lovely symptoms coming on for everyone else.

bethoo · 11/02/2008 09:39

07mtw - i am 6 weeks and still no symptoms - spent most of yesterday in bed but i think that had more ot do with being lazy and bored!! did not sleep much as my 11 month old was haning on to the headboard and stepping on my hair and face! i get little waves of sickness but more prob to do with hunger and maybe i am pychologically thinking i have symptoms!!

07mumstheword · 11/02/2008 09:52

Bethoo It's lovely to hear that you have little symptoms and you are two wks ahead of me. I didn't get symptoms until about 6 wks with DD so I shouldn't expect any yet really I just think that if I felt sick I would think things are going well, that does make a bit of sense doesn't it?

CantSleepWontSleep · 11/02/2008 09:52

Well much respect to you sambrads! You are obviously far fitter than I (not hard ).

Yuk at oysters Sydney - they are probably the only food that I would turn down - make me gag!

Bethoo - please try to stop worrying about your lack of symptoms. I had absolutely NONE with dd, and she turned out just fine, and only have the sore nipples so far this time.

bethoo · 11/02/2008 09:58

thanks csws- i am a panicker!!! i am just going with the flow now.

fairydust2 · 11/02/2008 10:01

Bethoo, we're at exactly the same stage and every time you describe a symptom, I think "I have that too". I've been having waves of nausea but have been wondering if it's psychological or due to hunger. It's too much of a coincidence that we are both experiencing the same thing so I hope that means things are going well for both of us.

bethoo · 11/02/2008 10:03

fairydust- i hope so too! >

SydneyB · 11/02/2008 10:59

bethoo - saw a friend at the weekend who had no symptoms at all with her first LO and sadly, since then has m/c twice - before both m/c she felt dreadful, nausea, the works. Strange to send you this as a comfort but just goes to show that the lack of symptoms thing isn't always something to worry about.

loulou33 · 11/02/2008 11:22

Hiya all,

Just had booking appt and bloods taken - owwww!!! How do i explain to my colleagues that i have a hole in my arm (i know a bit of an exaggeration but it hurt). Got appt for scan on 28th - can't wait (17 days and counting!!) Got my exemption cert - so off to ebay now to see who wants it...

Ds finally gave in to toothbrushing - he much prefers watching his teeth being brushed in the mirror so he can see what i'm doing - or brushing my teeth at the same time (although he's not very good at it!!). he's usually ok but i think he's second molars are coming through. When i took him to the dentist, he said, its really important to brush twice a day, particularly molars as they get full of food. He was looking in ds' mouth at the time and he said 'there - that's why' - he pointed to what looked like 1/2 a raisin in one of his teeth!! When i explained what it was he then said. 'Ah but don't forget, fruit sugars are just as bad for your teeth as refined sugars. Sanctamonious git!!!

God, so many things to get right for your child and so little time.....

CantSleepWontSleep · 11/02/2008 11:33

Yes, my post natal group had a talk from a dentist, where he said that from a dentistry point of view, it was better to have chocolate buttons than raisins, as at least the choc button would dissolve, whereas the raisin stays stuck to teeth.

DD's 5th tooth was a molar, and she just has her 4 back molars left to come now.

Not long to wait for your scan loulou .

bethoo · 11/02/2008 12:58

chocolate buttons all the way it is!!! must teach him to share!!

thanks SydneyB i know i go on about lack of symptoms, i agree about it too though it is a worry, my mm/c i was sick up til scan date thouhg i stopped feeling tired at 8 weeks. i am going ot stop going on about it now me thinks. you will all be the first to know when i feel sick!!!

just got back from the gym, feel good.

I'm officially in the system now - saw GP today and go the ball rolling.

the systems have changed so much since I last was here 3 yrs ago. I will get a 12wk scan this time.

tho Emmas Diary is still the same. Anyone got the lloyds freebie from it?

charlotteryder · 11/02/2008 16:05

Just found out, Third DS is due October 4th, where are you going to have it?

loulou33 · 11/02/2008 16:45

What's emmas diary???
God, i thought i was being a good parent giving him raisins rather than chocolate - right chocolate all the way [although it makes him hyper as does most sugar] - great - hyper vs no teeth!! I can't win

sambrads · 11/02/2008 17:35

hi ya twinkletoes yes i got emmas diary as well

emmas diary is a book which just gives you advice on being pregnant and what to expect its quite funny actually .

i have to wait til im 16 weeks before i can get my bloods done and booking scan as they said the hospital is so busy .
aparently christmas and new year is a very popular time for people to get pregnant???

loulou you cant give your kids anything without something being wrong with it .my health visitor said i should not give my OBESE yes OBESE son bananas as they are fattening .they said he was classed as OBESE because he is slightly over his average weight by like a whole pound which i was so mad about !!!!!!

how can he be obese they say they are cracking down on weight early .what does she want me to do put him on a weightwatchers diet?????

twinklytoes · 11/02/2008 19:31

loulou - you can have my copy if you want.

round here it seems that June / July is going to be very busy between myself and a friend we know 15 people all due!

back into work tomorrow, I've got to do a course which I really shouldn't be doing as it'll go against my pg risk assessment. Hoping I can get out of it without giving the game away.

twinklytoes · 11/02/2008 19:32

apologies Charlotte - hello, welcome and congrats. I'm on my 3rd too.

bethoo · 11/02/2008 20:02
