Hi all,

Sorry i've been absent but had too much to do at work and was in bed for 9.30 last night. At least i spelt well but feel sick, sick, sick all the time. This is not helped by an arrogant over-weight tosser at work being rude to me in a meeting - think i might be over-emotional about but didn't cry, just went very red and quiet - not like me at all....

Sorry to hear about your scan being delayed sam - can't wait to hear what's in there (ie one or two!!). Hope everyone else is ok and not too sicky.

Sorry to hear your news lissielou - take care xxx

fruitloop79 · 07/02/2008 16:24

evening , loulou I just read your comment about you colleague and thought that if you threw up all over him that would probably shut him up .

sam sorry about the scan but it is nearly time now.

I have been sick for the 1st time so I feel quite happy which is nuts cos I hate being sick and was so ill last time, but I think it is a good sign. Apart from that I'm just so tired I am not doing any work just staring at the screen all day I wonder how long before anyone notices??

Julezboo · 08/02/2008 07:30

hedge - yay for being sick!

I was in such a state yesterday i was sooo il!!

Is anyone preg with their 3rd or more? How are your stretching pains??? My bleeding has practically stopped now but i have had really bad pains since yesterday Leaving for my scan in about half an hour x

CantSleepWontSleep · 08/02/2008 08:12

Good luck with the scans today ladies.

It's dd's 2nd b'day today, so I have a very busy day ahead, and probably won't be around until this evening. Will check in for scan results then though.

daisyj · 08/02/2008 09:35

Hello all. I have a question: I noticed when I weighed myself at the gym the other week (before my BFP) that I'd lost about 2-3 pounds. Normally I never shift an ounce from 8 stone, but I put it down to having cut down drastically on alcohol. Weighed myself again today and find I have lost over 5 pounds in the last month. I'm not a big exerciser, just like to swim two-three times a week. I feel great, no symptoms, but just wondered whether it's 'normal'/OK to see this kind of weight loss if you're not vomiting. I'm eating more healthily, three meals a day, but not fancying snacks at the moment (unusual for me - I'm normally a five-meals-a-day kind of person). So could just be I'm taking on a bit less food...

I'm 5'3" and small build, by the way, so don't look really skinny or anything.

What do you think? Anyone else the same? Just feel a bit anxious as it seems a lot of weight in such a short space of time.

I'm seeing doc for first visit Monday, but it would be nice to know personal experiences.

twinklytoes · 08/02/2008 09:43

julez, I'm on my 3rd. still early days here so not feeling anything yet. good luck with scan.

daisy think its normal to lose weight in the earlydays - baby taking everything it can get its hands on!. with dds every weigh in with the mw for first four months I'd lost something, not much.

Hoonette · 08/02/2008 10:12

Welcome to Spink and Chicken! Spink, I will also have a 17-month yr old when the new baby arrives, so we can swap horror stories/tell each other how easy it is.

twinklytoes · 08/02/2008 10:49

i'm so jealous sambrands - i won't get a scan till 20weeks. tried to push for a 12wk last time but to no avail.

anyone know if you can reclaim dental costs once you've got the nhs exempt card? got a 6mth dental check up in two weeks, doubt I'll have the card by then.

ronshar · 08/02/2008 10:59

Hello to all the lucky ones who get to join in with madness of early pregnancy!

Julezboo, I am on my third and i have been getting lots of pains etc. I dont remember getting these with dd's. Also I have a bit of cm. I also dont remember that but then my dd's are 8 & 3.6, so it has been a while.
I went to surgery this week. No gp appointments unless emergency, so made appointment with midwife for next week! Will be 7 weeks then so will try to push for scan.

We are all off snowboarding tomorrow so will be having a week off. Unless the chalet has wireless then I may sneak a peek.
Have a good week and I hope everyone is still here when I get back.

ronshar · 08/02/2008 11:01

How fantastic Sambrads. A heart beat and everything. Yipee.

Cancel your dentist and go when you get your card, you dont get money back!!! I dont think you get cert untill 20 weeks do you??

fairydust2 · 08/02/2008 11:03

Oh Sambrads, I am so happy for you! That sounds really positive if you heard a heartbeat.

What I'm not so happy about is that you've lost a stone . I've put on loads of weight in the last couple of weeks.

fairydust2 · 08/02/2008 11:05

I thought you got your exemption card at the first booking in appointment. My dd's 3 so been a long time for me too.

Have a great holiday ronshar!

07mumstheword · 08/02/2008 11:09

Hi Daisy* Congratulations.

Sambrads How wonderful, it was worth waiting for.

I'm having a wobbly day today. One of those days where it's too good to be true I must be positive. I'm actually looking forward to being sick.

kookiegoddess · 08/02/2008 11:30

has anyone been for an early scan? I 'm 6+2 and am keen to go to St Georges for one just to reassure myself. I get teary all the time wondering if LO is ok.

MrsBish · 08/02/2008 12:22

So glad to hear everything's ok for you Sambrands. Now just put your feet up (when you can!) and take it easy!

hello to everyone else too

bethoo · 08/02/2008 13:05

i have been feling light headed as well as crampy, is that a symptom (she says hopefully!!) )

fairydust2 · 08/02/2008 13:09

Bethoo - I've had both of those today so they must be symptoms. Feeling dizzy and lightheaded was my biggest symptom with my dd.

Julezboo · 08/02/2008 13:21
