Well done PocketTasha and Pollyanna. Wonderful news!

Not a lot happening here. House almost finished. Baby stuff almost organized. Mum-to-be almost relaxing!!!

Lots of BH and they're getting more frequent, especially in the evening. Lots of odd pains in the pelvis, groin and inner thighs, which apparently is a good thing according to my midwife. (Doesn't feel that great when your leg gives way half way up the stairs!) And lots of weeing - four or five times a night. No other signs yet, although I have been eating like mad the last couple of days. Is this my body stocking up for labour I wonder?

Best wishes to all for now.

Had a chat with the bump yesterday and said we were aiming for the 21st, could he/she please comply; will be interested to see if this works.

fufmum · 10/01/2005 10:58

Well done Pollyanna - look forward to reading your story soon. Hope you have more energy.

We are all getting on fine - the babies are putting weight on really well, and every time I go out people say I'm looking really well! It is great to feel so much better...

Hold in there ladies, it is worth feeling so sh*y!!

starlover · 10/01/2005 11:15

Hi!

Congrats to those of you who have already popped out their Jan babies!
I am dueI am so excited (first baby), and also in pain- can't walk anywhere! so the sooner it comes the better.
People keep telling me to enjoy the last couple of weeks, but it's hard when you're stuck at home all day with nothing to do (apart from pee-ing every 10 mins!)
My friend has been living with us for the past few months and moved out on the 7th so I got to decorate the baby's room... but that's all done now so I am just sat here waiting...

Anyone have any ideas on how to pass the time?????

smellymelly · 10/01/2005 11:16

Sleep while you can, starlover!

starlover · 10/01/2005 11:16

hmmm, I seem to have managed to erase the part of my message which said when I am due!
(i think i'll blame the computer)
Baby should be along on the 25th, but am hoping it'll be sooner!

starlover · 10/01/2005 11:17

ahh, yes, sleeping would be nice.
Baby seems to know when I am in bed and keeps me up half the night by doing riverdance and gymnastics.

fufmum · 10/01/2005 11:19

Starlover we all sympathise with you honestly!! Apart from coming on MN every now and again and popping out with my mum for an hour, i don't do anything either. I hate it when people say that about enjoying it, bit hard when you can't get your feet into any shoes and need a loo handy constantly!

SM pleased to hear you and you little ones are doing well!

artyjoe · 10/01/2005 11:46

Know how you feel, I'm not amused at the mo, constant pain blah blah blah...bored of hearing it from myself!

Have managed to wangle a consultant appointment for this wednesday so am going to beg to be induced, my MW has now said no way to a home labour so I may as well be induced now rather than in another 10 days in my opinion. Another 10 days gives her an opportunity to grow another 2cms and 2.5 pounds which will probably give me no chance of a natural birth. Having said that, if they offered me a c section today I'd go in without question!

I've found trawling through catalogues to choose my spring/summer wardrobe quite a pleasing way to pass some time Also shopping online with Ocado, haven't done the shop yet but playing around with the shopping list whittles away a few hours!

Hope everyone is well - Joe

starlover · 10/01/2005 12:00

aww. sorry you can't have your home birth artyjoe.
I am passing the time right now by sewing buttons onto the vast quantity of cardigans/pram suits/jackets that my lovely nana has knitted.

Pagan · 10/01/2005 13:48

Congrats to the new Mums - bet you're thrilled to bits

starlover · 11/01/2005 11:57

still bored, still in pain... but going to risk the great outdoors today and go to buy more buttons!
wooooo

artyjoe · 11/01/2005 12:15

Hi Starlover, ditto!

Am just counting the hours until consultant appointment tomorrow where I'm going to beg and cry my eyes out and emotionally blackmail him to induce me this week!

I feel worse today as my next door neighbour gave birth yesterday and her baby will be home within 48 hours which I know will make my 58 hour days seem even longer once I see her with her bundle of joy!

starlover · 11/01/2005 12:24

i hope they give you what you want! am hoping that mine will decide to arrive early.
are you good friends with your neighbour? It'll be so lovely to both have babies at the same time!

artyjoe · 11/01/2005 12:30

I moved next door exactly 9 months ago, so we've been pregnant together since we met! I think they will be different parents to us and possibly competitive, but we are not that way so hopefully it will work out fine. I am hoping it guarantees our children will have friends for life

PocketTasha · 11/01/2005 12:39

Hi everyone

Congratulations Pollyanna!

I feel terrible for everyone who has gone over. I really hope it happens for you soon.

I will say one thing about being induced, for me it was a lot more painful than normal labour. So if any of you girls have to have it, be prepared that it could be. I didn't really believe it before, but the pain is different.

However, depending on your pain relief plans it might not make that much difference. And i think the general feel is that ANYTHING at this stage, is worth it. I haven't forgotten that feeling quite yet.

Good luck to you all, i am patiently waiting for our Jan babies 2005 thread! There aren't quite enough of us for it yet!

My baby boy is doing really well, and i am wishing the same for all of you very very soon.

BigBird · 11/01/2005 14:32

Congrats Pollyanna and I'm sure there are more by now.

I had a baby boy on 5th Jan (was due on 4th). Contractions started 8pm on 4th and my waters broke at 12:40am 5th. Was 9cm an hour later and no time for the epidural which I wanted !!! He was born at 2:30am and weighs 8lb 2. Feeding is tough & sore but it's so great having a little bundle after all this time !

Good luck to everyone else waiting.

fufmum · 11/01/2005 15:12

Just been to docs for ante-natal and have left feeling really low. Baby is still only 4/5 engaged and i really wanted better news than that!
I am sooo fed up today and am trying hard to hold the tears back. I feel like i have been pregnant forever and i have had enough now! i hate going out as i can't get my feet into most of my footwear, i am not sleeping at night because my hips and back ache so much!If nothing has happened by 23rd i will be given a sweep, really don't want that. They only let you go over by ten days here,in London it was 2 weeks. Something has to happen soon, i have decided baby is grounded already for putting me through all this for at least 6months

awww, i feel for you fufmum!
am having the same probs with sleeping, it hurts to lie in one place for too long, but it hurts even more to move onto my other side!
and i'm not due til 25th!

artyjoe · 11/01/2005 16:01

Fufmum & Starlover, I can sooo relate. Got no sleep last night due to pelvic pain and heartburn, to say nothing about baby doing rollypoly's. I know I can't cope for another 8 days (which is when they are talking about inducing or C section anyway) so am going in to beg for induction this week rather than next. My baby is absolutely HUGE and I'm 39 + 4 so no reason not to as far as I'm concerned.

I weighed myself today and have gained 10 pounds in 10 days and i now weigh 20.4...as if I wasn't already finding today hard I had to do that to myself

Hey ho, lets hope the consultant gives in easily tomorrow or there will be a big scene

starlover · 11/01/2005 16:45

my supersize bottle of gaviscon now lives next to the bed!
good job i love aniseed as much as i do

Angeliz · 11/01/2005 16:48

starlover, so does mine
(I'm lurking from the due in FEB thread), i used to go down and get my gaviscon until i realised i needed one wherever i may be, (slimy bloody stuff).
