Hey! I'm due #4 (#3 for DF) in Feb 2023. I've just got my BFP. This will be our only child together, and our last. I'm super excited to be here and would love to talk to other mamas at a similar stage.

My EDD based on LMP is 27th Feb, however 2 of my 3 children were overdue and so I'm expecting that will be the case this time.

Welcome :))

Hey! I’m also EDD 27.2.22 based off LMP. Got my BFP today after period was late for 3 days or so. How are you all feeling? This is my first, so many emotions!

The only reason I took a test was because my boobs have been so sore for the last week.

This is my first, feeling a little scared as this was definitely not on the cards for 2022…but we roll with it! And I did tell my partner I’d love a baby by the time I’m 31, which I will just be by the end of feb 🤭

We’re all very close together for dates!
August feels very far away for 12 week scan doesn’t it?

@HappyPie82 so far away! I might book an early scan at 8 weeks just for some reassurance. How are you feeling? Has your partner processed the news lol?! Mine keeps looking at me saying I had tricked him, because I said TTC can take a while lol!

@Ellswells3 I broke the news to him when he got back from a festival. And he’s rolling with it way more than me 😅 Needed about 2 mins to process

Definitely in shock to.
My friend joked on Friday I would be the next to get pregnant (we were at a baby shower) I said no way! We were planning ttc until this time next year 😳. So this is a very happy surprise!
mare you calling the GP today or letting it sit for a while?

Oh wow! I’m sure some people are psychic lol!
I have called my Gp this morning as they wanted to refer me to epau once I conceived due to an underlying medical condition so I have done that. I think I will self refer to the midwifery team later this week or maybe next week, I feel like I’m making this up!

hey! I found out yesterday I'm pregnant with no. 2... still in shock as despite us agreeing to try this month I didn't think we'd timed it well and we only had sex twice lol! Dates put me at 4 weeks and 1 day... very very nervous!

Hi, I want to jump in too! I'm about 7+2 at the moment. The FATIGUE, oh my god, the fatigue. I can barely work (and I work from home so obviously it doesn't involve much physical effort) and I feel nauseous 24/7. Haven't been sick yet but I'm emetophobic and throw absolutely everything I can at the nausea to force myself to hold it in... so far. Been prescribed cyclizine for the unrelenting nausea.

I'm so excited - it's my first pregnancy, and my and my husband have dreamed of becoming parents for so long. It was only our second cycle of trying so we were quite surprised!

I booked an early scan for 8 weeks, am torn over whether to cancel or not tbh, medically it's not necessary as I'm low risk as far as I know, but I just got really excited, lol.

Good luck everyone <3 may the first trimester have mercy on us all.

Hi ladies :) I'm 4+3 today and have already booked myself in with the midwife lol. You do it all online now! Its great. My booking apt is in 27 days. Its soooooo far away. Then I know there'll be a wait for the scan. So I'm also debating booking an early one. I know its not medically necessary for me either, but it's such a weird time, with hardly any symptoms and without knowing how it's doing in there. I'd just like the reassurance really. I've not booked one yet but I'm considering it. I think I just want to see the heartbeat. :)

How's everyone else getting on? We tried for this bubba but I swear DF is waaaaay more excited than I am bless his heart. I think once I've seen a scan and know we're okay I'll be a lot more excited. I'm counting down to when we'll be able to see a HB and so time is going remarkably slow.

Hey ladies,

Congratulations to you all 💖 I got my BFP on 9th June, due around 16th February.
My periods have been so irregular for the past year so according to my last period I would have been 13 weeks when I found out, ended up getting a scan and and I am just 6 weeks today.

This will be our 3rd and last baby so I am cherishing and enjoying every moment of it. Even the morning sickness!

I hope we all have little sticky beans.

Lots of love

Room for one more? We got our BFP yesterday after just over a year of TTC. EDD is also 27th Feb. Actually had a GP appointment booked for next week to look into why it wasn't happening, will happily cancel that appointment now.

All feels surreal atm. Pretty much spent the last 24 hours googling but not sure what I was hoping to find out!

When is everyone telling their friends and families?

Hi 👋 congratulations! We have already told our close family.. Just couldn't keep it in lol. When are you planning to tell your family and friends? X

@Nutellafromthejar (love the name!!)

I told my Mum the day we found out because I was in shock (totally planned but still a surprise lol!) and it’s something I would naturally share with her (I would want her to know / her support if anything happened).

We aren’t sure what to do about telling everyone else. We have booked a private 8 week scan and I think if all looks normal at that point we will tell my DHs parents and sisters and my Dad and brother and then a couple of our best best friends. They are the people that we would again want support from if anything changed, and also I don’t want to have a whole 3 out of the 9 months a secret! We want to be able to talk and be excited about it. I do however understand everyone’s very personal reasons and I must say I am very anxious about everything being ok. I don’t think I will ever relax though.

Also exciting news, I got my 12 week USS appt in the post today! For bang on 12/40 according to my LMP date. I can’t wait! I self referred to maternity online so assume I’ll also hear from community midwife soon too…

@Ellswells3 @mummyxmaxwell thats reassured me you’ve both started to tell people. I always thought I’d keep it a secret until 12 weeks but that seems like such a long time now. Also my DH family live really far away and we’re seeing them in 2 weeks and probably won’t see them again until xmas so was thinking it would be nice if we told them when we visit. But I’ll only be 7 weeks. I’d want my family to know first because we’re really close and they’ll be super happy as it’ll be their first grandchild. If I had an early scan at 6 + 4 do you think they’d see much? Then tell everyone after the scan?!

@Ellswells3 that seems really quick to get your appointment through. I think my NHS trust is a bit behind the times. I filled out a self referral yesterday which had to be done by email and got an automated response saying I won’t hear anything for around 14 days!

Another question. We’re supposed to be flying long haul for my 30th when I’ll be 12 weeks. We haven’t paid the final balance yet and I’m wondering if I should cancel. For those of you that have been pregnant before would you have felt fit to fly 14 hours at 12 weeks? So much to think about!

So I had a scan yesterday and was 6 weeks.

It looked like a little hot air balloon lol, just could see the yolk sac and then a little line which is the fetal pole, we did see a little flicker on screen which she said was a heartbeat 😍

But they grow so much in the space of a week xx

Hey @Nutellafromthejar funnily enough I’m flying long haul at the end of July / beginning of Aug and will be about 9-10 weeks or so. I have googled it and there is no reason you can’t fly but need to be mindful of drinking plenty, getting up and walking around and I will wear flight socks too! X

Hey Mamas - 6weeks +2 here 👋

This is baby number 2 for me. Feeling super exhausted, nauseous… I literally threw up after changing my toddlers nappy today 😂

Question for any second timers - is anyone feeling mega bloated? Last pregnancy I didn’t show for months, but by the end of the day I feel like I have a little bulge. Is it in my head? Or is it just gas from all the carbs I’m craving🤷 Would love to hear how you all feel. X

CourgetteAndCrisps · 25/06/2022 19:50

Hey @Nutellafromthejar I flew several times when I was pregnant - Keep hydrated and get up for a walk/ stretch at regular intervals. Fingers crossed someone spies you for an upgrade too 😉

The biggest concerns are flying too late in pregnancy (incase you go into labour on the plane) and a slightly increased chance of DVT (which movement and hydration will help with).

My dad lives abroad - I haven’t told him the news yet and he’s trying to line up a trip for me to fly out in December 😂 I’m coming up with all sorts of reasons to stall at the moment, as the airline won’t physically let me fly then! I think it might be easier just to tell him x

Hi Caarlee, congratulations how over the moon are you 😊 such an exciting time x

Ladies have any of you started suffering with morning sickness. Mine started last week and yesterday it's the worst it has been I felt sick all day and all night long I hardly ate or drunk yesterday, just made me feel worse. I feel exactly the same today, its so draining 😞
