Oh Gawd No, that's even the brand I use (think mine is nect shade up but not sure)! PMSL! (and lets face it when youa re 30 weeks gone, PM when laughing is kinda inevitable )

Do a stripe of fringe VS, if you don't want to do the rest tell all the kids you're an emo and you'll play suicidal music at them if they comment

VictorianSqualor · 22/01/2008 18:05

It's not going to work, I just checked the strand tests, only the top of the hair has coloured

I rather like MCR thankyou very much

PortAndLemon · 22/01/2008 18:27

Do you have anything else on your hair already? (e.g. henna?)

VictorianSqualor · 22/01/2008 18:31

I dyed it back ages ago before I was pregnant actually but I assume its because of that.

I got a matrnity pillow and I don't like it at all for sleeping. It's too big to fit under the side of my belly. However it's great for sitting up on the couch watching TV and will make a great breastfeeding pillow.

I don't know how to bath a newborn either but the sink sounds like a good idea.

I have just been to see my friends baby who is 4 days old. She is so gorgeous and tiny. I can't wait for my own!

I'm on my second bag of cheese & onion Tayto crisps. I love them so much. (anyone Irish knows what I'm on about). Good job I don't live here or that's all I'd eat !

My friends here are telling me I'm neat despite the fact that I have put on almost 2 stone

Is it ok to dye your hair when you're preggers?

chipmonkey · 22/01/2008 19:27

Oh yeah, especially Tayto sandwiches!!!!!!
And that's what friends are FOR, to tell you you're neat when you've put on 2 stone!
I gave ds1 a bath in a tiny plastic tub when he was 5 weeks old and he remembers it!!!! I know he definitely does because he was able to tell me where we were ( in my parent's living room by the fire!) and he was never bathed in it again as it was only big enough for a newborn.
Molly, I think it is fine to have your hair coloured in pregnancy, at least I always have and my children have turned out OK!

bunyanvillas · 22/01/2008 19:30

Hello! {{waves to all}} Sorry haven't been around for a while, am in house renovation hell and life has been very stressful and bump expanding rapidly! Scorpio, congrats on your wedding, how very exciting! And knitter, congrats on your new home!!

Peachy · 22/01/2008 21:37

the reasoning behind the ahir thing is twofold: 1/ pregnancy hair can react funny to hair dye (VS, I ahd to lighten my hair before using that colour). 2/ They can't test products on pregnant women for obvious ethical reasons (OK, we'll give this suspected teratogen (sp) to 50% of women and a placebo to the other 50% and see what happens....), so its much like sickness meds- theyc an't prove its safe, and they cant prove it isn't either.

Peachy · 22/01/2008 21:48

Isa nyone else getting a sense of coming-to-an-end now? have started thinking about which outfit to put for first or baby, and little things like that- scary deatiol stuff (you know, do I have spare toothpaste for my toiletry bag?).

Also starting to panic about how the Hell I am going to keep ds3 from accidentally squashing baby or whatever, not a malicious bone in him but he doesn't get it.

School are asking for a transfer to SN unit for him btw which I am oK about, but means I may well have him at home at least part time after Easter as their effing about measn there's unlikely to be an immediate place. Can see me taking up baby wearing as a safety solution, tbh.

Soph73 · 23/01/2008 09:35

Morning all. My DS doesn´t believe that we used to give him a bath in our friends sink when we used to stay, even though we´ve got the photos to prove it We´ve got a lovely big sink in our guest bathroom which we´re going to use for Sam.

Sheds75 · 23/01/2008 09:40

Morning all this talk on baths is quite interesting, I keep debating with DP how we are going to do it and he is quite keen on the bucket idea!

sagitta · 23/01/2008 10:00

Morning all! Welcome back bunyanvillas - sorry to hear you're having a tough time.
I am thinking of buying that foldaway bath now so DD can use it and we don't have to shower together any more. I haven't bought anything yet, though, and I would like to keep it that way. I'm a bit worried that once I start buying stuff, it'll be hard to stop!
Scorpio - I love Millie Scout.
We are completely stuck on baby names now - I thought we had one, but all our families hated it, so we're back to the drawing board.

EllieG · 23/01/2008 10:04

Never tell family - there's always one who says something and it spoils it. They can't say anything once baby is here and has that name.
I think Millie Scout is really cute btw

Mine is rapidly becoming a definite Molly. Can't think of her in any other way now.

sagitta · 23/01/2008 10:11

You're right, Ellie. Should have kept my mouth shut. BTW, Molly is at the top of our list again now. And actually I just read that Heath Ledger's daughter is called Matilda, I quite like that.

Mollyfloss · 23/01/2008 10:39

I like both Molly and matilda. Very sad abot Heath Ledger though. Poor little girl has no Dad now

I had this dream that I had to share my baby with one of my friends. It was like the baby had 2 sets of parents. It was awful. I didn't want to share at all. I wonder does that mean I'm going to be overprotective. I hope not. I don't like those stories of mothers who don't like it when other people hold the baby, even grandparents! I think it's good for babies to be passed around a bit. My friends baby was being passed around to everyone yesterday and it was lovely. There's something about babies that puts a huge smile on everyone's face

Mollyfloss · 23/01/2008 10:48

By the way, my real life name is not Molly at all or anything even like it. (my Mum used to call me Mollyfloss when I was a kid, don't know where she got that from)

chipmonkey · 23/01/2008 10:49

I was very precious about ds1 and didn't want anyone else to hold him. By the time I had ds3 I would have handed him to the bin-man to get a break!
I have booked a 3D scan in 3 weeks time! Really looking forward to it!

sagitta · 23/01/2008 11:00

It was a bit weird when I had dd that I really didn't get to hold her for about a week, as everyone else was. Newborns sort of belong to everyone, really. But when you get used to it, like Chipmonkey says, you are delighted when someone else wants to hold them and you get your arms back for a bit!
Exciting about the scan, chipmonkey

KnitterInTheNW · 23/01/2008 11:09

That's awful about Heath Ledger, I saw a knight's tale again a few weeks ago and my crush was re-awakened...

Millie Scout, Molly and Matilda all gorgeous, we've pretty much decided on George for our little man. Good solid name and looks so round when it's written down!

My mum just called, her favourite shop (one down the road from them in Leicester that sells ex chain store things for syupid prices) is closing down, and they had a safety 1st bouncy chair with vibration, for just over £6!! So we've got that, and yesterday I had a day at work (the job I was meant to have finished at xmas) and at the end of the day she gave me their old camera and monitor baby listener thing. It's not all that brilliant, the sound is very crackly so we're still getting a digital listener and just use that with the sound off as & when we want to. DH had a lovely time yesterday evening setting the camera up in the kitchen, and watching the tea cook from the comfort of the sofa!

Ellie, has the ebay lady mailed you back yet?

Scampmum · 23/01/2008 11:15

Am gutted about Heath Ledger! Poor little Matilda, and poor Michelle telling her she won't see Daddy again.

All well here, wearing belt which is helping a bit but not that much... yet... maybe it's a cumulative thing.

Getting very tired and really feeling the bulk now.

I got really irritated with the constant taking of DD. Especially when we got back from hospital (12 hours after she was born) and MIL settled herself on the sofa and grabbed her!

Sheds75 · 23/01/2008 11:29

Ummmmm just troffed on a lovely big bluberry muffin.....

sorry just had to tell someone how much I enjoyed it

Annieroo · 23/01/2008 11:29

Hello all,

haven't been on here for quite a while, so much to catch up on. Congrats Scorpio on your wedding, sounds like you had a lovely day.

Have been struggling with the bump for a few weeks now and wear a belt most of the time, but forgot to put it on today :-( so am just trying to put my feet up (luckily there's not many people in the office today).

My DP and i are planning to have a few days on our own with the baby after the birth so we don't have to put up with all the ILs!!

VictorianSqualor · 23/01/2008 11:59

Knitter, you want to hope baby doesnt come on 23rd April then, or for the REST of his life he'll be asked if it was becuase he was born on St.Georges day.

Heath

VS, the baby won't come on April 23rd, he'll be induced the last week of March! Actually it's DH's bday on the 23rd April, and mine on the 15th. He's my toyboy of 8 days!

sagitta · 23/01/2008 12:11

Sheds, I'd be jealous if I hadn't just scoffed 2 very yummy hot cross buns
