Thought I’d start this as a follow up from the ‘TTC NOVEMBER 2021’ thread for everyone who got their BFPs! ☺️

@CatsBooksAndRain I find walking really beneficial, especially since I’ve been working from home again. The weather has been great, which definitely helps with feeling less tired and reduced sickness.

chiatta · 17/01/2022 17:00

@Caslo have you found the heartbeat yet? How far along are you? I'm 10+3 and can't find it

Caslo · 17/01/2022 21:14

@chiatta Yeah first found it at 8+4 but it took a hell of a lot of patience and time. We've used it for both our children so are very familiar with how our particular one works. Listened to it again today and it's easier to find but still pretty hidden. Often it's hiding behind my heartbeat so it's easy to miss. It's just above the pubic line for me and to my right hand side slightly. Don't worry if you haven't found it yet, are you using ultrasound gel? I'm 10 weeks today x

Caslo · 18/01/2022 14:49

@Clodagh21 Hey sweet how have you been? x

chiatta · 18/01/2022 16:29

@Caslo I've got the gel. I've found my heart beat a couple of times. How long did it take you to find it the first time and how long does it take you on average to find it now?

Caslo · 18/01/2022 17:18

@chiatta I was using the Doppler from ridiculously early on.. at like 6 weeks even though I knew it was pointless! Hard to say how long it takes because I don't time it, but when it's been around 5 minutes and DH hasn't said anything I do worry a tiny bit because he's really good at finding it. It takes me a lot longer. Sometimes you have to angle it in a certain way, like today baby was more centre than it has been before and we couldn't get more than a faint heartbeat so I'm wondering if it had got behind the placenta or something. Keep persevering Smile which Doppler have you got? x

Hi all ,
I was on a July thread however after my "12 week scan" today dated by my midwife I'm actually 9 weeks 6 days so now have another scan booked 😩. I do have hormonal migraines and possibly my periods were adjusting themselves as I had only come off the pill the month before conceiving!

Heartbeat , brain and arms all seen on scan. It was like a teddy bear , but could make out there was a baby in there , there was me thinking I had got to the 12 week mark !.

My first day of last MP was 24/10/21 that's where we got 12 weeks from 🤷🏼‍♀️ xx

New DD 18th August x

miltonj · 19/01/2022 17:56

Had first scan today, baby fine, heard heartbeat and measuring 11 weeks 😊😊

That happened to me with my first baby! If heartbeat is fine then I'd try and relax especially as you have irregular periods, you likely ovulated late! Smile
CatsBooksAndRain · 19/01/2022 20:08

Congrats to your scans @miltonj and @Ims2017 ! 🙂

chiatta · 19/01/2022 23:10

@Caslo my partner found it yesterday!! We have a baby Doppler

Caslo · 21/01/2022 13:50

@chiatta Great news! It's SO amazing isn't it! Chuffed for you. Sorry didn't reply sooner, I didn't see the notification I'd been mentioned x

Emms2022 · 21/01/2022 14:22

Same, I got an early test, after 2 miss carriages, there was no way I wasn't! I'm 9 weeks today, due August 26th. Good luck with everything 🤞♥️

Emms2022 · 21/01/2022 14:32

Is anyone else totally exhausted? I've been in bed all week, I'm self employed so I've been able to do that, I had a miscarriage in aug 2021 and nov 2021 and I'm 9 weeks pregnant today, we couldn't believe it, although I did have an incling when 1 sip of vodka on NYE made me throw up lol, maybe my body just needs rest after everything, I've had an early scan and it showed the heart best and all looked good, my next scan is 2 weeks today, but the exhaustion thing is really starting to bother me, I may be anemic again, looking forward to getting a blood test done in 2 weeks XX

LT543 · 21/01/2022 19:08

@Emms2022 I’m 9 + 4 and absolutely exhausted too, have been for a few weeks or so now. My work is relatively flexible so I’ve managed to take a few day naps as I’m really really struggling. I just don’t seem to be sleeping well/getting good quality sleep at all. Had my booking in this week and bloods all came back fine. If I’m lucky enough everything is ok with baby and we make it to next tri I’m hoping exhaustion eases off!

I can't get over it, I was fine with my 1st pregnancy but that was 10 years ago when I was 30, I'm up 3 times a night at least to go to the bathroom, you know yourself, hope that's not TMI lol but seriously, I was diagnosed as anemic with one if my pregnancies and prescribed iron tablets for a short period, it needs to ease off soon, sooner the better, oh there's a reason females make babies and not men! Haha XX

LT543 · 21/01/2022 19:25

@Emms2022 oh for sure, I have nothing compare it to. I’m bang 30 and still struggling! My other half was moaning that I kept tossing and turning last night and disturbed his sleep. He’s actually very supportive but LOL. I’ve been taken pregnacare which I think have some iron in, I’m just counting down to my 12 wk scan to hopefully see that everything is ok and also in the hope my symptoms will start to ease as works just becoming super challenging when I’m so exhausted!!

I moan at every opportunity, but my partner is great and we laugh about him getting all my symptoms too, you'll notice it too, it's so funny, he'll ask me what I'm doing and I'll reply ' just making the next generation ' , I was full of energy with my first and had a girl, maybe it's a boy this time 😊 that's great you can work and same here, cannot wait until next scan, they are taking me a week early at 11 weeks, I found out yesterday, only cus I pushed for it mind you, I had no problems with my 1st pregnancy, only the hormones were mental, now I'm ok with the hormones, it's the exhaustion that's killing me, there's only so much Netflix and YouTube you can take lol I did work Monday, only had 3 clients and I've 2 tomorrow, I'm an eyelash technician, but I'm used to 7/8 clients a day, it's sooo frustrating, suppose that's pregnancy for ya and we need these chat groups to voice our thoughts as the other half listens but they don't totally get it, oh and all the shortcodes on thus site for words, is there a page that tells you what they all mean as I don't have s clue? Lol

CatsBooksAndRain · 22/01/2022 00:14

I'm exhausted too. Would normally be in the office but luckily have been working from home since 2021. This means if I need to sneak away and lie down on the sofa for 20 min, noone will notice. Still, my work is quite demanding and I can't really afford these interruptions. Should be able to work longer hours from time to time, but right now I'm struggling to stay awake throughout the minimum expected hours. Have to remind myself every morning that it's not the most important thing in my life right now but it's a quite a struggle.

Oh, I'd like an overview of all the acronyms used here too if there is one. Getting quite confused every now and then. 😅

Caslo · 22/01/2022 09:29

@CatsBooksAndRain I'll add a few here that I'm sure have been mentioned down-thread:

DH/DP - darling husband/partner
DPO - days past ovulation
MC - miscarriage
MMC - missed miscarriage
MP/LMP - menstrual period/last menstrual period
EPU - early pregnancy unit

Hope this helps x

Yes definitely echo the comments about exhaustion. So knackered. I fell asleep on the sofa yesterday whilst my DD built a tower of cushions on top of me! Last time the exhaustion and the nausea miraculously disappeared once I'd entered the second trimester, so am rather banking on that happening again 🤞

miltonj · 22/01/2022 11:09

Exhaustion here too! I feel so shit today, knackered and feeling so sick, and a headache that won't shift. My husband is at work today as well till midnight so no help with the toddler. Feeling a bit guilty as she's been watching a lot more TV than usual lately and then house is a tip.

CatsBooksAndRain · 23/01/2022 10:18

As my 12week scan us coming closer and I'll need to decide whether to test for those scary conditions (Down's, Edward's and Patau's), I'm wondering if you are all getting tested for these? Trying to understand if it happens often that women choose not to or is rather an exception?

SantiagoSister · 23/01/2022 10:40

@CatsBooksAndRain I think it’s a personal decision that’s individual to you really, it depends on whether the outcome of those tests would influence the outcome of your pregnancy or not. If you had the screening and they came back showing as high risk, you’d have to ask yourself whether you would be prepared to go for more invasive testing to have this confirmed. If you wouldn’t be happy to have a CVS/amniocentesis, then it might help you decide whether to go for the tests in the first place. It’s a completely personal decision, some people say it wouldn’t matter either way for them, so they’d rather not test. Others would want to know so they can make informed decisions. There’s no right or wrong choice 😊
