Thought I’d start this as a follow up from the ‘TTC NOVEMBER 2021’ thread for everyone who got their BFPs! ☺️

@Clodagh21 Yeah same happened for me. Only really had queasiness until 7+6 and 8+0 when I felt dreadful and was physically sick. Since those two days I've woken up feeling nearly normal and haven't been feeling that sick at all. I know all is well in there because I've been listening to the heartbeat but if I didn't have that I'd be concerned since my tiredness has eased a bit and my boobs aren't quite as sore. Symptoms come and go so I wouldn't worry too much. Our bodies probably get used to the changes to some degree as well x

Clodagh21 · 09/01/2022 19:07

Thank use!:)

CountryGirl189 · 09/01/2022 20:43

Has anyone had a baby before?

I’m wondering how easy it is to get an epidural as I know 100% that this is what I want - I literally have no interest in being in pain for any length of time and worried that I’ll be denied an epi?

Cmacq32 · 09/01/2022 21:14

@CountryGirl189 absolutely you can request it as soon as you feel your not coping with the pain. I had my baby last November and although I didn't have an epidural I was reassured I could have pain management beforehand and given the oprions. X

1of2mummies · 09/01/2022 21:25

@caslo with IVF you usually have 1 extra scan at the clinic before I go to midwife care so we have ours on Tuesday I'll be 7+4 and then as standard.
Been given some cyclizine for HG now since I had been struggling to keep down even water and I'm feeling much more myself.

CountryGirl189 · 10/01/2022 02:45

@Cmacq32 thank you! I plan on requesting one as soon as I get there and pestering until it’s in!

Birth put me off even getting pregnant in the first place and I don’t relish the thought of writhing around in pain and just want to have a relaxed and enjoyable experience, however I read stories where a lot of people are denied epidurals 😔

Cmacq32 · 10/01/2022 05:44

@CountryGirl189 not sure of the circumstances of the ones you had heard but I've heard when requested too late or only 1 aneathatist working and they are in surgery!
Write it in your birth plan x

Morning all,

I’m nearly 11 weeks and since maybe 9+4 I’ve been feeling less sick and got more energy.

Has anyone else experienced less symptoms around this stage?

Even though we had a scan at 8 weeks and everything looked good with the baby and heartbeat, I’m freaking myself out that I’m having a MMC. My anxiety levels have really peaked.

1of2mummies · 10/01/2022 08:27

@firsttimetrier aww I'm sorry you're feeling so anxious, around 8 weeks the placenta begins to take over and some people feel a bit of relief in nausea once their HCG peaks, this is usually between 8 and 11 weeks. How bad was the nausea previously?

Cmacq32 · 10/01/2022 08:56

@Firsttimetrier I would contact your midwife and discuss with them. You could always book a private scan to reassure you.
I have experienced loss of symptoms before, one pregnancy was perfectly healthy and the symptoms went at 9 weeks and she is now 1. The other was a MMC and I discovered at 13 weeks (I had posted on mumsnet loss of symptoms and everyone told me not to worry which is the right thing to do however the best thing is to call your midwife and discuss).
I'm sure and hope all is well, our bodies play funny buggers with us during this anxious time.
If it helps I have zero symptoms this time and I'm almost 8 weeks 😬

CountryGirl189 · 10/01/2022 09:20

@Cmacq32 I’m definitely putting it in and also going to ask to speak to a consultant about the option of an elective CS. I realise there are risks involved and the recovery is potentially longer, but if it means that I can just enjoy my pregnancy and not be frantic with anxiety over it, then I’ll find post-birth-pain much easier to deal with 🙌🏻

I had a Hysteroscopy earlier this year and the way they dealt with my pain was horrendous, so don’t have much confidence in their pain fighting abilities during a natural birth!

CountryGirl189 · 10/01/2022 09:22

@Firsttimetrier I absolutely feel you!

We had a scan at 6 weeks and saw a heartbeat, but then a few days later, all my symptoms disappeared and I spent three weeks thinking I’d had a MMC, only to go at 9 weeks to see a little baby all tucked up nicely.

Since then, my symptoms have hit me like a freight train and I’m feeling rather sorry for myself!

But, when I was at EPU, they said that around 8 weeks, your placenta will start to take over so they would expect symptoms to lessen, but I would defo speak to your midwife x

Cmacq32 · 10/01/2022 09:26

@CountryGirl189 it's great to explore with the professionals all your options. They won't agree to anything untill later on I imagine.

I was terrified of childbirth and I found hypnobirthing super Impowering. I was able to get through 33 hours of active labour on gas and air, unfortunately afyer 4 hours of pushing turned out she was back to back and had failed forceps so they did an emergency CS in the end. This time they said I could elect for a CS but the recovery for me was not good and I was very unlucky with infections. So I'm going to take my time to decide what path I take.
I'd be up for either thiugh as both have pros and cons.
I'd have never gotten through it without hypnobirthing though and it can be applied during all labour's including Cs as it helps to keep you calm and focused. 👌😁

Clodagh21 · 10/01/2022 09:36

Ive woken up this morning with pain on my left side thats coming and going, its just below the bellybutton and over to the left a bit not sure what to do as I havent got a midwife yet to contact

Caslo · 10/01/2022 10:04

@Clodagh21 Could be a cyst. Since ovulation I've had a pain/ache in my middle right that comes and goes. Last week the pain was so strong it woke me up and it was ghastly, went on for 10 minutes or so. It's normally much more mild but still feel it most days. If it's nothing to do with your ovaries it could just be the uterus stretching and accommodating baby. If it's your first you may feel it more? x

closingtime101 · 10/01/2022 17:11

I find I am feeling very anxious now (10 weeks). We went for an early scan at 7 weeks as there was some discrepancy with my dates (I ovulated two weeks later than expected) and we saw the heartbeat - but I’m so worried that something has happened and I’m not aware of it. How are others managing their anxiety? I know I could go for another scan, but I’m worried that each scan will only reassure me for a couple of days, then I’ll be back to worrying again. I’m trying not to drive my husband and my sisters crazy with my worrying!!

Clodagh21 · 10/01/2022 18:41

Im the same with worrying! I got my letter about my 12 week scan and booking appointment but its not until Feb 4th and cant afford an early scan so I will just have to wait until then to see if everythings okay

Clodagh21 · 10/01/2022 18:42

@Caslo yeah could be it is my first pregnancy! Ive got IBS aswell so can sometimes cause some pain and discomfort

miltonj · 11/01/2022 18:38

So in the country I live in, you see the doctor before the midwife and I've finally got my dr appointment tomorrow. I'll be ten weeks (I think) hopefully find out for certain soon. I have no idea what to expect, everything is done so differently here! Bit nervous.

firsttimemumca · 11/01/2022 18:51

hi all,

just found this thread😊

currently 8 weeks today! just had our appointment through for nhs 12 week scan beginning of feb and had our midwife booking appointment on friday. (LMP predicted us to be a week ahead but private scan dates us 8 weeks).

Our first baby so a little anxious about what's to come but excited!

How's everyone coping? Any symptoms?

x

Clodagh21 · 12/01/2022 12:13

Going to go for a private scan today for piece of mind, cant stop worrying lol

Caslo · 12/01/2022 14:42

@Clodagh21 What time is the scan? Best of luck x

Clodagh21 · 12/01/2022 14:57
