Thought I’d start this as a follow up from the ‘TTC NOVEMBER 2021’ thread for everyone who got their BFPs! ☺️

@CountryGirl189 I say fill your boots! Anything that gets you through the 1st trimester. The preg vitamins we're taking makes up for our short comings!

@Cb31 think I was around your gestation when it stared, I'm 8+5 now and it's in full flow (hopefully). I understand the worry though as I had it much earlier on and much stronger with my daughter so I was a bit worried. Keep reminding myself that every pregnancy is different and I've heard of some women who are pretty much unaffected so you may well get away with it. I get that it's reassuring but it's also an absolute nightmare! Grin

Cb31 · 04/01/2022 19:02

Thanks everyone for your responses! Nice to know I'm not the only one. It's crazy how different everyone's pregnancies can be. I definitely had some nausea at this stage with my first one, but it wasn't particularly bad. I know they say you're more likely to have a girl if you have bad morning sickness but surely that's just an old wives tale.
I was feeling quite relaxed about everything but definitely getting more and more nervous about my scan on Sunday x

Clodagh21 · 04/01/2022 19:04

@Caslo it is my first pregnancy! I have had a scan which was this day last week and I was only measuring 5 weeks but going by my LMP i should have been 6w5d, although I was on birth control so they said it might just be that I have ovulated late!

henrysroadprimrose2021 · 05/01/2022 12:56

Same here with no/ few symptoms! Had bad tummy the first five weeks, now a little bit of nausea but mostly bad smells that trigger it. I have to force myself to eat. I find when I look at food I’m not hungry but when I start eating it picks up!
Also may be gross but cheesy whatsits have helped. I just suck on them and the salt really does help!

1of2mummies · 05/01/2022 17:06

Hi,
New to all this, I'm 6 +5 today with my first pregnancy via IVF. My partner had an unsuccessful transfer earlier in the year and we just decided to give it another go with me. Super nervous and very nauseous. Have been feeling the sickness since Xmas eve and have had quite a few days where its taken over. Early scan at 6 weeks showed a heartbeat which made everything feel super real.

Anybody else an IVF/IUI pregnancy?

CountryGirl189 · 06/01/2022 11:45

Just want to that we’ve just been for our early scan at the EPU and baby is all A-OK and measuring right on for 9 weeks which I am tomorrow!

Even had a little fidget whilst we were there so we saw him/her saying “hey guys, I just like to stress you out! But if you think this is stressful, just wait until I’m here!” 😂

So relieved! I asked the nurse about the lack of symptoms and she said that every person and every pregnancy really is just so wildly different!

But I have noticed the past few days that I feel really unwell if I don’t eat or if I leave too long between meals, so I just try to regularly snack!

Wishing everyone a happy and healthy 9 months xx

Amazing news! I’m waiting for two weeks till my next scan, and am really worried. So happy to read everything is okay with no symptoms too. Though I’m super tired today!
Cmacq32 · 06/01/2022 14:04

@henrysroadprimrose2021*@CountryGirl189 @SantiagoSister* I also have no symptoms either so far. Perhaps we are just super lucky 😘

Caslo · 06/01/2022 14:37

@CountryGirl189 Waheyyyy I'm chuffed for you congratulations! You must be SO relieved that everything is going well x

@henrysroadprimrose2021 I hear you about being tired. Could've thrown my phone out the window when it got me up for the school run this morning. Could happily nap from now until forever. It's hard work making a human x

@1of2mummies Welcome Smile I don't think anybody has said they're going through IVF/IUI treatment but that doesn't mean they're not! Congratulations on your news. You and your partner must be so thrilled. They say nausea is a good sign for the outcome of a pregnancy so although it feels bloody awful take some comfort from it! I find sipping cool, flat pepsi max helps and munching on two cream crackers in bed before I get up helps as well. Do you get extra scans having had fertility treatment? x

Firsttimetrier · 06/01/2022 15:36

Hi all, been a while since I’ve posted on here.

Now finally hit double digits and 10+1! I feel like I’ve been pregnant for 10 years though.

My nausea has finally subsided in the last week or so, so I feel like a normal person again. However, this has made me so anxious that something has gone wrong, even though we saw the baby and heartbeat at 8+1.

Sorry to hear some of you have got bad nausea and sickness. I found that my toothpaste to a kids toothpaste made me feel so much better as I think the strong mint taste used to make me sick or end in a dry heaving session.
Also I had to constantly eat, so I’d divide my meals in half and had 6 meals a day instead of 3.
Also worth snacking on rice cracks, Ritz biscuits, etc. Anything dry and beige will be your friend!

Yebbie · 07/01/2022 13:47

Can I join? Smile

I thought I was 7+2, but after being hospitalised with hyperemesis yesterday they did a scan this morning in the EPU and have now said I'm 6+3. It was so nice to see a strong heartbeat but disheartening to have my 12 week scan pushed back when I've been counting down the days haha.

Three drips later and some intravenous cyclizine I'm finally not throwing up anymore, but crippling nausea Sad

Caslo · 07/01/2022 15:00

In a super good mood this afternoon after spending days and days trying to find the heartbeat with our Doppler (I know they're frowned upon now but I bought it 5 years ago for my second pregnancy) my husband finally located it! I'm only 8+4 so whilst it's ridiculously early it was unmistakable at around 170 bpm Smile gonna be that reassurance I cling to on days with little to no symptoms.

Lovely to hear from you @Firsttimetrier x

@Yebbie Welcome! So sorry to hear about your HG. I can't imagine how it feels. I've only had 2 consecutive days where I've been sick and felt god damn dreadful and that was enough, so you have my full sympathies. Not to mention being a week behind where you thought you were. Did you have irregular periods before you got pregnant? x

Yebbie · 07/01/2022 15:12

@Caslo It isn't fun, but I had it in my last pregnancy and was expecting to be hit by it again, I was correct Sad Yes I have PCOS so I only have a couple of periods a year so there definitely is room for error, and the fact there was a strong heartbeat is reassuring but you can't help but wish these first 12 weeks away so it does feel quite disheartening to be another week behind again. I begged them not to reschedule my 12 week scan but they said they had to BlushGrin

Caslo · 07/01/2022 15:45

@Yebbie Perhaps you were on the cusp then, as I'm sure the dating scan is performed between the 11th and 13th week so unless you were scheduled on the early end you'd think they'd just keep to the original appointment. I'll bet PCOS is a nightmare for TTC, you must be thrilled to have caught (minus the HG obviously)! x

Yebbie · 07/01/2022 15:52

@Caslo I know, she insisted it's hospital policy they cannot book the dating scan until I'm at-least 12 weeks, which didn't match what I'd read online.. but nothing I can do really (apart from sulk!) Yes it took me two years to conceive my now toddler, we were referred for intervention and the day before I got my BFP! We stopped using protection when he was 18 months and I'm now pregnant and he's 31 months! So it took a while this time too.. I feel like I just won't be lucky enough to have 2 pregnancies with healthy babies so am almost waiting for something to be wrong. Hopefully it won't!

Clodagh21 · 07/01/2022 17:02

Going by LMP im 8w+1 today and sickness has started🤢 have no appetite and anytime I eat anything it just comes up !

CountryGirl189 · 07/01/2022 19:23

9 weeks exactly today and it’s all well and truly hit me! 🤢

Had the worst migraine - anyone else had them? Which made the sickness worse!

Feeling all you ladies who have been struck down with it!

Clodagh21 · 07/01/2022 19:52

@CountryGirl189 yeah ive been having loads of headaches aswell!!

Lealu · 08/01/2022 10:02

Hello,
I'd like to join too. We eventually got our long awaited bfp after a rollercoaster of ttc. Absolutely over the moon 🌙

Have been so sick right from week 5 though. Nearly 9 weeks now. Yesterday I vomited just at the thought of egg 🤢. My poor stomach is so nauseous. Really limited with what I can keep down. Brushing my teeth even makes me hurl. Trying to make myself have regular snacks, but eating is such a chore though. Am usually such a foodie, even the yummy Christmas foods couldn't tempt me. I read that hormones peek at 9wks so I am really hoping it settles down soon. I've lost weight, but gained a noticeable little bump!

Anyway, today I woke up and I've not been sick and it's freaking me out. I know I should be relieved (and I did then eat a proper breakfast, which was really nice). It just so happens that I have my private scan this afternoon, so that's helpful. But feeling really anxious 😬 Anyone else with morning sickness have days they suddenly felt ok? Last pregnancy I vomited at least once, usually multiple times, from week 8 to 12, then all fine once into second trimester. I know my dates are right because we were tracking bbt and LH tests. Thank you ladies, I've not yet told friends I'm pregnant so great to be able to share here! ❤️

TianaC · 08/01/2022 11:16

@Lealu congratulations!!! I got nausea at 6 weeks but by about 7 1/2 weeks it had pretty much gone. I’ll be 10 weeks tomorrow, and I’ve only had the odd evening since when I’ve felt nausea/off. I have had the food aversions bad though and can’t eat lots of things, that’s been constant and kind of got worse too. We had a scan at 8 weeks 1 day and saw our baby with their heartbeat, so everything is going perfectly. My nausea had pretty much gone for a little while before the scan, so I was happy that the scan reassured me that nausea being gone doesn’t mean anything is up, lots of people don’t get t it bad or some at all. My friend had no nausea at all and a healthy pregnancy and baby. My constant symptoms are pretty bad constipation, sore/bigger boobs and the food aversions. And of course tiredness.

Your scan will go perfectly! :) xxx

Lealu · 08/01/2022 20:57

@TianaC thank you I really appreciated your reassurance.
And I'm thrilled to say that all looked well at the 9 week scan, amazing to see baby's little heart beating away ❤️❤️❤️

TianaC · 09/01/2022 14:03

@Lealu I’m so happy for you!!!! Yay!!!!! xx

phoebetinkerbelle · 09/01/2022 16:01

Hi All,

I'm 7+6 and the nausea is so real. I'm on cyclizine and prochlorperazine as I had HG last pregnancy and kicked in around 5 1/2 weeks this time too. By far the worst pregnancy symptom that I've experienced but the midwives are always so delighted as it's "such a good sign" so I keep clinging to that. I had an early scan on Tues and saw the heartbeat so I'm so happy. Just wish that I could stomach more actual food. I'm craving sweet things and all things naughty at the moment and not much else! Hope everyone is having a lovely relaxing weekend. My son is starting nursery tomorrow and I'm so emotional. It's going to be so hard to hard him off to a bunch of strangers Sad

Clodagh21 · 09/01/2022 16:35

I had quite bad nausea and sickness on the 5th, 6th and 7th but I haven’t felt any nausea since. My boobs are still tender and im still really tired etc. Is this normal that the sickness started so suddenly and ended so suddenly?

TianaC · 09/01/2022 18:47

@Clodagh21 if you look at my reply above I reply to this concern :) x
