Thought I’d start this as a follow up from the ‘TTC NOVEMBER 2021’ thread for everyone who got their BFPs! ☺️

@Purple29

My partner can see both sides of both options. He thinks its my body and will support me either way. *@Caslo* dr said if it was ectopic they would take the tube only if the other one was healthy. It should effect fertility. The dr has said its really dependent on my personal circumstances. I've not had any pain so it might be they go in and its not ectopic so I keep the tubes and don't need the drug?! I think I'm leaning towards surgical. Then I can draw a line and move on.
Mistype.... it shouldn't effect fertility!!!
NiaOB · 31/12/2021 08:34

@Purple29 @TianaC So so sorry to hear your news lovely 😢 I had my ectopic end of April, it was the worse pain I’ve experienced (I’ve had 2 babies, 1 natural and 1 section) I had an emergency scan at EPU after being admitted to the ward and they found 2 litres of blood had leaked around my intestines and my bladder. I had my left tube removed, the recovery was quick but hubby and I decided that we were happy with the 2 kiddies we have. Jump forward to the week I was due and we had a surprise on the pregnancy test 😯 I’m almost 37 with only 1 tube, been using the withdrawl method and I’ve caught ❤️ there is Hope lovely xxx

Purple29 · 31/12/2021 12:59

Thank you everyone for your support. I have had surgery and it was an ectopic and there was some bleeding. They were amazed I wasn't having pain. Unfortunately I have lost the left tube. @Niaob thanks for sharing your story, I'm 39, so I' hoping we can go on to have another. Buy if not I have a beautiful healthy little boy.

I genuinely wish you all the happiest and healthiest of pregnancies. Youve all been so wonderful to a total stranger that i know you will all be wonderful mummies. X

TianaC · 31/12/2021 13:19

@Purple29 sending you so much love and positivity. You have the perfect outlook for the future. I know it can be hard to be positive after going through an ectopic, but believing everything will work out (if you do want another baby) is important. In our scan the other day when they said congratulations it just felt like such a shock to me, even though I’d been putting so much energy into being positive. And now it’s sinking in. But I’ll never forget the hard time. I tried to use it but I build strength and it did genuinely change me and not to get too deep but it changed my perspective and I started appreciating my own Mum more etc. You’re going to be fine. 2 of my friends had ectopics too and one has her rainbow baby now and the other is feeling really hopeful for the future, she has one child already. Sending so much love to you and your family xxx

Hi guys... the pregnancy nausea has officially kicked in! Thought I'd got away with it this time but nope. Have only actually been sick once (last pregnancy it was multiple times an hour so I'm counting my blessings but still)!
The idea of most food is knocking me sick, but having an empty stomach is making it worse. I literally can't think of anything i fancy.
Any one found anything g that helps? Or at least doesn't make it wrose??!! X

Valeria27 · 04/01/2022 13:21

@miltonj the same here!! So sick even when thinking of any food, have no idea what to eat that’s why I don’t eat much in the last 5 days or so. It’s my first pregnancy and I had no idea the sickness would hit so hard. I‘m 7 weeks+4 and my due date is 19th of August Smile

HA22 · 04/01/2022 13:25

@miltonj i found that gum really helped me. my nausea kicked in around 5/6 weeks where i was chewing gum constantly but it stopped at around 8 weeks thankfully.

Caslo · 04/01/2022 13:47

@miltonj I'm in the same boat, been fairly fine (just had loads of aversions) until Sunday morning when I suddenly felt awful and was sick until the afternoon. Same for yesterday too. I weirdly felt better after I'd been sick but it had a knock-on effect of dehydration which produces a never-ending headache! Interesting that gum helps you @HA22, I had some yesterday to try suppress the vom feelings and it only made it worse! I have a load of Pepsi max cans left over from Christmas which helped. After I'd been sick or was in the throws of nausea I'd drink it flat slowly and didn't feel like chucking it back up. When I'm not so close to vomiting I can drink it as it comes and it's a nice settler (for me anyway). Figured I'm no longer having coffee so a little caffeine won't kill me. This morning I wasn't as bad and managed to get to the gym but maybe that was down to the two cream crackers I had before I got out of bed x

CountryGirl189 · 04/01/2022 14:31

I feel the same! I think I’m around 8ish weeks and I feel like it’s really hit me today!

It feels like when you’re really hungry, but way more intense and I feel like if I don’t eat something right in that moment then I’ll throw up!

I have to keep eating little and often, like a snack every hour!

Caslo · 04/01/2022 14:44

@Clodagh21 @CountryGirl189 How are you both doing? x

CountryGirl189 · 04/01/2022 14:53

@Caslo - not too bad, I have another early scan on Thursday as I’ve had some light spotting again and had some HCG levels back and they want to check everything out!

How are you doing?

miltonj · 04/01/2022 14:59

Ah it's honestly awful isn't it. Sorry you're all suffering too! All the things I kind of fancy you can't really get in the country I'm in either. Think I could manage marmite on shit white sliced bread but doesn't exist here!

I asked my husband earlier for cheese and ham on toast snd he made me toast with some ham and cheese on it. Not even melted. I actually cried BlushGrin. Fizzy drinks are a good idea, I'll stock up.

CountryGirl189 · 04/01/2022 15:03

@miltonj this is the kind of thing my other half does!

All I can think about at the moment for tea is toast with white chocolate spread on… so healthy 🥴

Cb31 · 04/01/2022 16:15

Sorry to those feeling really sick, hope it passes soon!
@miltonj how many weeks were you when the sickness kicked in? I'm 7+4 and no sickness whatsoever. My only symptom is being absolutely shattered. Obviously it's nice not to feel sick but really worrying too (the joys of pregnancy 🤦🏼‍♀️). I've got a private scan on Sunday at least so will know one way or the other. Anyone else with barely any symptoms?
Xxx

Clodagh21 · 04/01/2022 16:42

@Caslo hey im good. I havent had any sickness but my boobs are still sore but I havent been having any pain or bleeding. Still POAS and they are very strong positives and dye stealers so im hoping thats a good sign?

SantiagoSister · 04/01/2022 16:52

@Cb31 I’m right here with you with the zero symptoms. I’m 8+6 today, and I don’t have a single symptom still. No sickness/nausea, no sore boobs, no aversions, literally wouldn’t know I was pregnant unless I had tested all those weeks ago. It really worries me, as I see so many people have so many symptoms by this stage. I’m glad to hear someone else is in a similar boat too! Wishing you lots of luck for Sunday, my 12 week scan is on the 26th so a while to wait for me unfortunately.

CountryGirl189 · 04/01/2022 17:06

@Cb31 - mine has only just started, and going off LMP, I’m 8+3 today and to be honest, it’s not even that bad.

I had a bit of sickness at 6 weeks, then it disappeared and my boobs have gone back down to their normal size, although still ever so slightly tender! I was also exhausted up until about 5 and a half weeks, but I feel fine now unless I have a bad nights sleep.

I ended up having some very light spotting and so got my HCG levels tested:

6 weeks: 20,100
8 weeks: 94,400

This seems quite a slow rise to me and my lack of symptoms has worried me, so I’m having another scan on Thursday at EPU - nervous doesn’t even cut it!

But hoping that all is well!

Hope you get some more solid symptoms soon!

Caslo · 04/01/2022 17:15

@CountryGirl189 Best of luck for Thursday for your next scan, when was your first one? Spotting is super common and your strong symptoms are great signs! Apart from the nausea I'm alright thanks. Had an early scan last Friday at 7+4 and was so relieved to see a heartbeat and baby measuring bang on for my ovulation day. Takes the worry of another miscarriage away a little bit x

@Cb31 Symptoms-wise I just had sore boobs and tiredness. Sunday morning arrived (7+6) and I suddenly was feeling dreadful, physically sick and nauseas until the afternoon. Looking online at nausea levels on charts there seems to be a big HCG rise from 7 weeks with nausea peaking at 9 weeks so if you can get through this week feeling human good on you! My first two pregnancies I didn't have any sickness whatsoever so this has taken me by surprise. My last baby was over 5 years ago so maybe I'm just older and my body can't cope like it used to! I agree though it's totally reassuring. I've got 4 weeks until my 12 week scan so need constant reminders I'm still pregnant! x

Caslo · 04/01/2022 17:19

@Clodagh21 Sounds like a great sign! The last first response I used was at 30dpo and I finally got my dye stealer so decided I'd stop being obsessed Grin (I pee'd on a LOT of internet cheapies...) have you had any early scans at all or are you just going to wait for the 12 week one? If you've not had any sickness you're maybe one of the lucky ones (unless it rears it's head in a week or two!) is this your first baby? x

CountryGirl189 · 04/01/2022 17:19

@Caslo oh that’s amazing!

My first was at 6 weeks and we saw a tiny bean with a heartbeat, but since my symptoms kind of dwindled after it, I’ve worried about MMC and all sorts - I know we definitely drive ourselves mad with worry so I know exactly how you feel!

Caslo · 04/01/2022 17:27

@CountryGirl189 I understand your concern re the HCG levels (going by the weekly averages online) but the range of 'normal' is bloody huge! Your numbers seem good to me, have you been advised otherwise? I've read a lot of people can have a slow-rise and end up having wonderful, healthy pregnancies so I've got everything crossed for you. Having seen a heartbeat your risk of MC goes down a lot (to 10% I think?) so you're 90% likely to carry this baby to term. They're rather good odds Smile x

CountryGirl189 · 04/01/2022 17:40

@Caslo - eeek, fingers crossed!

I think in my own head I just thought it would have risen a lot quicker in the two weeks, but I do read that once it hits 6000, it can take over 4 days to double!

Do you have another scan booked or are you waiting until 12 weeks now? Have you had your booking appointment? x
