Thought I’d start this as a follow up from the ‘TTC NOVEMBER 2021’ thread for everyone who got their BFPs! ☺️

Well they couldn't see anything on scan. Either ultrasound or internal. But she said she couldn't get a good full view of my uterus cause its tilted back. Test line was faint positive. So they've taken bloods to test my levels but I'm not hopeful at all!!!

Caslo · 23/12/2021 09:58

@Purple29 Oh lovely you must be so worried hugs as they couldn't see anything in your uterus did they check your tubes too? Though I assume you'd be having pain if it was implanted elsewhere. I guess you'll have your answer when they call back with the HCG level so in the meantime think positive and we're all here for you x

They couldn't get a proper view of my uterus. She said would speak to the consultant depending on my levels. She's not too concerned as I'm not having any pain but might need to go back on Xmas day for more bloods. I am pretty sure it's been an early mc.

@chiatta My nausea can get bad :( I have found that old adage of eating little and often and not letting yourself get too hungry or too full helps. I have rich tea biscuits to eat when I feel sick but hungry at the same time (do you get that?). But I am struggling so much with bloating!!

TianaC · 23/12/2021 11:07

@chiatta @Caslo After watch Zoe Sugg's first trimester vlog, she really recommended Jolly Rancher candy, it's a bit sour. I gave it a go (ordered some on amazon as it's American) and it works for me. I read someone saying your brain can't really process nausea and sour tastes, so it takes it away. I'll tend to have a few of those (each one lasts about 15 minutes when sucking it), and then after a bit some toast etc.

For dinner I've been having pot boodle brand chicken instant noodles with veg (a pack of noodles not a pot), no msg in them, as the thought of other hot foods isn't good for me.

Fizzy lime/lemon zero is helping too.

But the Jolly Ranchers seem the best to me! I think I'm 8 weeks 3 days today, I forgot I ovulated on day 12 or 13 when normally it's day 14 (28 day cycle) so I think I'm a couple of days ahead than my LMP says maybe.

Feeling really positive about it all, had an ectopic previously, but this feels different/good.

TMI but don't worry if any of you get diarrhoea... I got a bit with pretty intense constipation either side of it, and it freaked me out a bit. Called the EPU for a chat and she said don't worry at all, it's something called overflow diarrhoea (I know disgusting), but it means you're just actually v constipated and that's an effect of it. Just wanted to reassure people.

Sending lots of positivity to everyone!

My hcg levels are 84, so considering I would be about 6+3 they are really low. So looks like I have either miscarried or I will do 😭😭💔

Hope you all have happy and healthy pregnancies. 😊

Firsttimetrier · 23/12/2021 14:59

@twinklesss we normally have the NHS one at 12 weeks but this one was a private scan with Window to the Womb. As this is my first pregnancy, I’ve been so anxious and googling things which have not helped!

@chiatta I get bad nausea some days and have found eating little and often really helps! Also been keeping some Pringles and gingernut biscuits nearby I can snack on a few here and there.

Chewing gum was also a life saver but the taste of mint now makes me physically gag, which makes brushing my teeth extremely interesting!

Sparkling water and herbal teas also help as weirdly, I can’t drink normal water as the taste makes me sick as well.

It’s a real whirlwind and it changes each week but hoping it will ease soon as I’m now 8 weeks 🤞🏽 Hopefully only 4 more weeks of what feels like a never ending hangover!

Firsttimetrier · 23/12/2021 15:00

Oh @Purple29 I didn’t see you message before I posted.

I’m so sorry to hear! I don’t know much about HCG levels but I think the number doesn’t matter as long as it doubles every few days? Can you get another test done to see if it’s increasing?

Keeping my fingers crossed for good news 🤞🏽❤️

Purple29 · 23/12/2021 15:27

@Firsttimetrier they are getting me back on the 30th. I'm going away to see family. Over the holidays so I won't be back near where I live till then. I'm really not hopeful. So just gonna see it as it wasn't meant to be this time and back to ttc again x

Cb31 · 23/12/2021 21:24

@Clodagh21 aww I know it's so nerve wracking. It's not much different second time round either! At least if you do have some bleeding you'll know that its probably the hematoma. But fingers crossed it just goes away on its own. Are you booked in for another scan?

@Purple29 Really sorry to hear what you're going through, must be horrible having the uncertainty. Hope you're ok and that you have a nice Christmas xxx

Clodagh21 · 23/12/2021 22:00

@Cb31 nope ill not have another scan now until my 12 week scan! Might book in for an early scan in January for peace of mind though

chiatta · 24/12/2021 06:47

@Purple29 I'm so sorry to hear. Wishing you baby dust for when you try again.

@TianaC thanks, I've ordered some Jolly Ranchers.

@Firsttimetrier same, I am not enjoying tooth brushing. What turns my stomach the most is coffee and I LOVE coffee. The idea disgusts me now.

miltonj · 24/12/2021 13:38

How's everyone getting on? My nausea has semi kicked in, but no where near as bad as with my first!

How strict is everyone being with Christmas foods? I had some Brie and salami last night and we're having rare roast beef for tea, contemplating if I should just stick to the edges or not! Lots of boozy chocolates about too, I wonder how many is ok 🥳😂

NiaOB · 24/12/2021 14:15

Hi 😊
Had an ectopic planned pregnancy, which ended in tube removal end of April. Hubby and I decided that we have a healthy DS and DD so stopped trying. Fast forward to last week and had super sore boobs, took a test and I was so so shocked! Now it’s settled in, I’m feeling excited but anxious as my ectopic was missed and ruptured, at least this time I know the signs to look out for 😊

CountryGirl189 · 24/12/2021 14:47

@miltonj - we went to our first stage appointment the other day and not to cause worry, but they said to really avoid Brie and the likes as well as cured meats as there is a chance of listeria 😬

I’m personally not taking any chances, although feeling really sad today because even though we say a heartbeat at 6 weeks, my symptoms have been lessening as the week has gone on and today I have zero symptoms - we were going to tell family tomorrow for Christmas, but now I don’t want to because I feel that something has gone wrong!

Ah I know, but the risk of listeria is minuscule... I always think of it like how many times do I eat Brie/pepperoni etc whilst not pregnant and I've never got listeria! The chance doesn't rise in pregnancy, but obviously the NHS have to be super strict with what they say,

Ah I know that worry, I keep comparing this pregnancy to my last and thinking 'why don't I feel as sick' etc. But realistically symptoms arnt a signal of how well the pregnancy is progressing. The pregnancy I lost was the one with the strongest symptoms and my successful one I didn't have sore boobs at all. Our bodies are so weird! And hcg remains in the body even after a mmc so losing symptoms is definitely not a sign of anything! So hard not to worry though. I'd still tell your family if that's what you want to do! Xx

CountryGirl189 · 24/12/2021 17:05

@miltonj - this is actually so true and I don’t know why I’ve just thought this! I swear all logic has been taken from me 😂

I honestly feel so confused! Felt really off and under the weather last week, then this week, nearly nothing!

twinklesss · 24/12/2021 19:11

Congratulations @NiaOB !
Sorry about your ectopic pregnancy. Please could you share the symptoms you had please? I've got myself feeling paranoid about it. All my pregnancy so far I've been having mild cramps mainly on one side, I had this in my previous pregnancy and everything was fine but I can't help but worry. I didn't feel sick last time and I've had such nausea this time and feel so tired, I also went to the toilet tonight and when I wiped there was a very faint line of light blood, which I never had with my first either. Also where I live we don't have a number like 111 to phone but I don't feel like I need to go to a&e. Sorry for the long post!

Caslo · 24/12/2021 19:46

@mrsmw132 Didn't you have a scan recently? How did you get on?

Caslo · 24/12/2021 19:50

@Purple29 I'm so so sorry to hear of your news. I was so hopeful for you. I hope you manage to have a lovely Christmas and have every TTC success as and when you're ready. Take care x

mrsmw132 · 24/12/2021 19:54

Hi @Caslo- unfortunately our scan didn’t go well. They think it is a missed miscarriage and we are to go back this week for confirmation. We are totally devastated. Wishing all of you lovely ladies a merry Christmas and positive healthy pregnancies xx

Firsttimetrier · 24/12/2021 20:43

Oh @mrsmw132 I’m so sorry to hear. I really hope it turns out to be positive news. ❤️

Cmacq32 · 24/12/2021 20:53

@mrsmw132 I'm so sorry. I've experienced a MMC at 13 weeks and it's just so unexpected when you have no idea anything is wrong. Thinking of you. Xx

NiaOB · 24/12/2021 21:11

Hi lovely, the pain started on a Tuesday at 5 + 6, it was about half an hour of severe pain. I couldn’t actually move! Then it disappeared until the Friday evening, that lasted about 3 hours. EPU didn’t want to know and OOH told me basically nothing they could do. I couldn’t walk on the sat, felt like I had to carry my stomach around, pain was uncomfortable but not uncontrollable. I was in A&E for 7 hours and they sent me home with a scan date for the Monday, my HGC was actually high so they didn’t think ectopic?!? By the Sunday evening I was in so much pain I thought I was dying. A&E admitted me, scanned me and realised I had a major internal bleed 😢 Was in theatre within an hour having my left tube and all the blood removed. In hindsight, I should’ve gone on the Tuesday. Always get checked xx
