hello!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
HoHoHousemum · 13/12/2007 19:21

Congratulations Clara and Bimblins!

Busy day but just posting something so I don't lose the thread (already losing the plot some would say...)

Lizzer · 13/12/2007 19:41

Aww hohohousemum, take it easy and don't lose the plot too much (I'm feeling similar but keep coming on here every time I get chance to avoid doing 'real' everyday stuff - like wrapping presents, bah humbug!)

Ah Ambi, nice that you have a date for induction, lets hope something starts soon though..

Skidaddle, I can barely type to you I'm so Haha, only joking, I really hope this is it for you. God I can't imagine having sex but maybe, if thats what it takes... (not sure dp's take on this though I'm guessing a no and if he can't 'you-know-what' then there's no point is there?) keep bouncing girl (on the ball obviously!)

Lizzer · 13/12/2007 19:44

Loucee, that's good news for you too, glad you've got someone with a bit of common sense to reassure you...

Bouncingturtle · 13/12/2007 19:47

OOh looks like a few of you are about to go off! Fingers crossed for you all!
Went to the Water birth class, bath is huge! Really, really hope I get to use it!

insywinsyspider · 13/12/2007 20:26

bouncing - any water birth tips? we've just inflated and deflated birth pool in box as a practise, mw has been a bit chilled about the whole thing, I'm sure there is more I should know than 'go with the flow'

beckle - you are not alone in the worrying, I'm still doing my movement charts and its driving me crackers, just need baby here now!

congrats claraq!

skid - OMG! v too! keep us posted

anyone else out there on number 2/3 who never had a show or waters breaking and kind of hoping it happens this time?

Awenamanger · 13/12/2007 21:27

Skidaddle - HOw exciting Hope this is it. x

Minspugs - xx

skidaddle · 13/12/2007 21:35

Hi all, getting regular but not v. sore contractions now - anyone know the web address of that contraction counter thing?

HoHoHousemum · 13/12/2007 21:35

Insywinsy - I'm on number 3, waters went last time so I knew that I was about to have a baby (although it took 2.5 days as the contractions didn't really get going untill the following night). Like you, I'd like a show or soething so at least I know things are moving in the right direction. (Number 1 was emergency section so last time was the first actual labour I had)

Fingers crossed it's time for you Skidaddle!

Bouncingturtle · 13/12/2007 21:53

Skidaddle - Good luck!Contraction Timer

Insy - It seemed very relaxing, the water birth.
Main thing they said was just to keep relaxed, and that you can get out if you want.
The said during the 1st stage of labour that the temp doesn't matter, but during second stage of labour it has to be close to body temp, 37 deg.

skidaddle · 13/12/2007 22:05

thanks bouncing - have sent DH off to bed as he is annoying me!

lol lizzer at not being able to have sex - I felt exactly the samr and it was the most unromantic sex I've ever had but seems to have done the trick so well worth it!

ambi - did he give you a sweep or just have a feel? Have you had any twinges since?

thingamajig · 13/12/2007 23:45

My DH wont do sex at all, says he doesnt want to bump the baby's head
Never ming, I have another weeks till my edd so not too desparater yet. Today was what I worked out to be d-day by dates, 21 st is by scan so with a bit of luck it'll be sometime soon.
Well done to Clara and Bimblin and anyone else who has had their baby since I last posted.
Anyone heard from Mememummy or Caz10 who havnt posted since the 5th and 8th of Dec respectively, when things were happening for both? Hope that they're both cuddled up with gorgeous babies. And Fifisworld too?
Neuro does seem to have vanished, she hasnt posted since last month, she is usually so chatty, I hope she is OK.
Also mad4girls and firstyme havnt posted for a while and theyre due dates have passed..
(takes detective hat off)
Hope people are sleeping better than me, I keep getting sciatica down one leg making me yelp, so interested in what someone was saying about labour pains in their thighs (manic symptom spotting alert).

Lizzer · 13/12/2007 23:59

Hey thingymajig, good cluedo skills!! Where are they all indeed??????

Ohhh Skidaddle I hope that you are on your way, so very exciting!!!!!!!

becklesparkle · 14/12/2007 00:02

Clara! Yay! Another baby for the list, Congrats!

Bouncing, Cece's post did the same to me too.

Skid, things looking promising for you! Good luck! Am very

Insy, I'm glad I don't have to do a movement chart, it would send me bonkers. Baby been very quiet today, don't like it when it has quiet days. Mind you, it usually goes a few hours between movements and then is busy for 1/2 hour or so, is that normal do you think?

becklesparkle · 14/12/2007 00:03

I did a search for Mad4Girls the other day and she has not posted since the end of August! I do worry when we don't hear from someone for a while.

buzzybee · 14/12/2007 05:03

Insy, I never had show last time and waters were broken for me when I was 10cm dilated! Agree it would be nice to have some real "sign" though rather than just steadily increasing discomfort levels!

Finished at the office today hooray!!! Also made it through our team Xmas lunch which was nice. Now nothing to hold out for so come on LO!

Bouncingturtle · 14/12/2007 06:24

Morning girls... Afternoon Buzzy!

Yey Buzzybee - though surely you want a couple of days to relax and put your feet up before baba arrives!
Hey Skid - how's it going!

One thing about the hospital visit, the Midwife doing the talk was saying they didn;t have a problem with us using mobile phones in the delivery room. DH has a fancy phone with t'interweb on, so he'll switch the phone function off (don't want to receive calls or text as too disruptive!), but DH will be able to do a labour thread on here

skidaddle · 14/12/2007 06:48

bouncing - love the idea of a labour thread from the delivery room - although will it not be annoying for you if your DH keeps leaving your side to update us?!

Still here, tried to sleep but contractions kept waking me up - now I'm up they seem to have tailed off

DH and DD still snoring upstairs..

thingamajig - I was wondering about all the disappearees as well, esp neuro and mad4girls. I'm sure they're fine, just have other things to do apart from come on mn (unlike us )

Bouncingturtle · 14/12/2007 06:56

No that's the point of this phone - it has web and walk so he won't have to! He can post live updates from the delivery room - how cool is that.

I agree about our missing persons, they probably have a life outside MN unlike us
Still I hope they are ok! I seem to remember Neuro was on verge of packing in work when we last heard from her, she may have probs with her internet?

buzzybee · 14/12/2007 07:46

Evening ladies!! Yes it would be nice to have at least a couple of days to get my hair cut, eyelash tint etc. Haven't booked anything mind you so may be out of luck at this time of year!
Think Neuro's probably gone down to stay with her mum now so may not have internet access? Had a feeling Mad4girls had changed her name as expecting a boy but could be wrong?!
Have nothing planned for this weekend - didn't think I could plan anything really but now wondering what we'll do. My Mum's taking DD to Carols by Candlelight at the cricket ground tomorrow night and then she's sleeping over so will be even quieter tomorrow. I could go to but don't really fancy sitting on hard ground on a rug for a couple of hours, although the kids will have a ball.
TG, has cooled off a bit now - finally had a decent night's sleep last night

buzzybee · 14/12/2007 07:53

I see on the Due in Nov thread that LOM finally had her baby by emergency c/s 12 Dec. Birth notice posted by a friend so don't thik she's been on line yet.

SAmbiClaus · 14/12/2007 08:14

on the TMI front, I've had more sex these last few weeks than the last 8 months Think DP is making the most of it whilst he can and condomfree sex, and is trying to naturally induce me so he can finish work...

SAmbiClaus · 14/12/2007 08:16

I'm glad for LOM, bless her, she was very fed up of being a Nov girl without her LO. Wishing her a fast recovery.

Off to bed again after a terrible nights sleep. Roll on sunday...

SAmbiClaus · 14/12/2007 08:18

Oh and all the best Skid, hoping you're having/had your baby now,
