hello!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
dundeemarmalade · 13/12/2007 12:53

bambino still giggling at what your dd said!

pls excuse me if i'm being really dim, but did neuro retire/change name/disappear?

re. middle names, dh and i still 'discussing' the matter - I favour middle names, he thinks is waste of time, esp. as niblet will have to carry around two surnames. i think it's a nice way to keep names in the family without landing current generation with something like 'walter' or 'bernard'.

still getting lots of BH, and had galloping runs last night. trying to ignore the bit of my brain that's saying 'it's a sign, it's a sign' cos that way madness lies. but i'm sooooo hoping it is!

dundeemarmalade · 13/12/2007 12:54

lizzer - me too! nips are sort of sticky feeling, v. similar to PMS (tho can barely remember what that was like!)

Lizzer · 13/12/2007 13:12

Dundee, ah yes, exactly like pms....I too am hoping i am not being led down the dangerous path of exagerating everything out of all proportion, but hey ho tis a jolly ride

tabimum · 13/12/2007 13:27

Congrats to all who have had babies since I last logged on.....very even though I have 2 weeks to go....would just love LO to arrive prior to Xmas (but not on Xmas Eve or Day, or Boxing Day clearly!!)..cant remember who posted it, but would dearly love wine, brie and pate too on Xmas day!!!!

Am nearing end of bottle of rasp leaf tablets, and wondering about getting a fresh supply in....but fed up that it wasnt the miracle cure I thought it would be (ie - that LO hasnt arrived with a single bottle!!)....

insywinsyspider · 13/12/2007 13:31

re names: might have to go for 2 names as can't decide but ds only has one hopefully he won't get jealous in later life I know what me and my brother are still like at our age!

lizzer - not sure if its a sign but I've had the same, mines been the same tingling as let down when you're bfeeding and I've been leaking more past few days... trying not to think too hard about it as agree the dundee I'm starting to think everythings a sign!

re sex: dh is well up for it and really chuffed he can suggest it as a 'natural induction' method altho he did conceed last night that it should prob be fun for me too to release the right hormones, I just find it really uncomfy lugging my bump around

insywinsyspider · 13/12/2007 13:32

hello tabimum - it was me with the brie, pate and wine although tempted just to do it if I get that far - might encourage dc to get a move on!

becklesparkle · 13/12/2007 14:21

2 more babies for the list - yay! (and ) Congrats Bimblin and Shells! That was a quick labour Shells!

Fifi, hope you are snuggled up with your LO by now, looking forward to hearing from you!

Insy and Wizz, glad someone elses babies move and turn a lot too, was starting to get worried that perhaps I had too much fluid or something! Especially as when I checked my notes from yesterday, the MW had plotted my measurements on the graph thing and I am right on the top border of the grey area for size! Want my baby here now before it gets too much bigger, am starting to have visions of head being to big to fit in pelvis (DS1 got a bit stuck)... MW didn't even mention to me that I was on the overlarge size - how rubbish is that?!

Melly, you have my full sympathies on insensitive MWs, they cannot force you to be induced and to even suggest you would do anything to endanger your LO is ridiculous! On the plus side, next Weds is a long way off and lots can happen in that time so hopefully LO will make its own way out before then!

Pecka, sounds like a show to me! I think that where you feel the pain can be related to how baby is positioned so could be things limbering up. With DS1 I got most of my labour pains (and strangely most of my stretch marks too) in my thighs! With DS2 it was all in the stomach.

Ambi, that sounds like a lovely reason to choose a middle name. I'm sure your DD will be proud when she is older to have it and although its an old fashioned name it is not a daft one.

Insy, following on from what you were saying earlier about star signs, Taureans get on best with water signs! DS2 was born on the cusp of Capricorn and Aquarius (just making Aquarius by a few hours), he was obviously meant to be Aquarius though as he is a very very 'typical' one!

Bambino, LOL at your DD! (can I borrow that hoover when you are done with it...)

Dundee, could well be a sign! I think we look out for as many signs now as we did during the 2ww while we were TTC! I had bad tum the other night and lots of BHs, got my hopes up, then saw MW yesterday and feel all depressed again that baby is not even engaging yet!

Awen, hi there! Sounds like your LO is putting you through it a bit, hopefully he'll be here nice and safetly soon!

becklesparkle · 13/12/2007 14:22

Insy, DH wants to give this LO a middle name if it is a girl but the DSs don't have them so I worry they would get jealous or wonder why they don't have 2 names.

becklesparkle · 13/12/2007 14:29

Is anyone else finding themselves really tearful? I keep wanting to cry! Keep having lots of irrational panics about something going wrong for me or baby too. Started worrying now about spinning baby getting tangled in cord, I wish LO was here now!

Bouncingturtle · 13/12/2007 14:38

Oh God yes, I woke up early yesterday morning, as my hips were aching, so decided to sit up in bed and read. My friend lent me "My Best friend's girl", only read the prologue and burst into tears!
If I read anything even remotely sad then I start to well up.. just read a message from Cece on the MC thread and started feeling really teary. Don't want to go into details here, but I'm sure you have read it or will be doing so .

WizzskaRedbreast · 13/12/2007 14:53

Yes, I'm crying all the time and have a really nice break out of spots. Hopeing its just a phase and not post natal depression. Keep telling myself its early days and things will change.

claraquitemassivenow · 13/12/2007 14:59

Hi all
Don't have time to read all the messages, but congrats to anyone else who has popped!
Martha Erin was born (by planned section) on Tuesday, weight 8lb half oz. All went really well - I saw them lifting her out as they lowered the screen, it was absolutely amazing! I was supposed to see the sex for myself but the anethesist said "it's a girl" at exactly the moment I was working out that the cord wasn't actually a willy!!!
Anyway everything is going well, including feeding and sleeping but only just back from the hospital today so early days yet....

TripLetItSnowAndTwins · 13/12/2007 15:06

Hello all! I popped in on the last thread and then disappeared!

Just wanted to say, huge congratulations to people who have popped!

I can't wait! I'm sooooo fed up of being pregnant and uncomfortable now! I want to meet these babes

Hope you're all well and coping!

BunnyBaby · 13/12/2007 15:38

Congrats Clara, she sounds lovely! Well done

Lizzer · 13/12/2007 16:14

Woo-hoo, congratulations claraq! And welcome Martha (fab name!) Sounds like you're recovering well too, excellent news

Amani · 13/12/2007 16:19

Congratulations to Clara and Bimblin. Hope you are both doing ok....

Bouncingturtle · 13/12/2007 16:41

Congrats Clara!! Enjoy your lo!

loucee · 13/12/2007 16:48

Hi everyone

Congratulations Clara and Bimblin and Shells, really happy that you're all with your newborns now, hope it's not too long for the rest of us!

I had a MW and consultant apt today, consultant reassured me that no two births are the same and no reason for elective c-section (bizarre MW was saying it was best for me!) so that was good news. MW gave me an internal and cervix is soft but far back and thick so no imminent arrival for me (I'm ok though, I'm only 39 + 3 today).

Fab news is that a blind I ordered for the dining room arrived this morning only 4 working days after I ordered it (it's made to measure) so if anyone needs anything like that I highly recommend blindsnet.co.uk (cheap as well!)

Wizz, I think you've got the baby blues - should definitely pass in a couple of days. Try and rest and chill out as much as you can. If you're finding it a bit daunting at the moment let me reassure you it DOES get better and you're still in recovery from delivering a baby. Your hormones are all over the place and you're probably very tired and sore - things definitely get a million times better I promise.

Bouncingturtle · 13/12/2007 17:01

Been to MW btw, BP normal, but protein in wee again!
Got to drop yet another sample off tomorrow morning and also they'll take some blood to test haemoglobin, as I mentioned the extreme tiredness.
Apart from that everything ok!

FurryFox · 13/12/2007 17:07

Congratulations Clara & Bimblin. So nice to see the arrivals list getting longer

Hi Trip Does your name mean you have triplets as well as expecting twins by any chance? Do you kno wwhen you will be havng your twins? I think I must have missed you before on the other thread.

Hope everyone else is ok Not much time to catch up at the moment but wanted to say hi

suey2 · 13/12/2007 17:34

congrats clara! martha is a great name.

I am struggling physically today. Went out shopping with my mum and after about 30 mins my back really started to ache. Th baby feels so much lower, but having had no experience of this before i just don't know how much closer i am to the end! It does feel like a constant heaviness in my groins and the baby seem to like grinding his head deeper in on a regular basis!

skidaddle · 13/12/2007 18:14

hi all and huge congrats to clara, bimblin and shells - fantastic news!!!!

Had a massive show this morning and crampy pains and tightenings all day - could be due to the two (!) bouts of sex we had last night!! Am off to bounce on my ball and hope things progress

sorry haven;t been able to read messages properly...

FurryFox · 13/12/2007 18:32

Oh my goodness Skid that's sooooooooooooooooo exciting, hope things are starting for you . I'm not at all of you at all, honest . Keep us posted and good luck sweetie. By the way did your show have any blood/pink in it this time? Sorry for TMI!

loucee · 13/12/2007 18:32

Suey, how much engaged was the baby at your last MW apt? Def sounds like the baby is moving lower and lower which is giving you the backache and strain.

My MW today prescribed sex sex and more sex! then I spoke to my friend who is a MW and she told me the same so Skidaddle you're definitely doing the right thing! Good luck, it sounds promising with the crampy tighenings and the show.

SAmbiClaus · 13/12/2007 18:47

Congratulations Bimblin, hope you're healing well. (If we were having a boy we'd name him Alex, so great name choice)

OMG Claraq, hope you are recovering well with your LO. Nice weight too. CONGRATS!!

Thanks Beckle, thinking about it today and MIL will be very proud and probably a bit modest about it. Plus every little girl wants to be Barbie..

Just got back from the consultant, he was pretty nice actually but you could tell he was at the end of a long day. I wonder about these Gyno's do you think that they must be sick of vaginas at the end of the week, and whether their sex lives are really clinical. Anyway I digress, cervix has softenend, he was quite rough and am in a little achy pain now so it's possible something may start quite soon, if not, I'm booked in for induction 8am on Sunday. They don't usually induce on weekend but they're pretty busy next week apparently, better for us, the hospital is quiet on a sunday and the journey will be sooooo much easier.
