Still having fun contractions, they petered out about 9am, but are now back every 10 mins, think I will call the hospital at 5 mins. Oh will be fun getting to Warrington Hospital on a Saturday before Xmas! There's only one route in/out, Definitely staying here as long as I can, the sun is out too, which is really nice for a change.

Cazzybabs, congrats on Evelyn, her picture is making me melt, sorry you didn't get your homebirth but glad everything went well for you in the end.

loucee · 15/12/2007 13:38

Thanks Bambino, I'm feeling a lot better now, just glad the vomiting has stopped.

Bunny - wow, 40 + 12 and + 17!!! You've got the patience of a Saint! Glad everything is going well.

Suey - agree with Ozzymoomoo, all these aches and pains are probably the start of things and are getting your cervix into position. When's your next MW appointment?

loucee · 15/12/2007 13:40

Ambi - how long is the drive to the hospital? I would call them at 5 mins apart but worried you have a really long drive there.

becklesparkle · 15/12/2007 13:42

Congrats Cazzybabs and DH! Evelyn is beautiful! Sorry you didn't get your homebirth but so glad you and LO are well!

Soooo of all of you in labour! I feel like I am never going to have this baby! It's still sat quite high I think, with less than 2 weeks to go I thought it might have dropped a bit by now! Felt like it was pushing down for a while this morning but not any more - hope it's head isn't too big for my pelvis!

Loucee, I think they are quieter towards the end, mine certainly is although it is a worry sometimes. I second the pain turning over in bed too - ouch! My pelvis is really aching!

becklesparkle · 15/12/2007 13:45

I am going to try and get all the Christmas stuff sorted this weekend, cards, pressies and parcels to be sent. Maybe if baby knows everything is ready it will feel like coming??? [wistful thinking face]

SAmbiClaus · 15/12/2007 13:54

Loucee - I think it'll be about 40 mins drive until about 6pm, after that about 15/20 mins.

suey2 · 15/12/2007 15:14

thanks ozzy and loucee!
and congrats fifi- i know i totally burst into tears when i was admitted, just the enormity of a possible induction got me going. Totally took me by surprise.

pain has now stopped after a nice clary sage bath, so i think a siesta is in order.

really pissed off today, but am sure i will feel better tomorrow. Have my brothers and their families coming round for lunch to inspect the baby

Hiya ladies,

Have maanaged to catch up with this thread, but not the previous one.

No news from Ambi or Skid I see.

I have been having some strange bearing down pains today and lower back pain, not due till NYE so suspect it is nothing... have had moments everyday this week where I have thought this is it, but alas no LO.

Suey, things sound like they are slowly kicking off for you. I just feel so exhausted now. Have not done any Xmas shopping at all, no tree up or anything.
Congrats to everyone and their little ones... just had a little look a Evelyn,.... gorgeous, cant wait.

Poppy10 · 15/12/2007 16:19

Hello all,

I'm still here, but haven't posted for ages, last time I think was back in Nov when I mentioned my boss had brought up (on the phone!) the time I'd spent surfing the internet including "Mummys Net" as IT had aleretd him to it... I was raging as various times during the day I'd gone on for 10 minutes was more than made up for by the 3 hours a day of unpaid overtime I was doing for months trying to finish up the bid I was writing before mat leave. So IT subsequently made Mumsnet a banned site and although I have internet at home, I never felt like logging on when I was getting in from work and eating dinner at 9pm every night! But have now stopped for maternity leave and having had a mad week xmas shopping and diy in house etc I have only just about caught up with the last 2 weeks postings!!!

What exciting news, congrats to all of you who have had babies, it is so lovely to read.

I'm now 39+2 and I am sure bubs will not be early after my faux pas last week....I was trying to be organised and set up a draft text in my mobile to all the people I wanted to know once he/she arrives, I then wrote a draft message along the lines of Baby X arrived on X, weighing X, Mother & X are fine. THEN...meant to save it ready for DH just to fill in the blanks and I hit SEND and there didn't seem to be any way to stop it sending! So I sent this message to about 40 people and within minutes received about 10 texts of Congrats, but asking "Is it a boy or a girl!) plus 3 people trying to phone me...do they honestly think I'd be answering the phone if I've just given birth! I then spent the next hour texting all these people agian saying it was a mistake...how embarrased was I?? Just when I thought I'd covered everyone, 2 hours later another text arrived saying "Flowers are on their way to you" so hurriedly had to phone this person and explain. So I think I have tempted fate and having sent this mad message 2 weeks early I now reckon it will come 2 weeks late!

Went to a yogacise class this morning, nearly didn't go as it meant getting up early, but so glad I did as it's only the 2nd one I've been to and it was really good going through relaxation and breathing techniques for labour, the teacher is actually a midwife at our local hospital, and is brilliant.

Then this afternoon we went to the show round at the birth centre which I hope to be able to use. We couldn't see the birth pool room as there was someone in there and the glass panel was all steamed up which was exciting and terrifying at the same time.

For all of you who're mums already are there any good threads on here you can recommend reading for breastfeeding advice as it's one of the things I'm quite worried about, being turfed out of hospital quick and not being sure what to do?

Look forward to hearing of more babies soon

mixedmama · 15/12/2007 17:15

Oh Poppy that made me laugh.

Getting a lot of tightenings today... 4 in the last hour, only 10 secs each, lots of niggling tho. Doubt it means anything tho.;

Lizzer · 15/12/2007 17:37

Congratulations fifi and cazzybabs! Welcome to the world for both of your lo's..

I'm still feeling far too perky for 40+5, not a twinge in sight and I'm actually loving being so pg! I know that sounds weird but I will miss the bump once its gone and I love walking round with my bump sticking out of my coat. I do want this baby before xmas (I'm eating pineapple and bouncing on ball today) but I've decided just to make the most out of the few precious lie-ins I can get and stop stressing...

Ooo i hope Ambi and Skid are well on their way..

Poppy10, your post about the texts was v funny, and fancy getting mn banned from your work, you naughty girl!!!

Lizzer · 15/12/2007 17:40

Beckle, i keep thinking the same about being organised too - however I've done everything I can think of now and still no sign....

Bouncingturtle · 15/12/2007 17:55

Hey Poppy! How embarrassing for you, your text story!

Well I've just had a bath with some of my clary sage massage oil and ate some fresh pineapple.

Noticed a bit of gloop before I got in! Clear though, not bloody at all. Back has been aching but not now after bath. Don't think this baby will be coming any time soon!

macdoodle · 15/12/2007 17:58

I feel so odd today bit detached and unbelievably tired (38+3)...no pains lots gloop for few days now....
BUT lot stress with H house money etc so thats probably it.....not a happy bunny today

Bouncingturtle · 15/12/2007 18:23

Poor you, Macdoodle!
Know what you mean re:tiredness, been feeling like that for several days now!
Get some rest - and have you had your hb tested recently? My MW recommended I get mine checked when I complained of tiredness.
Hope the situation with your H is sorted out soon! You could do without the stress!

BunnyBaby · 15/12/2007 20:06

Hi girls - when I looked at clary sage I found mixed things about it being a pain reliever as well as a stimulant. So it may not necessarily bring it on. Midwife also told me to get pineapple, but try and eat 'orrible core bit as that is where the cervix thinning enzymes are (bleugh)!

Congrats to all new mummies - I'm only calm as so overdue now that I know it really can't be long now ..... can it?

Also - everyone now has to come to us at Christmas and New Year. So we can sit back and not have to chase around (hurray)

Got Tree today, and Christmas outfit in M&S last night which was interesting (trying to find non-pregnant clothes with HUGE bump). Also went to Oriental City and had a hot Thai meal.

Will try the "hubby-sweep" tonight!

bambino1andbigbump · 15/12/2007 20:22

Whats a hubby sweep? Do you mean sex?

suey2 · 15/12/2007 20:29

lol poppy! and thankyou for reminding me to at least sort out a list. So many people seem to want to know when this LO arrives.

good to have you back MM

sorry you are feeling pooey macdoo, i guess when we are this PG we are bound to have a few off days.

will try and garner up the energy for a hubby sweep tonight, but i still find it kind of weird when i know my muum is asleep upstairs!

och well 'the departed' is on sky movies tonight- maybe a bit of scorcese will get things going!

OP posts:
suey2 · 15/12/2007 20:30

bambino i am assuming DHs appendage is acting like MW's hand. well coined!

OP posts:
bambino1andbigbump · 15/12/2007 20:32

hehehe! I'm very dim sometimes!

HoHoHousemum · 15/12/2007 23:39

Quiet on here tonight - does that mean everyone's trying the hubby sweep or all just watching the Xms movies ?!!

Must be Christmas as DH was happily sat next to me watching a "chick-flick" - we watched The Holiday on sky, wasn't as bad as I thought it would be but totally full of cliches and predictable - only watched it because DD2 almost had a part as an extra in it, but the scene she was auditioned for didn't get used in the end anyway so glad she didn't get it as I'd have been hacked off to have paid money to see that!

Hope all those with twinges are finding it leads on to a baby- I'm getting v impatient now as haven't gone more than 38 weeks before so goodness knows how grumpy I'll be if I go overdue! Backache and AF type cramps today but no more now. Ho-hum... nighty night all.

insywinsyspider · 16/12/2007 05:31

been awake since midnight - contractions every 8 minutes, having a slight panic that I haven't got everything I need and getting all emotional about it not just being the 3 of us very soon - hasn't bothered me till now, dh and ds asleep - nothing on telly, I should have rented some films!

sorry all about me - hope everyone else is doing ok x

SAmbiClaus · 16/12/2007 06:58

Oh insy, good luck. Hope you?ve managed to relax (as much as possible)

Poppy that text thing is very funny, I?ve done a draft text too, but haven?t managed to send it yet.

Ok so I?m still preggers, still getting contractions but not so often now. But I had what I think is a show this morning, TMI - basically it looked like my cervix had sneezed, lots of snot!! Lovely.. But I?m due for induction anyways at 8, but feel better that baby is moving (albeit quite slowly) and I?m not crowbar-ing her out before she?s ready, just helping her speed things up.
So will finish getting ready for hospital now, fingers crossed my next post will be a birth announcement?

buzzybee · 16/12/2007 06:58

Hi Insy, hope you're doing Ok and have talked to MW now.

Rapidly becoming vvv of all these babies popping!

Good luck!!
