Chloe, how are you doing now?
Dont be too negative, you might not have such a long way to go. All you need is for your contractions to kick in a bit and begin being effective and you could be off for a flying start
Its often the case that a long latent phase can result in things moving more quickly later on - each and every pain and sensation is doing something. Your body is a finely tuned birthing machine and will be doing what it needs to do.
Your not ONLY 2cm - your cervix has started thinning and has opened 1/5th of the way it needs to to let baby out. Your only 1cm away from being classed as being in established labour.
Try and relax, visualise yourself opening up and meeting your baby.
You need to produce oxytocin to generate good contractions - oxytocin is produced when your calm, relaxed, informed, safe etc - when you produce adrenalin it has the opposite effect so if your anxious, stressed, scared, negative etc you could actually be inhibitting your oxytocin production
In such a small time you will have your darling baby in your arms. Look after yourself, eat, drink, rest. Cuddle up with hubby, do what you need to do to get through this bit.
Your doing GREAT
I would put cheerleading outfit on but it wouldnt fit over this mahoosive bump !
