Baloney Pony??? Where does that come from??

Scraggyaggy · 10/11/2004 14:23

The other thing is that I am now going to bed at 9/9.30pm, and I always wear my support vests and pj bottoms, so it's a no-go area!!

Tessiebear · 10/11/2004 14:35

Can someone remind me what a sex drive is?? DH is a bit shocked at the decline. Obviously being so up for it when ttcing to absolutely nothing now!!! I made the mistake the other day of saying to DH "I am not sick as long as i have something to suck on!" - i was thinking of boiled sweets at the time

MrsWednesday · 10/11/2004 14:39

Charleypops, it doesn't sound like you weren't overreacting about the hospital, it sounds awful.

Anything good happen in Neighbours LM? Has Izzy been found out?

(sniggering at the baloney pony!)

I haven't been to see the GP, I just don't think there is any point after my previous experiences with them. I'm going to try and hang on until my nuchal scan in a couple of weeks but if I'm really stressing I might throw myself at my doctor's feet and beg for a scan.

charleypops · 10/11/2004 14:39

I think it was naughty Katie Puckrick on "The Word" (back in the '80's) said she was going to saddle up and go for a ride on the baloney pony. Don't know where she got it from

katzguk · 10/11/2004 14:42

only one!!!

charleypops · 10/11/2004 14:43

Poor you MrsW! Can't you phone your doctor - I've phoned mine in the past if he's not appointments left, if you speak to the receptionist she might be able to sort out a phone call?

sweetheart · 10/11/2004 14:45

I go out for an hour and you lot go mad!!!

LM - I'm only 7weeks (tomorrow) so I wasn't expecting to feel sick before this really. I find eating helps to stop the sick feeling BUT only if it's small amounts often. I find if I pig out I feel worse - and snacking just isn't helping anymore - so I'm trying to eat a small meal/sandwich every 3 (ish) hours.

I agree that the 1st trimester is the worst - and as far as sex goes.........
Dh and I haven't done the dead since just before I found out I was preg. I just can't face it - I'm too tired. Luckily dh has a low sex drive so it doesn't really bother him. And what with ttc - we had more sex in the last 9 months thatn ever before so we're all sex'd out at the mo!!!!

Charleypops, I think the fact the midwife was rude to me was down tot he fact I was a young mum.
Sopie of Wessex (????)had her baby there last year (thats Price Edwards wife isn't it?!?!?!?)

sweetheart · 10/11/2004 14:46

hee hee TB

MrsWednesday · 10/11/2004 14:47

Only one?! Are you pleased or disappointed Katzguk?

Scraggyaggy · 10/11/2004 14:47

MrsW - I suggest you pick up the phone right now and speak to your GP. You are obviously getting stressed and I don't think that's good for you or the little one. Nothing bad is going to happen by talking to the GP.

sweetheart · 10/11/2004 14:51

Oh, sorry katz - I wasn't ignoring you - I wa a bit confussed by your post. It's happening alot recently!!!!!!

Oh well - one little healthy bump still fab!!!!!

Sophmum · 10/11/2004 15:02

Afternoon all - Congrats Katz - only one though? wow, I thought with all that m/s it might be two.

Sorry to hear about your worries MrsW. Your GP sounds very difficult if you can't get a scan referral with your m/c history. Can you really make a fuss? Hope you can sort something out.

No change here - no bleeding yet, and symptoms as normal. It all seems very odd and I don't really see how I could be 7 weeks instead of 10. Freak possibilites keep popping into my mind like, could I have lost one really early on, had a postivie test on that, then conceived again 2 weeks later? In which case with no bleeding at all, it must have somehow absorbed? Not remotely likely is it. DH still hoping for the best and I don't really know what to think.

Lua · 10/11/2004 15:04

Hi Again,
thanks for all you're warm wellcome.
Uwila - I will be in the CFM on the 19th, 2:30... any chance I'll see you there?
Lipstickmum - I didn't have to go all the way down to London, but it would jhave costed 200 pounds to do here in Manchester. So I figure, I will take a whole weekend off and go to London where I get the best people to do the test and pay much less!
Who else is doing, or have done nuchal test? I am 35, will be 36 in January, and have been wrestling with the tests issue since I found out I was pregnant.... I decide I didn't want to have it, because I think it will have a higher chance of stressing me out, than of making me feel reassured. BUt my husband would really like me to do more tests.... So the nuchal was our compromise. Hopefully everything will be ok! I am a nerve wreck!
So anyone knows what is the record number of messages in MN per hour? We must be close to breaking it! I might have to give up work to kepp up with you guys !!!!

Scraggyaggy · 10/11/2004 15:19

Katz - Are they absolutley sure? There isn't one hiding behind the other???

Soph - Hopefully, your dates are slightly out and all's ok. When are you going back?

My midwife is coming over to the house tonight so we can meet her for the first time... scary... hope she doesn't ask me too many embarrassing questions!!

teabelly · 10/11/2004 15:20

Hi Lua, welcome we're nearly the same age - I'm 36 in december! I'm having my nuchal scan on friday.

Katz, I bet that's a relief So have they amended your date? with ds everytime I had a scan they changed his dates!!

Re bd(ing) am I the only one who's randier?? poor dh, I did this last time too, just when he didn't want to hump a flump I got all randy

Uwila · 10/11/2004 15:25

Lua, fetal medicine centre (FMC) for me for an 11:00 scan. So, I don't think there will be any overlap. What is CFM? Is one of us dyslexic?

Sophmum · 10/11/2004 15:25

Not until next Tuesday Scraggy. It had to be at least a week so they can see any definite growth or not.

Lua · 10/11/2004 15:33

Uwila - i guess you just diagnosed me!! I always wonder what was wrong with me . Good luck with your scan!

So, anyone hoping for boy or girl? I can't wait to find out! I find it so hard to think about "it". Also, I can't wait to go through the boxes of stuff I have left over from my daughter and decide what to give away and what to keep!
I have the feeling that this one is a boy.... I think in one way a boy would be really good, so I still will have the most special daughter ever and a fabulous son, no comparisons! Anyone else afraid of not having enough love for 2 ????)
On the other hand, DH and I are terrified of little boys ! They seem to have so much energy! and we are so laid back....

sweetheart · 10/11/2004 15:41

Lua,

I've had that fear - that I won't love this one as much.

I'm especially worried if it's a boy as I don't seem to build the same bonds with boys as I do with girls - ie, nieces and nephews etc!!!

Tessiebear · 10/11/2004 15:43

YOU WILL LOVE IT EXACTLY THE SAME!!! I had these fears when expecting DS2 - i can honestly say i love both my boys EXACTLY the same. It did take slightly longer to bond with DS2 though as i didnt have as much time to give exclusively to him.

sweetheart · 10/11/2004 15:45

TB - do you think you would have felt differently if youd had a dd snd time round!!

Thats my main worry - I'm not very good with boys and for some reason I have a feeling thats what I'm carrying.

Tessiebear · 10/11/2004 15:49

tbh Sweetheart i desperately wanted a DD 2nd time round - i felt it would be easier to love another one if it was a different sex because i wouldnt have the direct comparison IYKWIM This time round i still feel DS2 is my "baby" - even though he is 4, so i would like a girl just so he will always be the youngest boy - if that makes sense!

Tessiebear · 10/11/2004 15:51

btw - boys are great - very easy to please as long as they get a LOT of love and affection and achance to burn up all their energy. IMO boys are not as complex as girls - they have quite simple needs (they are after all in training to be men )

sweetheart · 10/11/2004 15:53

yeah that makes sense!!

I know I'm probably worrying about nothing - it's just that dream I had the other night - about the twin boys - In my dream I hated them, and at the moment all I feel about having another baby is panic!!! I think I'm just too stressed out in general - roll on Xmas so I can have a holiday!!!!

Can I just ask - has either of your ds's ever had a wee whilst you have been changing a nappy and got wee in your mouth - it's something I've heard can happen with a boy and the thought of it creeps me out!!!
