at one stage i was puking 20+ a day thankfuly its not as bad now

fingers crossed i get to 37 weeks and this one behaves but judging by the start and whta cons said its not looking very good which im gutted about.

my daughter also has a form of haemophilia and my son has severe asthma, reflux, swallowing probs, food allergies and sleep apnoea

im defo mad has alot of nasty comments from people about y am i having another but people have more kids in worse situations than ours

Denny185 · 27/11/2007 11:25

OMG - surley it would be cheaper to pull them out and have dentures? Cant believe how expensive dental work is, shame he cant get pregnant and get it free

natalies1982 · 27/11/2007 11:26

i dont know y im so scared of c section think its just the thought of being sliced open and the pain after

ToastAddict · 27/11/2007 11:27

Hi all,

Haven't been on for a while as it's been so manic at work, have been trying to catch up with everyone's news.
Congrats on all the scans (mine's on Friday!! ), welcome to all the newcomers and {{{{{hugs}}}} to mummyofaprincess - hope you're hanging in there

Have to go out in a bit, but wanted to ask something, before I ring my m/w in a panic. For a few days now, I've been getting what I think are Braxton Hicks - mainly notice it when I'm lying in bed at night - my tummy just seems to go really hard for 30 seconds or so, doesn't hurt at all. Is this BH? Is it normal to get them now? (I'm 19+4) I always thought you got them later?

Thanks
x

Denny185 · 27/11/2007 11:27

Nat - surely its your decision no one elses, they are v rewarding at the end of it so worth all the hassle of getting there

Soph73 · 27/11/2007 11:28

LOL at Denny - unfortunately over here you don´t get free dental treatment when you´re pregnant. I told him I´d pull them out myself but he wasn´t convinced Wish I´d trained as a dentist.

scampmum · 27/11/2007 11:29

I had one last night and again this morning tummy was rock hard when I woke up - I think it can be normal to have them early and more so if #2 or more (though don't know about elective section as I guess uterus is less 'trained' to contract)

Denny185 · 27/11/2007 11:29

Toast - yes they are BH, everyone will get at dif stages dont think unusual to get at this stage

natalies1982 · 27/11/2007 11:30

hi toast
i think its rare to get them this early but can happen i think if they r not causing u pain then its ok, is this ur 1st? when is ur nxt app? maybe ring her anyway just for professional peace of mind so to speak

ive been getting "contractions" like braxton hicks but mine r very painful and midwife and cons said my uterus was defo contracting

Soph73 · 27/11/2007 11:31

Nat - it´s completely up to you how many children you have, no matter whether they have problems or not - some people are so ...... help, I´m struggling with trying to find the right words - but, you know what I mean, right

scampmum · 27/11/2007 11:32

(ps - it's definitely not just my toned abs )

natalies1982 · 27/11/2007 11:34

denny yeh i agree my decision, my life, i know i can cope with a 3rd if he/she has same or diff probs then we will just cope, holly and matthew r under GOSH we r up there on monday matthew is being tested CF.

obv would love a healthy child but we r kidn of prepared now for any probs matthew and hollys where abit of a shock to the system but dealing with matthews probs for a long time now and hollys for over a year

do u guys have other kids?

scampmum · 27/11/2007 11:34

Opinionated? Judgemental? Fascist? Forthright? and the funny thing is they're conciliatory sweetness personified to other people/at other times - it all just gets directed at the hapless pregnant woman. Already getting narked with the constant barrage of 'wow, aren't you getting massive?' interspersed with 'god, you're far too small for 19 weeks, are you starving the poor thing?'. Obviously that's small fry compared to Natalie, but it is amazing how people seem to think you must have their opinion or die.

TheMaskedPoster · 27/11/2007 11:36

Ah-ha! Found you all (have been far too busy in RL )

Hello to all newcomers and CONGRATS on all the scans (once again I haven't caught up on all the posts etc)

DD had a bit of a tummy bug over the weekend, so have been busy looking after her - however she is much better today so can go to Nursery (hoorah!).

Hope all are well - and I am finally getting a 'bump' - yipee

VictorianSqualor · 27/11/2007 11:37

Braxton Hicks are normal at this stage, I have had them for a while, especially after sex.

Natalie, try not to worry about a CS, I have had an em CS under GA, and an elecitve CS under epidural, they aren't fun, but they aren't as terrible as you may imagine either.

VictorianSqualor · 27/11/2007 11:39

Natalie, do not take any notice of people who say you shouldn't have anymore, it's no-one elses business.
I have a DS (3 in dec) and a DD (7)

ooooooooh, I just realised I need to change the list as she is one year older!

Scamp - the best bit is when random strangers come up and start touching your bump - quite glad will have a coat over it this time!

Nat - hope all goes well at GOS and you get an all clear, my friends little boy has CF (now 4) initially a lot of adaptaions to life but it just becomes part of routine to have meds and do physio etc. He was poorly B4 diagnosed but now well managed hes a happy healthy little boy.

EllieG · 27/11/2007 11:45

Agree with others natalie - people are much too quick to give their opinions on subjects which don't concern them where pregnancy and children are concerned. Bah.

I put on 2 pounds this weekend from eating so much birthday cake and pizza

EllieG · 27/11/2007 11:51

I am going to hit hte next person who comes up and rubs my tummy. I REALLY don't like it. Am feeling dead militant today though mind, so perhaps is affected by that. Plus a bloke who I don't like did it which was just nasty and creeped me out.

VictorianSqualor · 27/11/2007 11:54

Peachy??? Didn't you have some rather rude comments made about having another child from your in-laws??

Some people that have one child with no problems would find it impossible to have a second, some with 5 children each with different issues, would be able to cope perfectly well. It's just the way we are.

DP was really unsure about whether we should have all the tests during pregnancy, and I said I didn't want them, the way I see it is my baby is coming, no matter what, it's in me and it is going to be born.

When it is born if there are any problems then they will be dealt with and we will work round them, it is my child at the end of it, and I shall love it just the same as I do my other two.

There is nothing to say that any of us on this thread will have any problems, and nothing to say we won't all have problems (except probability of course, don't tell the maths teacher!) so I don't personally think that the chance of something being wrong is enough not to have a baby if you believe you can cope and are decided you want one.

or in other tell the nosey gits to f**k off

Ellie - perfect a piercing, drop dead glare - that´s what I´ve done & it seems to be working a treat. However, people say I can kill a person at 10 paces with some of my looks so I´m obviously well practised

northeastmummy · 27/11/2007 12:00

Good morning everyone (just!). I've just caught up on all the posts - I've really missed out this morning.

Hi Natalie. It sounds to me like you are very strong - there aren't many people who could go through all that and still be so philosophical about it all. It certainly puts my moans and groans into perspective .

On the subject of my moans, I'm only just out of bed. My tummy bug is still with me - and I feel rotten. Does anyone know if there's anything I can take while pregnant? I had a bug when I was breastfeeding DD and I know there was very little I could take at that point - but I think I was allowed Pepto Bismol.

Also, the bug won't be getting to bubs will it? I've not been concerned up to now but this is Day 3 so it seems to be dragging on longer than I thought it would.

Soph73 · 27/11/2007 12:08

Morning NEM. Don´t think there is anything you can take tbh - sorry to hear you´re feeling horrible & hope it passes soon. Not sure whether lo would be affected, don´t think so though.

scampmum · 27/11/2007 12:31

VS - hear, hear! that brought a tear to my eye (a good one). Xx
