Not very original, but the thread WAS becoming ridiculously big.

OP posts:

ooh preggers that must have been scary Hang in there girlies. I guess they know how much shopping you've done for them and can't wait to see all the pink......
Keep those legs crossed preggers and I'm keeping everything else crossed for you.

Derah what a pain. When we went to California in 1980 my mother procured soem sedatives for us for the flight!!! Guess that's not done now!

Meet up-- 26th is better for me although I can come on the 19th, I'll just probabaly have a 7 year old with me.

e14mum · 19/12/2007 11:35

Oooo... preggers, keep your legs crossed! I'm crossing mine in support that the twinnies hold out as long as they can!

I don't have a diary for next year yet. So, (pg logic) I must be free on either of those dates. John Lewis was good. Lots of space!

HQ hope you are feeling better.

marchmum hope all is ok with you and your DH.

turtledove23 · 19/12/2007 12:24

preggers...Keep those legs crossed! Thinking good thoughts for you.
I cannot think about anything except that I finish work in 6 hours. Oh, and chocolate.

turtledove23 · 19/12/2007 12:26

that made no sense. thinking good thoughts AND the rest. [pregnancy brain emoticon]

surprisedandexcitedmum · 19/12/2007 12:32

Preggers, as a first-timer the popping noise sounds bizarre, but I'm sitting here with my legs crossed that you not only get to wear that frock, but that you also don't have to give birth in it!

Turtle dove - the other day I couldn't even manage to count and I'm supposed to be a qualified accountant! (Thank god I don't do that anymore.)

Am I the only one being exhausted by their commute these days?

HolidaysQueen · 19/12/2007 12:51

Oooh preggers, I think you've had enough advice about keeping your legs crossed now, but I don't really have anything else to add! I have my fingers crossed for you that they hang around for a while longer - maybe just tell your girls that it's too cold outside and they're far better off staying in your snug, cosy tummy!

I'm feeling a lot better today - thanks all for asking! I spoke to the midwife who said she has had lots of similar calls in the past few days so she's pretty sure it's a bug doing the rounds (she also told me there is no point coming in for a check as loads of midwives are getting sick with it at work so I'm better off at home )

The two colleagues who had the same lunch as me yesterday are both okay, so that backs up the bug theory - I was more worried it was food poisoning. I'm very achy and have no energy (unsurprisingly as I've only eaten 3 slices of toast since about 3pm yesterday) but otherwise I feel a lot more normal and the baby is having the occasional wriggle so I think he's surviving I'm off work today and will probably stay off tomorrow then head in on Friday for final festivities.

dearh - if I haven't missed you, hope the flight works out okay and that you have a great holiday.

turtle - enjoy your last few hours!!! So jealous - I've still got 6 weeks after Christmas although at least I drop to 4 day weeks then.

So when do we hit third trimester? Is that 28 weeks? I'm not 28 weeks until next year! Okay, so it's not long to 3rd Jan when I do hit that milestone but I can kid myself for a bit longer that the baby's arrival is not very close...

GLAMpresentsforMAMAplease · 19/12/2007 12:54

HQ, meant to ask how you were, sorry Glad to hear you're feeling better. I finsh work this Friday although tbh, I finished to all intents and purposes last Friday. My brain just will not engage.

merryberry · 19/12/2007 15:44

glad your feeling a bit better HQ. Pgagain, you are a calm and positive inspiration! Good luck with the monitoring and hanging in there, and with the births, if it comes to that.

need to go and have a sit down and think after the shock of finding one of us already teetering on the edge of delivery already! WOW!

preggersagain · 19/12/2007 15:51

personally i wouldn't say i'm too calm atm!!! i am wearing my maternity pj's and slippers and sitting in my office at work to finish off some paperwork for a VAT audit- i have been banned from venturing upstairs onto the shop-floor and dh is instructing staff to provide regular tea and biscuits and generally check i'm not in labour

Feeeling decidedly weird though- it could be this audit comming at such a blardy awful time or it could be the twins!

AND I still haven't done the MA form

surprisedandexcitedmum · 19/12/2007 16:10

preggersagain - I'm not surprised you are feeling weird, that must just about cover everything. In an odd way I'm slightly jealous, although I only have 11 weeks to go (allegedly) it seems like an awfully long time before I get to meet my LO.
(Yes, I know I may wish she was safely, and quietly, back in my tummy at somepoint after she's born)

Good luck

merryberry · 19/12/2007 16:24

THUNK<

you're working? Wow! Well I hope the audit goes well and doesn't raise your BP!

e14mum · 19/12/2007 16:47

Working in your pjs and slippers!? Wish I was in my pjs and slippers. LO had suddenly developed sharp elbows and knees.

(Did DH/staff suggest you wear them in order to make sure you don't end up on the shop floor?)

imjin100 · 19/12/2007 17:16

preggeragain - audits are always designed to be at the worst possible time but perhaps on this occassion it's good cos it's keeping you out of trouble, and off your feet!
Derah - have a fantastic holiday - can't believe christmas is here. I certainly feel the brain has engaged but only on holiday style and christmas stuff.
Just seen osteopath man who moved the baby (don't ask me how but all I know is it's clever) the fact that this little might has its toes stuck in my ribs is not aiding my back!

love to all

fitnforty · 19/12/2007 18:05

preggers, tell those girls to hang on in there, you don't want to sample hospital turkey!
Lucky you with an audit pre xmas, ours starts on 7th Jan so have to work w/e of 5th & 6th...

Just been up to London for a day's training, glad I don't have to do that again for a while. Train is all very well, but I had to get a cab to the station as I couldn't manage the walk to the platform from the station car park

Prob won't be online much for the next week as my parents arrive tomorrow for an xmas visit (and of course we have the lodger in residence until Saturday) so i'll have to at least pretend to be sociable.

HAve a lovely xmas everyone and no more accidents, illnesses or premature births!

derah · 19/12/2007 18:49

Aaaaaargh, so now, with us all departing for the airport at 5am tomorrow morning, DD has started projectile vomiting at regular intervals!

Was I really such an evil person in a former life to deserve this? And poor DD isn't too happy either!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!

merryberry · 19/12/2007 19:22

uhoh, oh no. you poor things! what a worry

surprisedandexcitedmum · 19/12/2007 20:21

Derah, good luck with the flight, I hope the holiday improves after take off. Take care.

skidoodle · 19/12/2007 20:35

oh no derah, that really sucks. I'm thinking as many good thoughts for you as I can. Soon you'll be there and this will all just be a bad memory.

HQ, glad you're feeling a bit better. 3rd trimester does start at 28 weeks I afaik. I'm 28 weeks now and I've suddenly grown enormous.

A fortnight ago at 26 weeks I went out with my SIL who was 28 weeks then and we were all laughing at how giant she was in comparison to me when there was just 2 weeks in the difference.

Well, I'm laughing on the other side of my giant protruding belly now, I can tell you.

preggers, another one keeping things crossed for you. hope your girls stay put for another little while.

marchmum - I didn't know 3rd trimester meant bitchiness, although it certainly make sense of my mood the last week or so.

turtle, now you're FREEEEEEE. I bet it feels good .

fnf - happy christmas, hope the times passes quickly until you are rid of your lodger.

[waves to everyone else]

papaya · 19/12/2007 21:28

Hello ladies, have been trying to keep upto date with the ever mammoth task of all the posts I have just found out i should qualify for Maternity Allowance so dh and are VERY chuffed about this....anyone else finding the form extremely LONG to fill in!

On another note, is anyone feeling a bit achey, erm, down below? The only way I can describe it is a very very mild version of how i felt after I had DD which is a bit worrying!! Do you think its just things erm loosening and preparing for the occasion to come?

derah · 19/12/2007 21:34

OK, DD finally in bed.... the pharmacist suggested it might just be excitement and maybe he was right. In between bouts of vomiting DD has been rather hyper and just wouldn't go to sleep! Her poor mum, on the other hand, is completely knackered, but we still have lots to pack/organise cos we spent all afternoon/evening dealing with pukey DD!

Whimper!

Anyway, enough of my rantings, like some of you have said, soon we'll be there and all will be well.

I doubt I'll be on again until the new year, so wishing all of you a very very merry Christmas and I'll see you next year!!

Preggers, no having babies until I'm back, OK?

HolidaysQueen · 20/12/2007 09:13

Morning all - I'm feeling a lot better today, although still quite tired. I've been cheered up no end by this thread though!

Preggers - are your little girls still keeping warm and cosy?

Turtle - enjoy your first day being a SAHM!!!

Papaya - hello again!
