Sorry to hear that @MrsF111 but it’s good you’ve got answers so quickly. As you said, you’ve been lucky enough to to fall quickly these two times so hopefully it happens again and it’s third time lucky for you 🤞🏻I hope you aren’t waiting too long for AF to arrive ❤️

@Pancakes7 nice celebratory breakfast 😊 I was doing the same thing. Telling myself everything would be fine and that I’d either measure exactly on time or a few days ahead, as I really didn’t want to be measuring behind and it messing with my head.

SophW194 · 12/03/2021 13:46

@MrsF111 I’m so sorry this has happened to you and I can only echo the ladies in saying look after yourself and keep positive for 3rd time lucky (easy to say but hard to do I know) 💝

@Pancakes7 congratulations !! So so pleased for you and glad you enjoyed your breakfast 😋

I have a question for any of the ladies that are a little further along like me: do you still have morning sickness ? I’m not complaining (I said to hubby I hope I’m riddled with sickness so I know the baby is progressing) just curious as I never had any morning sickness with both my boys it was a lovely time 😅. I’m 13 weeks 5 days and thought it would be gone by now but I’m still having to be really careful about what I eat, when I eat and how often I eat..has anyone got any tips or advice or experiencing the same ? I’m trying the usual advice of 6 bland snacks rather than 3 bigger meals..I’m also really food averse to lots of stuff (mainly unhealthy stuff luckily) which again I’ve never experienced before.

Thanks very much and have a great day xx

Firevie · 12/03/2021 14:01

Many thanks @Pancakes7 and apologies for my pathetic questions. Went for a a whopper meal at Burger King and chicken nuggets LOL!
@MrsF111 so sorry to read! You must be devastated! Hopefully you can grief with your partner and wishing you all the very best! Xxx

@SophW194 I was nauseous from 5 weeks to birth on my 2 dc, the magical 12 week marker doesn't always cure it unfortunately!

I'm still here in a bit of limbo, started bleeding 3 days ago at 6.5 weeks, then it stopped just as suddenly. Then it started again a bit yesterday, then stopped again. No pain, still nauseous which had only kicked in at the weekend. It'll be 10-14 days before I get seen by epu I'd say, no point contacting them now anyway, just waiting to see if it ramps up properly or stops completely. I could book a private scan for this week coming but at the same time that's €100 when I'll see epu the following week.

So right now it could be fine, oranother missed miscarriage or a very slow starting miscarriage!

SophW194 · 12/03/2021 15:25

@Garman oh gosh I’m so sorry to hear you’re experiencing that 💘 fingers crossed it’s the first option and baby’s fine 🙏🏻 I’m sorry to hear that the private scans are so expensive over there too ☹️. I feel really cheeky asking now, but did you find anything that helped with the nausea ? And did you have boys or girls ? Xx

Garman · 12/03/2021 15:33

Thanks @SophW194, tbh I would be very surprised if it was option 1 but I've made my peace with it either way now, I am very lucky to have two lovely boys.

The only things that ever helped me with the nausea were eating little and often, never a big meal and not having much milk. I went off so many foods and tea because of it. So nauseous right now and I was fine this morning! Always get worse for me once I start eating for the day, so I'd be fine for hours but once I eat something it starts.

Pancakes7 · 12/03/2021 15:43

@SophW194 With my son I was nauseous from when I found out till maybe 13/14 weeks I think. I can't remember exactly. So you never know, it might fade soon. Definitely having digestive biscuits helped and tic tacs.

@MrsF111 I am soo soo sorry to hear your news, my heart goes out to you...Ive been there so I know that nothing can be said to make it better but I have everything crossed for 3rd time lucky!!

JRH4622 · 12/03/2021 16:07

I had my midwife appointment yesterday and I was so anxious, they weren't going to let my partner in the apt with me but after having a D&C on my own last year due to covid I refused the apt unless he was there! They didn't argue and let him in! Well my midwife is amazing...it all feels right this time, I'm in the right house, right job, my body feels strong and now the right midwife! Boom!

imisscoffee · 12/03/2021 16:17

Wonderful news @Pancakes7, I've been wondering how you got on. McDonald's breakfast is the ultimate preggo food, I had one at 7am on the day I had my daughter, it was the only thing I ate and I had her at 11pm. Fuel! 😂

Pancakes7 · 12/03/2021 16:24

@imisscoffee Haha that's brilliant. I must admit I prefer McDonald's lunch. But it was still good. I'm still nauseous though so I only managed half my McMuffin lol. Have DH my hash brown. But we went to M&S and got burgers and brioche buns, onion rings, garlic mushrooms and chips for tonight 😋 I hope I can manage it! Haha

@Garmen if you've bled red, EPU should give you an earlier reassurance scan. Just remember it is possible to bleed a little and everything be ok. So long as it doesn't turn into period style amount accompanied by strong period pain. Fingers crossed for you X

@SophW194 the only thing I can eat when nauseous is potato! Make some wedges 👌🏻 not the best diet but better than feeling sick and hungry xx

Bellabubble · 12/03/2021 16:49

@SophW194 my midwife said the nausea can go on until around week 16, and often if it hasn’t shifted by then she said you mind find you still get bouts of it throughout the pregnancy. I’m only 11+5 but have been feeling like I’ve had the longest hangover in the world as it started at about 5 and a half weeks 🤢

@MrsF111 I’m so sorry to hear about your scan :( I have my fingers crossed for 3rd time lucky for you x

Bellabubble · 12/03/2021 16:51

@Garman I’m sorry to read about your bleeding and the epu! will your epu not see you if you have bleeding? It seems cruel to not see you for 2 weeks!

PumpkinEverything · 12/03/2021 16:54

Sounds like a great dinner @Pancakes7 😊 my husband gets a McDonald’s breakfast every Wednesday when we do our shopping, and I normally just get a Starbucks as my treat, with sometimes crumpets or pastries from Asda. Really going to need to get myself a breakfast some week tho! I love their hash browns 😍

Ah sorry this is happening @Garman I really really hope it’s nothing. Do you have previous experience with EPU saying it’ll take that long to be able to see you? Seems like such a long wait from them if something could be wrong.

Garman · 12/03/2021 16:58

Epu would just tell me to go to A&E when it was proper red bleeding, they tell me to just wait and see now. A&E would just then refer me to Epu who will take 4-5 days to give me an appointment as it's not urgent.

I have my first gp appointment booked for next Friday so I figure I might as well wait it out and see if it becomes a full miscarriage before then, she would refer me to Epu then but again it'll be about 4 days before I'd then get an appointment. I actually looked at private scans earlier and there's none available within a 1 hour radius until next Friday at the earliest anyway.

Garman · 12/03/2021 17:00

@PumpkinEverything when I had heavy bleeding and cramps in December I was told to go to A&E who examined me, referred to Epu and sent me on my way. I thought Epu were calling me imminently, turned out the obgyn in A&E meant they'd contact me for an appointment that week. I was seen Friday after attending A&E Monday, by which time I had finished miscarrying.

Garman · 12/03/2021 17:06

Sorry I forgot to mention, I can't self refer to Epu, it has to be through gp or A&E. Impossible to get to speak to my gp now, but also I don't really want to go to epu now as they were very annoying and put me through needless stress during last miscarriage, easier to wait until it's done before drawing them on me at all.

PumpkinEverything · 12/03/2021 17:13

Ah okay that makes sense then @Garman 😔 as far as I know I can just call them up myself here and thought you would be the same, so I see why there’s such a long delay.
Hopefully the next week before you see her isn’t too long and there’s no bleeding, and she can refer you for a scan. I see what you mean about it potentially being a waste of money if you go next Friday only to be able to go to EPU the week after.

Strawberry08 · 12/03/2021 17:17

Hi @Garman, sorry to hear about your bleed. Have you thought about going to A&E at another hospital, even if it’s a little further out?
I did this when I had pain and couldn’t face the EPU I have spent a lot of time in and they were much nicer and took it much more seriously

Garman · 12/03/2021 17:23

@strawberry08 I'm quite far from other hospitals but it wouldn't be much use, they'd say the same thing especially as I'm not currently bleeding/filling pads now, and would just try and refer me to their own epu which would probably be late next week at the earliest (not in UK, everything closed here on Wednesday 17th).
