@MrsTD88 That's great news! And what a lovely scan photo. I have a scan tomorrow, and feeling quite nervous.

@JRH4622 Oh yes, I'd forgotten about the mood swings/grumpiness. It makes sense that it would magnify the usual pregnancy symptoms. My consultant has said I should be able to come off when I get to 12wks and then she will start me on aspirin.

@Garman if I have any Cyclogest left, I'm happy to post to you. It's so rubbish you have to pay.

vitaminb33 · 24/03/2021 16:58

@MrsTD88 amazing congratulations!! Lovely scan picture 🥳

vitaminb33 · 24/03/2021 17:01

I just had a midwife ring me to organise my booking in appointment and it's unexpectedly left me in floods of tears. I don't know why putting dates in my calendar has just brought make the memory of having to delete them, and I just have this overwhelming feeling I'll have to do it again.

I also feel so stressed about my scan on Sunday I might cancel it, I feel like it might be causing me more pain than it helps at the moment.

JRH4622 · 24/03/2021 17:11

@vitaminb33 you are not alone, I was a mess when I had the call with the midwife...it throws up all those feelings! Do something nice for yourself! xx

JRH4622 · 24/03/2021 17:16

@marplemead ah ok 12 wks is the key! I am 8wks today so another month of it for me! LOL Hoping my consultant lets me end them at that point, the placenta starts producing progesterone around that time so it takes over! Fingers crossed!

glowingtwig · 24/03/2021 17:20

Hi ladies, can I join? I'm currently 5w+5 after two mc in the last 7 months, both at the 6 week mark (although the latest in December was a mmc at nearly 9 weeks, the baby measured 6+3). I do have a 17m DD but also had a very early mc before her at 5w 2 and a half years ago.

I'm literally shaking with fear most of the day every day, made worse by a not great HCG result a few days ago. I've got another HCG this evening with results Friday.

Would be good to get some extra support from ladies who feel similar to me, it's just really hard not to only see this pregnancy ending badly again Sad

My only symptoms are sore boobs, a headache (probably from huge anxiety) and I got a load of spots on my face today. No nausea

JRH4622 · 24/03/2021 17:32

@glowingtwig Congratulations!! So sorry for your losses and that you are feeling so fearful!
We are all in the same boat and we are all trying to stay positive.
My symptoms were the same at that stage, nausea doesn't always kick in til 6wks. I'm now 8wks and I still have similar symptoms and I ave nausea in an afternoon but its not every day!
Good luck with your next HCG test, we are all rooting for you! xx

Greenrubber · 24/03/2021 18:06

@mrsTD88
Great news on your scan! Is that the due date you thought you would be?

@glowingtwig
Welcome! I hope this time round works out for you it's such a stressful time. I was so gutted with my first MC that when I fell pregnant again I didn't even get slightly excited just kind of tried to forget about it, it also ended in a MC so I told myself 3rd time lucky and so far everything had been good so fingers crossed yours will be also
Take care

HereWeGoooo · 24/03/2021 18:33

@glowingtwig I'm sorry you're feeling this way. I think we all understand here how youre feeling and have experienced similar anxiety. My only advice would be to take each day as it comes, try not to allow yourself to spend too much time thinking about the pregnancy - you go into a downward spiral otherwise. Keep busy, watch funny things on TV, go outside for walks to see life going on around you, and just know that each day you're not bleeding or in pain is another day your baby is hopefully safe and well. Deep breathing, positive affirmations, picture your baby inside safe, healthy and growing xx

vitaminb33 · 24/03/2021 18:52

Thank you @JRH4622 you're right, I'll try and take it easy this evening.

Welcome @glowingtwig, I'm so sorry you're stressed, I think for all of us getting past the time we had the previous loss or losses is a stressful milestone so getting to six weeks must be really scary. Good luck with your results Friday, just take it day by day. ❤️ Also if it helps at all I'm 7 weeks now but my more prominent symptoms like nausea didn't kick in until after 6 weeks and I think that's pretty normal.

imisscoffee · 24/03/2021 19:08

Great scan picture @MrsTD88! I know what you mean with being up and down each day, yesterday I felt like an actual human being and today I'm back to being a cave troll.

@vitaminb33 being pregnant after loss brings up all sorts of emotions when you least expect them. I was wobbly after my midwife appointment too, it feels a bit like you're reliving the pregnancy you lost sometimes. Be kind to yourself, hopefully making future appointments will be easier now.

Welcome @glowingtwig, I hope Friday comes quickly and brings good news!

MrsTD88 · 24/03/2021 22:02

Thank you @JRH4622 @HereWeGoooo I hope the next 2 weeks go quickly for you! @marplemead good luck for tomorrow will be thinking of you.
@vitaminb33 it can be very overwhelming at times and there is always another hurdle or milestone. How far along will you be on Sunday?

Welcome @glowingtwig sorry you are feeling so stressed at the moment. I hope your HCG doubles and you can relax a little.

@Greenrubber thank you, I wasn't exactly sure as my cycles are all over the place but falls in line with my earlier scans.

@imisscoffee I am in cave troll mode today too, I definite didn't get enough sleep last night though so that's not helping.

vitaminb33 · 24/03/2021 23:02

@imisscoffee yes you're absolutely right, I think that's why I felt so upset by it, it was very much a feeling of reliving my last pregnancy.

@MrsTD88 I should be 8 weeks exactly(ish) according to my best guess. I'm really not feeling good about it, but I still think it would be ideal for my first scan not to be at the hospital. 🤷‍♀️ Guess we'll see how the week goes.

marplemead · 25/03/2021 08:23

Thank you @MrsTD88. I'm heading to the hospital soon. It's not an official appointment - my consultant said I could pop in at 9am for a scan. This always annoys the receptionist, and I'll probably have to end up waiting around until my consultant can squeeze me in. I'm going to take a book this time! As always, I'm trying not to get my hopes up, but all was well at my 8wk scan 2 weeks ago, so I should be feeling positive.

marplemead · 25/03/2021 09:34

Scan went well. Baby measuring exactly right at 10+3 with strong heartbeat. I'm so relieved.

Consultant said I can definitely stop the progesterone at 12 weeks (yay) and start the aspirin then. I'm also going to start on Cyclizine today. I'm sick of feeling like a zombie all the time, and don't know why I didn't ask for it sooner.

JRH4622 · 25/03/2021 09:43

@marplemead Thats brilliant news! So pleased for you!
I bet you are relieved to be coming off progesterone too!! x

Greenrubber · 25/03/2021 09:45

@marplemead
Congratulations!!

Cafeaulait27 · 25/03/2021 09:55

@marplemead congrats!!!

My progesterone runs out at 12 weeks and I’m scared to come off (even though I hate sticking it up my bum twice a day lol)

But I haven’t even had a scan yet so no idea what’s going on in there. My scan is actually one week away today! I’ll be dead on 12 weeks ... eeek.

I’m surprised you’re only going on aspirin at 12 weeks, what’s the reason for this? I’ve been on it since I got my positive test so just wondered xxx

Firevie · 25/03/2021 10:00

@marplemead yay I’m very pleased for you. I’m 10+4 today so we are v close. Just coming back from my doctors as I am running out of progesterone on Sunday and am not seeing him until Tuesday for my scan and harmony test. Think he wants me to stay on until 14weeks. I don’t mind it but they are v expensive. Have a good day ladies xxx

MrsTD88 · 25/03/2021 10:06

Fantastic news @marplemead so happy for you and what a relief you don't have much longer on the meds!

Garman · 25/03/2021 10:13

Great news @marplemead 🎉

Smurf123 · 25/03/2021 10:26

Brilliant news @marplemead

marplemead · 25/03/2021 10:37

Thanks ladies! It's almost starting to feel like a normal pregnancy. We've told DD, and she's super excited. She keeps telling me that me being sick means the baby is doing well. The things 4 year olds say!

@Cafeaulait27 I think I've been told to take aspirin from 12wks, because DD was under 6lbs when she was born and I'm over 35. I'm going to have extra growth scans at 16wks and a few after 20wks up until my due date. So I don't think it's do with my history of MCs - will check next time. The first appointment when she explained it all was a bit of a blur.

I've just realised that I have to take the Cyclizine 3xday, and it can make you tired. I have enough of that with the progesterone, I don't think I can take any more. I might try it for a week and see if it helps.

vitaminb33 · 25/03/2021 11:10

Amazing congratulations @marplemead! ❤️🎉

MrsTD88 · 25/03/2021 11:28

How lovely @marplemead our daughter is 4 too and cannot wait to tell her tonight 😍
