@imisscoffee I meant to say I'm not craving salt this time 🙈 I'm wanting hairbo tangfastics which are sugary lol

Maybe you’ll come round to decaf coffee again @imisscoffee ! I bought loads of boxes of decaf pods for my machine and then for the last few weeks just haven’t been fussed at all. The only coffee I’ve really had is a takeaway decaf, and even then I think it’s just a novelty rather than wanting it. I’ve made 2 decaf coffees this week tho! So not sure if it’s me coming back around or what it is. I don’t like tea at all so always loved my coffee in the morning.
Now that I’m thinking about it, I was having a hot chocolate every night up until I was 5 weeks or so, and I haven’t had one since 🤔 think I prefer to eat my chocolate rather than drink it, but I’m sad because it was the good stuff from hotel chocolat!

Bellabubble · 23/03/2021 20:45

@PumpkinEverything I used to work for a chocolate company, and am a biiiig chocoholic - but have been right off it :( sad times!! Is it the chocolate you melt down or a powder hot choc? Actual chocolate woth no added fruit/biscuit/sweets etc will last for years (they just have to put a sell by date on by law) so even if your off it for the whole pregnancy, you might be able to enjoy it again after :)

PumpkinEverything · 23/03/2021 21:32

Aw that’s so sad @Bellabubble ! I almost wish I was off it but I think about it all the time 😂 and we have so much in our house as we both have always loved it. It’s shaved chocolate, but with flavours like salted caramel, mint etc. It comes in individual sachets so they’re only opened once being used so hoping it’s fine? It’s annoying because once the weather gets warmer I usually don’t drink it as much anyway so was hoping to get through my boxes before that happens, when actually they’ve all sat untouched 🙈

JRH4622 · 23/03/2021 21:56

@PumpkinEverything I have the same machine from HC...its dreamy!

PumpkinEverything · 23/03/2021 22:20

I love it @JRH4622 ! My husband got me it for Christmas and I ordered myself the taster box so I could try all the different flavours to see which ones I liked.

JRH4622 · 23/03/2021 22:31

@PumpkinEverything yes same...Best Xmas present! I got a box of all the dark ones!! Soo good! X

vitaminb33 · 23/03/2021 22:54

@lamby12 it's a relief to see other people have had chills! I felt like I was going mad. I've definitely also had the increased discharge, it's especially annoying because I'm always convinced I've started bleeding.

@Pancakes7 yeah I think last time I was really resistant to crutches or a wheelchair and I'm not entirely sure why. I think if it gets to that point I'd definitely rather be able to get out (especially if the pandemic restrictions are easing up)!

I'm usually not into sweet things but with my son I just craved chocolate the entire time. Haven't had any cravings yet, just been eating pretty plain food.

lamby12 · 24/03/2021 07:16

@Pancakes7 and @vitaminb33 you guys have been getting cold too I'm glad it's not just me! DH thinks I'm being dramatic when I spent an hours under a blanket yesterday. But then every evening I spend all evening trying to get warm then at bedtime when I start moving about to get ready for bed I'm suddenly SO hot! Weird.

I certainly started to feel a bit more pregnancy symptoms that I remember with DD yesterday - nausea, thinking about food a lot, certain things turning my stomach other things I had to have! And waking up feeling like I'm hungover the last couple of mornings. I'm still too cautious to get excited though. We're so close to Fridays early scan (6 weeks) and I really didn't expect we'd get there. Every time I feel a bit 'wet' which is happening more now I think oh that must be blood and rush to check.

Eeeeek I really want to get to Friday. X

JRH4622 · 24/03/2021 07:52

@lamby12 bring on Friday! We are rooting for you!! ❤

HereWeGoooo · 24/03/2021 10:49

Hi ladies, just checking in. I hope you're all feeling okay? Time is beginning to tick on at last!

Had my booking (phone call) appointment on Monday there, which was a nice milestone I've never reached before. Was surprised at some of the questions they ask, and the detail - but that can only be a good thing.

I read that in week 9 you're likely to feel your worst with hormones peaking, but I've actually felt a lot better (hope this isn't something to worry about??!) I've not felt so nauseous / smells aren't bothering me quite as much and beginning to enjoy a little bit of food again. Hallelujah.

Next up is my blood/urine sample appointment next Fri - if my appointment is at 10am, should I just use first urine of the day? For some reason, I feel it's embarrassing to pass over a more concentrated pee! Still need to find a suitable container to take.

The discharge is annoying, and kind of makes me feel a little ill too?! Does anyone else feel that way? I dont know if I'm just feeling squeamish being out of control of my body for the first time.

marplemead · 24/03/2021 11:05

@lamby12 not long until your scan. Your symptoms sound like mine - I think about food l a lot, but there isn't much I fancy. But when I do get a craving, I can't rest until I have it.

@Garman I'm also struggling with the constant nausea and indigestion. My GP prescribed Cyclizine just in case, and I'm very close to starting them. My consultant said that I am better off starting them sooner rather than later, so I don't know why I'm holding off.

I had a massive cry this morning about my sickness and DH was lovely. He has been great in terms of taking on the bulk of looking after DD etc, but isn't so good at reassuring me emotionally. I explained that I was really struggling, and that I needed more sympathy rather than well-meaning suggestions like 'go for a walk' when I have zero energy.

I have a scan tomorrow with my consultant - I'll be 10+3. I also have my dating scan next Wed, so did consider cancelling the one tomorrow, but I really need the reassurance.

Greenrubber · 24/03/2021 11:06

@HereWeGoooo

I was feeling better at 9 weeks also but when I had my dating scan I was a week ahead which surprised me as I was keeping track of everything!
So maybe your a little ahead of what you think
Smile

marplemead · 24/03/2021 13:41

@HereWeGoooo my symptoms eased at 9wks, which had me worried, but they came back a week later with a vegeance. Enjoy it!
And I wouldn't worry about using FMU for your sample. I don't think midwives are bothered about things like that. Do you have a spice glass jar? Or something like that?

Garman · 24/03/2021 14:58

You can get sample pots from chemists cant you?

Dragged myself out of migraine, nausea and exhausted fuzz to pick up progesterone prescription. Omg the cost of it! €130 for 4 weeks and I'm on it for 8 weeks. Seriously hoping the 10 week scan shows enough improvement to not need the second month of it!

marplemead · 24/03/2021 15:07

@Garman Wow! That's really expensive. I'm so grateful that we get it free in England. 🤞🏼 you won't need it after 4 weeks.

Garman · 24/03/2021 15:11

You get it free 😮 That is so unfair, not impressed with this today at all.

Just reading about the side effects of it, has anyone that's been on it experienced any of them? They sound terrible, bloating and depression among other things are not what I need added to my life right now! 😔

I'm absolutely starving but if I eat I get nauseous immediately, for today it's easier to just have a few tiny meals and not feel like death.

Garman · 24/03/2021 15:17

Just rang to get appointment for booking in with gp as I had to cancel the last one due to covid stuff, can't see them until April and can't even speak to gp until next week to beg for nausea prescription over the phone. These few months are really testing me!

marplemead · 24/03/2021 15:22

@Garman I'm sorry, that is really unfair.
Is it Cyclogest? I've experienced sleepiness/ tiredness, which I'm sure is the progesterone rather than pregnancy. I'm finding I need to lie down soon after inserting, and it is difficult to stay awake. I can't wait to stop taking them.

Garman · 24/03/2021 15:25

@marplemead yes it's cyclogest. Not really too conducive with normal life are they, needing to take them twice a day, lie down for that long and get sleepy?! No medication usually makes me sleepy even if stated that it does so hopefully it'll be the same with this, not quite sure how I'll manage it otherwise with 2 dc to look after.

MrsTD88 · 24/03/2021 16:31

Hey ladies, I feel like I've been AWOL for a while and missed so much on here. I had to take a little time out as I was becoming all consumed with my dating scan which was this morning.

Welcome to all the newbies. I hope everything is smooth sailing for you all.

So sorry some of you are feeling rubbish. I think I'm turning a corner some days and then it hits me again. I hope you all feel better real soon. Who has scans this coming week/next week?

MrsTD88 · 24/03/2021 16:37

I forgot to say I'm measuring at 13+2 and due date is 27 September!

JRH4622 · 24/03/2021 16:37

@Garman @marplemead I'm on Cyclogest too...miserable stuff, makes me super grumpy...my DH refers to me as the "progesterone monster"! It just boosts all the symptoms that you would naturally get with progesterone...its like x10!
Its even more rubbish that you have to pay for it!
I haven't been told by the consultant when to stop taking it so its like this for the foreseeable for me!

JRH4622 · 24/03/2021 16:40

@MrsTD88 brilliant news!! So pleased for you!!

HereWeGoooo · 24/03/2021 16:50

@MrsTD88 Aww your baby looks so cute already! Congrats on getting through the first trimester safely :) I've got 2 more weeks to wait until my 12 week scan.....
