@PumpkinEverything Thank you! Normally is the calm one but I think all the disappointment has really affected him! I'm just going to hold out and wait for my dating scan and if I feel brave enough I might have an early one xx

Firevie · 22/03/2021 15:01

@Bellabubble I’m glad everything went well today
I just got a cal from the nhs - they’ve had a cancellation so are pushing me in for my booking appointment at 2pm tmr. This will be my first pne fave to face as the last one was just over the phone. I feel there will be so many blood tests the next three weeks - tmr for the booking appointment, next Tuesday for the harmony test and on 4 April for the nhs nuchal scan. Hope you’re all doing well xx

Pancakes7 · 22/03/2021 15:23

@JRH4622 The only thing I would consider is that at the moment most areas and definitely hear NHS scans you have to go alone. So just have a think if things aren't good will you be okay on your own to find out. Sorry I just felt I should mention it in case you weren't aware or hadn't thought about it. Although I'm sure everything will be fine.

@Firevie that's good you've got your booking appointment sorted finally. At least you'll get all the blood test out of the way LOL.

Firevie · 22/03/2021 15:46

@Pancakes7 haha that’s true..hope you’re okay. Excited to get a mummy notebook. Lol xxx

Pancakes7 · 22/03/2021 15:50

@Firevie It's changed here and I don't get my notes till my dating scan and I collect them from the hospital. We used to get them from the gp surgery.

@Pancakes7 My DH has only been to our private scan, I had MCs alone (not through choice)...I had my D&C in Aug alone and the nurse took me out to the car park so my DH could pick me up, felt inhumane! I think I would be as worried alone as I would be with him! Its amazing what we can go through and still be sane! I just have this imagine in my head of our dating scan going well and anything outside that imagine scares me!

JRH4622 · 22/03/2021 16:16

@Firevie You won't have any blood left after all those test! I hope they all go well.
Have the IONA test (similar to the Harmony) on the 16th April! It also tells the sex! Eek!

Pancakes7 · 22/03/2021 16:27

@JRH4622 Ok sure, yeah I had an mmc last year too, Did most alone but luckily the op was in a private hospital due to covid so DH could come with me. I'm sorry you had to go through that. If that's your positive image than that's great. Keep that going. ❤️

JRH4622 · 22/03/2021 16:38

@Pancakes7 Thank you, sorry you had to go through it too...bloody miserable! We just have to be kind to ourselves! Smile

Firevie · 22/03/2021 17:46

@JRH4622 haha so true! Is the IONIA test private too? Exciting to be progressing to the next steps whilst obv still nerve wracking. I’ve found myself fast forwarding taking a peak look at maternity clothes and pregnancy announcements et eek. Xx

JRH4622 · 22/03/2021 17:51

@Firevie Yes but its actually subsidised...still £300! Lol
Lol baby clothes, maternity clothes...my mentality is "act as if" although I haven't bought anything Lol...its fun looking!

Firevie · 22/03/2021 20:18

Thought I had the healthiest dinner ever (grilled sea bass, asparagus and brussel sprouts) and then I find out you shouldn’t really eat sea bass when pregnant 🧐 Ovia app says no whereas google research says it’s ok if no more than 140g a week. Well that’s told me, I shall not eat any fish now other than salmon or cod. Stuffed my fave with grapes and milk after to make myself feel better lol xxx

Pancakes7 · 22/03/2021 20:54

@Firevie I'm sure you're fine. I only go by nhs tbh. Here's the link and it doesn't mention sea bass.

@Firevie it does say to limit your oily fish though including salmon. Worth a read

Oh dear I've definitely had a hormonal/emotional day. DS was super emotional today. Getting upset over little things. He's getting more like that recently as he gets closer to 2 🙈 I've had a good cry this evening as it all got on top of me a bit.

The stress of that along with going back to work soon. Waiting for my scan. Anxious to tell my work. I feel like everything just came out in a little meltdown 😭 I'm hoping tomorrow is a better day.

JRH4622 · 22/03/2021 21:10

@pancakes7 oh lovely, this is all normal...you will have great days and really shit ones!! Time will fly til our scans! Your work will deal with your news...you are allowed to have this baby...its not your fault that there was a global pandemic and they put you on furlough! Xx

Garman · 22/03/2021 21:11

@Pancakes7 I hope you're feeling better after your cry, I need a good cry with weeks but I just can't get there!

Thank you for all your support in the torturous wait for my scan. Very shocked to see a foetus measuring 8 weeks exactly with a strong heartbeat. There's a haemorrhage beside the baby's sac in the womb, it seems to be an old one and is healing in parts. This is basically the best outcome I had envisioned for there being an actual baby in there, from the type of bleeding I've been having for the last 2 weeks it seemed some bit likely, if it wasn't a miscarriage.

I'm back in 2 weeks for another scan to check it, and on progesterone until about 16 weeks.

@JRH4622 Thanks ❤️ It's just been one of those days. I'm off to bed now. Hopefully a better day tomorrow x

Pancakes7 · 22/03/2021 21:14

@Garman Aww wonderful news!!! ❤️ I'm so glad little baby is growing away. It just shows you never know what they're up to. Is the progesterone to help with the haemorrhage? Good you've got another scan lined up.

OP posts:
marplemead · 22/03/2021 21:16

@Garman that's great news! And finally an explanation for the bleeding. Are you starting the progesterone now or have you been on it from the start?

Garman · 22/03/2021 21:17

Thank you, I don't really know what the progesterone does! I haven't googled anything yet, exhausted after nearly 3 hours in epu for the scan and waiting for the doctor to come speak to me, still shocked and just finished baths, bedtime, etc!

They said if they placenta appears to be taking over well at 16 weeks they stop it, in 80% of cases this causes no problems but in 15-20% of cases it does, so they will just keep an eye on it for now.

Garman · 22/03/2021 21:18

@marplemead thanks, no they gave me the prescription today, I hadn't seen anyone through this pregnancy until now.

PumpkinEverything · 22/03/2021 21:25

Fantastic @Garman so so happy it’s been good news for you 😊 I’d been waiting for your update this evening. I think I remember you hadn’t wanted to tell your husband at the beginning, does he know now or are you still holding off?

PumpkinEverything · 22/03/2021 21:26

Sorry you’re not having a good day @Pancakes7 hopefully tomorrow is a bit better. The wait just seems to go so slow doesn’t it 😔
