@Pancakes7 yep that’s right - it’s 450-475 I’ve been told. So much money. I want to have all the info though so I’ve decided to go with it. It’s coming out of my baby savings jar haha xxx

Greenrubber · 19/03/2021 20:24

It was £400 for mine! I need the test for reassurance as I'm 40 lol

Pancakes7 · 19/03/2021 20:25

Sorry I just never realised how expensive they are. I'm just having the nhs free one

Pancakes7 · 19/03/2021 21:17

Anyone else feeling rough? I had jacket potato with beans and cheese. But just before I finished my tummy hurt and I've had a really upset tummy since and feel so sick. I was really enjoying it. I thought a dinner would be good but maybe it was too much.

OP posts:
Greenrubber · 19/03/2021 21:22

@Pancakes7
Yeah they are bloody expensive! I never got my NHS results back until I was over 19 weeks with my first

vitaminb33 · 19/03/2021 21:29

@Pancakes7 yeah I'm feeling pretty rough too, made a dinner I thought was appetising and only managed to eat less than half of it (and been laid out on the sofa since then).

KG1145 · 19/03/2021 21:29

I had no idea how expensive they were but then had never looked tbh.

How far along are you all?

PumpkinEverything · 19/03/2021 21:40

I don’t think I’m going to go for the harmony test, I’d love to but just seems like so much money 😳

@Firevie I feel like I need to reign it in as well. I feel like my diet is so so poor right now and I need to sort myself out. I just feel like I’m still struggling to expand my food choices 🤦‍♀️ I’ve been completely fine with fruit which is good. Do you think it’s okay to eat as much fruit as we want or should we be watching the sugar content? 🤔

I’m 10+4 @KG1145 😊

Greenrubber · 19/03/2021 22:03

@KG1145
I'm 14+2

MrsTD88 · 19/03/2021 22:11

@KG1145 I'm 12+5 (ish) dating scan is on Wednesday.

@Pancakes7 it's crap going back isn't it, you get so used to your little routine at home and you have had such a long time together. We will all be here to hand hold when you go back.

I hated my job I was in when I had my daughter. I actually applied for new jobs on mat leave. I went back to work, handed in my notice and started somewhere new when she was only 9 months. All that time off made me realise how much I was dreading going back to a place I hated. The place I am now is much more family oriented and don't make me feel bad for taking time off when she is sick. Speaking of which she has tonsillitis just now so I done barely any work from home today and they told me it's fine and to finish early. My old work would have wanted me to make the time back!!

Pancakes7 · 20/03/2021 06:12

@Greenrubber Wow I've never heard of the letter taking that long before! Mine came within the week.

@KG1145 I'm 8 weeks +5

@vitaminb33 it's annoying isn't it when you look forward to your dinner then feel rubbish. I went to bed in the end as I felt so bad.

@MrsTD88 Yeah my work are really lovely. Very understanding. I worked at a horrible place before there. Where there was bullying and the management were immature. I'm so glad I moved jobs. But I changed jobs a while back. I think I've been there 5 years now. Two of which I've been off I suppose. But the fact that kept me and found me a job to do part time is really kind of them. That's why I feel awkward to then say I'm pregnant 🙈 but I'm not looking forward to going back only because I enjoy being off with my son so much. But with being pregnant I might enjoy the break at work lol

Greenrubber · 20/03/2021 07:39

@Pancakes7
Yeah it took so long but I had ended up getting the harmony anyway so it didn't matter

Smurf123 · 20/03/2021 08:49

@KG1145 im 20w +2

@Pancakes7 must have been something in the air last night I also felt pretty rubbish and despite having a boojum cook at home meal kit which I was really looking forward to ended up not making any dinner. Stole a couple of chicken munchies but was more making myself eat them..

I thought I was starting to feel some movement a couple days ago but haven't felt anything the last 2 days now.. 9 days to next scan!

Ds age 3 has been waking at 530 each morning.. Makes for a tiring day when you add it to pregnancy tiredness too..

Pancakes7 · 20/03/2021 08:57

@Smurf123 have you had your 20 week scan yet? Do you know the gender? Or are you not finding out. I can't wait till I'm further along like you and it's not a secret anymore and I can enjoy it. Movements are exciting!

OP posts:
Smurf123 · 20/03/2021 09:09

20 week scan isn't until the 29th
We have a good idea of gender from 17 week scan but will hopefully get it confirmed at next one...
I am hoping everything's OK and I get to feel proper movement soon.. Hoping it might help me relax slightly about everything being ok 🙈

Pancakes7 · 20/03/2021 09:35

@Smurf123 Aw the extra wait to find out. I bet you can't wait! We're going to do a private 16 week scan so DH can be there

OP posts:
marplemead · 20/03/2021 09:36

@KG1145
I'm 9+5

@Pancakes7 It's always hard going back to work, but it's amazing how quickly it becomes the new norm. Your work sound supportive, which is great. Women often have two mat leaves close to each other, so I can't imagine your work will be very surprised. And actually, I think it's easier for them anyway, because they will know how to cover you. I don't want to go back to my current workplace, so will be moving jobs when I go back.

@PumpkinEverything I'm not eating a very varied diet either. But I think that's quite normal in the first trimester. I remember living on a diet of McDonald's when I was pregnant with DD, but my diet improved by the 2nd trimester when I started feeling less sick. I didn't have any issues with GD and DD was healthy.

PumpkinEverything · 20/03/2021 10:58

Thanks @marplemead ! I just feel like I’ve went completely off the rails with my eating as I normally try quite hard to be as healthy as I can and only get takeaway one day a week (compared to sometimes 2-3 these days) and I watch my calorie intake.

vitaminb33 · 20/03/2021 12:13

@KG1145 my best guess is 6+6 today

Just over a week until my first scan and the dread about it has really washed over me. I was hoping this wouldn't happen so soon! Hopefully I'll be able to keep my mind off of it somehow

Firevie · 20/03/2021 13:03

Totally share the healthy / non healthy dilemma. Glad I’m not alone. But need to get back on track. Have just done a huge ocado order which will arrive tmr so that’s when l get back on the healthy bandwagon. Have decided porridge / eggs for breakfast, salads for lunch and then something warm for dinner. No chocolate in that order. Let’s see xxx

lamby12 · 20/03/2021 13:14

Hi just wondering if I can join this thread, I'm just over 5 weeks pregnant after 2 miscarriages last year, the most recent at Christmas.

I had lots of fertility investigations privately over last year and I was diagnosed with premature ovarian failure (I'm 30) and basically haywire hormones. Advised to do ivf ASAP. Just in the planning for ivf phase and I have found out I'm pregnant again. Over the last couple of weeks we've kept all our ivf appointments in because it's so early and I'm so anxious about miscarriage I couldn't drop 'the plan' just yet. We've gone as far as we can with ivf planning - the consultant is ready, my tests are done, we have a finance plan ready to agree... so all to do now is to hope we don't need it!

I'm feeling very nervous as it's feels like this is the last shot before ivf which is obviously a huge financial, physical, emotional process. I feel like we've been given one last chance.

Trying to keep my mind of pregnancy as much as possible because I can't get too invested in this just yet - the miscarriage at Christmas really broke me.

This is #2 for us, my due date would be mid Nov if it works out. Got a private scan booked on Friday so everything crossed we get to that.

No symptoms yet other than very very bad cramps in ana evening.

Just reading though the thread - good luck to everyone. X

imisscoffee · 20/03/2021 16:58

Welcome @lamby12! Fingers crossed everything goes well for you and your IVF fund can change into a new baby fund 😊

-may be jinxing it- but after weeks of feeling rough, I've woken up today feeling like an actual human! I'm 10+1. Nearly cried with happiness this morning because I've felt rough for so long. Managed to eat an actual meal and have been gardening in the sunshine. Still a little uncomfortable from the UTI but aside from that things seem to be picking up. We're meeting my SIL's baby tonight (from a distance 😭) and telling them our news. Exciting!!!

Greenrubber · 20/03/2021 17:26

Hit my harmony results back today and everything is fine and I'm having a girl! So excited now I can actually relax

Pancakes7 · 20/03/2021 17:27

@lamby12 Welcome and I'm sorry for your losses. Congratulations on your BFP. I hope this little bean sticks for you and you can save good ivf money for baby bits.

@imisscoffee I'm glad you're feeling better now. I hope the uti clears up soon. Gardening in the sunshine sounds lovely.

I'm currently in bed feeling rough. Feel so sick and tired. DH had to work today but as soon as he got home I went for a nap. I bought bits for Nachos earlier as I was craving them. I hope I can manage them later.
