@Pancakes7 yes exactly! And it was such a drama having to get in and out of the car and strapping it all on again 😬

Pancakes7 · 18/03/2021 20:16

@vitaminb33 Aww thank you. The wedding couple in this we used on our wedding cake.

Thanks for the welcome. Also thanks for the reassurance @vitaminb33! I think I'm likely to the same and if its not stressing over one thing it'll be another.

I think I'm going to book a test for around 7 weeks. I've told a couple of close friends, one who struggled to conceive herself a few years ago so has been a huge support while we were struggling and the other is my best friend. She initially started trying for a baby after I told her we were expecting so we could have our mat leaves together. I sadly had a MMC and she's 8 months now. It's been hard but I know she's been worried about me so I shared the positive news.
I think we'll tell family after 12 week scan and announce more widely about 20 weeks. We did with my son but that was more to wanting to do a cute announcement and being disorganised 😂

KG1145 · 18/03/2021 20:18

Really cute announcement! @pancake7

Pancakes7 · 18/03/2021 20:35

@KG1145 Aww thank you. We wanted to do something different. I am in a similar situation. I've told my close friend who started trying around the time of my mmc and got pregnant quickly. She's due next month. In my NCT group it's her and 2 others all due imminently. 1 just had her baby. I'm just relieved I'm pregnant before they all have their babies. I found it very difficult accepting them all having successful pregnancies and me stuck. My EDD was February and it took us 6 months after the mmc to conceive.

I'm really wishing the weeks would hurry up tonight. I just want to have that scan and feel more reassured. I am feeling positive from my scan as I'm measuring ahead with a strong heartbeat. But that horrible voice creeps in... what if... trying to ignore it!!

Welcome @KG1145 😊

@MrsTD88 @Bellabubble I love so many Irish names, but I live in Northern Ireland and lm not 100% sure on whether I’d feel too safe with my child having an Irish name in the area we live. It’s horrible that we even have to think like that 😔

Not too sure on the social media announcement either. I think I’ll wait until 20 weeks for that (all being well) but I’d like to tell close family and friends after our 12 week scan (which I finally got my letter for and is in 13 days!) as we would tell them either way. Not sure how to tell those people tho as I’m sad we can’t see people in person really! I know once we tell my MIL we’ll need to tell the rest of his family sharpish before she does it for us 😂😂

JRH4622 · 18/03/2021 20:48

@Pancakes7 what a lovely announcement!
I want the weeks to fly too! Im having my first scan in a month (I'm 7+2) feels like a lifetime away but I know it will fly! Xx

PumpkinEverything · 18/03/2021 20:49

Feeling the same @Pancakes7 ! Now that I’ve got my scan letter I can feel my mind wandering thinking about telling my siblings and when and how I’d do it, and then when will I tell work, and what do we need to do and buy in the house etc etc 🤯 but then there’s a voice in my head that’s panicking thinking that I’m getting too attached and thinking too much and what if it’d wrong. I also know I’m being ridiculous here, but last time I had a few days booked off work as were planning on decorating for Christmas and wanted to enjoy a few days off, and I ended up spending it just crying for days. I’m off again this time round too because of needing to use leave + Easter, and I’m scared because the situations are similar that I’m going to get bad news again 😔😔

Pancakes7 · 18/03/2021 20:53

@JRH4622 I hope it goes quickly for you. Is that your nhs dating scan?

OP posts:
KG1145 · 18/03/2021 21:00

Does sound a similar situation @pancakes7 my EDD was 15 March so just past. It took us a lot longer to conceive this time but I got my positive on 11th March and was so relieved to have something positive to focus on

JRH4622 · 18/03/2021 21:03

@PumpkinEverything I know that feeling of not wanting to get attached but if we are honest it wouldn't hurt less if something went wrong! Maybe stupidly I have put my Rose tinted glasses on and trying to enjoy this time!
@Pancakes7 yeah its my dating scan...im determined not to have an early scan because I get soo stressed out about scans..after 3 MCs I guess that's normal...ive actually never had a good one! If something feels wrong then I will book an early one but apart from that I'm holding out! When I your dating scan? I know we are similar!

Pancakes7 · 18/03/2021 21:08

@PumpkinEverything Don't worry everything will be fine I'm sure. But I'm glad it's not just me who has the worries. Exciting yours is in 13 days. 25 days till mine. Or just over 3 weeks sounds better! lol. I know what you mean about planning how you'd tell people. I'm a bit worried to tell work after being off for 2 years. I worry they'll be annoyed but tbh not much they can say. I'm excited to tell my brother and sister in law and my friends.

OP posts:
Pancakes7 · 18/03/2021 21:11

@JRH4622 I'm 8 weeks +3 and my dating scan is 13th April. I'll be 12 weeks +1. Going by my early scan I'll actually be 12 weeks +3.

OP posts:
JRH4622 · 18/03/2021 21:13

@Pancakes7 stuff work, they will understand and be really pleased for you!
I run a business with my sister so I had to tell her early because the tiredness wiped me out and after everything I knew I needed her!

Pancakes7 · 18/03/2021 21:14

@KG1145 It's so hard isn't it. After each announcement I cried. But I'm feeling positive now I'm pregnant again. It's our turn 💗

OP posts:
JRH4622 · 18/03/2021 21:14

@Pancakes7 amazing...we will have the scan in the same week but im a week behind!!

Pancakes7 · 18/03/2021 21:16

@JRH4622 What day is your scan?

OP posts:
JRH4622 · 18/03/2021 21:23

@Pancakes7 eek the consultant just said it would be 11+2 or 3! Trying to keep my head its so far away!

Pancakes7 · 18/03/2021 21:47

@JRH4622 Oh ok, I hope you find out the date soon. Are you under a consultant then is that private?

OP posts:
JRH4622 · 18/03/2021 22:05

@Pancakes7 no nhs...many losses and under the consultant for nearly two years, im on blood thinners etc so it's all consultant lead! I try and think of it as special treatment so it doesn't scare me!

Pancakes7 · 18/03/2021 22:10

@JRH4622 oh ofcourse sorry I did know that. My brain atm lol. Definitely baby brain going on here. Good you're going extra help by the consultant.

OP posts:
JRH4622 · 18/03/2021 22:15

@Pancakes7 my brain is rubbish too! I think it "the tiredness" is most of the problem!

Pancakes7 · 18/03/2021 22:23

@JRH4622 Definitely. I feel exhausted and sick. In bed now. This is the latest I've been up in ages lol.

OP posts:
JRH4622 · 18/03/2021 22:29

@Pancakes7 me too...in bed sucking ice cubes! Sleep time for me...its a struggle some nights because I'm so hot!! But window is open so I'm going for it! Xx
