@vitaminb33 I'm glad the cramps have gone away, and hope they don't return. Do call the hospital for reassurance if you need to - you don't have to go for a scan if they offer it.

MrsTD88 · 16/03/2021 19:12

@PrettyPinkPansies congratulations on your positive. I didn't get a 3+ until roughly 6+2 (it was 2-3 only 3 days before) and so far so good. I'm over 12 weeks now and had a positive scan at 10+4. Try to leave it a few days and try again. Save your pennies for a private scan which is much more reassuring.

Congratulations to you too @dippyegg32

@vitaminb33 could it be your uterus stretching? I get bouts of cramping/stretching every few days at the moment.

PrettyPinkPansies · 16/03/2021 19:15

@MrsTD88 thank you for the reassurance! I hope I get one before then, I think I'd drive myself mad with it!

@dippyegg32 congratulations!! X

vitaminb33 · 16/03/2021 19:27

@marplemead thank you, you're right, I'm just worried if they offered it I would accept it and then panic!

@MrsTD88 yes probably - I had a lot of cramping early on but it's been better this last week. I think I freaked out because it was repetitive cramping, but now it's gone I feel a bit silly. 🤷‍♀️

imisscoffee · 16/03/2021 19:30

Hi @PrettyPinkPansies and hello again @dippyegg32, lovely to see you back.

@Bellabubble I'm the same, there's tons of lovely names I'll never use because they belong to children I've worked with. We've decided on names but DH really wanted a specific girls middle name as it is a place that's meaningful for us as well as being a lovely name. Only problem is, it's my deputy head's name and it'll always be her name to me. We're finally in agreement though!

Pancakes7 · 17/03/2021 08:48

Welcome back @dippyegg32 !! Amazing you've got a positive again so quickly! Congratulations. It's good you've had your negative so you can trust this positive. No need to register yet. Maybe wait till 6 weeks if you are not ready now. How are you feeling? I'm sure it's an anxious time.

@Bellabubble & @imisscoffee That's hard when you work with kids. You'll hear all the names. We have a girl name we love but my uni friend used it. We have wanted the name for years though so we might still use it anyway. 3 of the NCT mums are having girls as their second. All due imminently. So hoping they don't use any of our other names on our list! But tbh I think it'll be another boy. We have a list of boy names we didn't use for our son. Dh thinks it'll be a girl. I can't wait for 16 weeks to find out!! Only 8 weeks to go!

I got my 3+ this morning 🥳🥳 I will be quitting the tests now!! Hope everyone is okay x

Pancakes7 · 17/03/2021 09:29

@PrettyPinkPansies Aw brilliant!! Definitely good to stop the tests now.

marplemead · 17/03/2021 09:33

@PrettyPinkPansies Yay! It's always a relief when you get the 3+.

We had picked out the name for DD years before we conceived her, so that was easy. I can't think of a single name we like this time. And like @Bellabubble and @imisscoffee, there are lovely names I can't use because of the children I've taught with them.

I had my midwife appointment yesterday and got my maternity book. It is starting to feel like this is happening. I have another scan next Thursday when I will be 10+3. My nausea is much better today, so naturally I've started to worry there is something wrong. Thank you to whoever recommended Schitt's Creek - it's been a great distraction this week.

Pancakes7 · 17/03/2021 09:49

@marplemead I've got my bloods appointment today. But my midwife said I collect my notes from the hospital now. So I don't think I'll get them till my dating scan.

Had my private scan last night and baby is well, doing a headstand and measuring 8w5d today. So hard to get head around fact that's happening inside. Could see clear heart flicker, round head, arm and leg buds, and spine. Got some nice wee video clips too. Grin Time to try to chill out now!!

@HereWeGoooo yay!! So pleased for you! Amazing scan pics 🥰 didn’t realise you had a scan last night - kept that one stumm or I just forgot lol
I have had to put on my Aladdin trousers as my yoga pants are too tight. Xxx

vitaminb33 · 17/03/2021 11:01

Oh amazing congrats @HereWeGoooo! Wonderful news 🎉🎊

And that's also great news @PrettyPinkPansies! It's definitely reassuring 😊

Greenrubber · 17/03/2021 11:53

@HereWeGoooo
Congratulations!
Hopefully you can relax now but you know you probably won't lol

I have my NHS scan today as I finally got it sorted don't suppose I need it now after my private one but hey any excuse to see them Grin

HereWeGoooo · 17/03/2021 12:02

Thanks guys, I was keeping it a little quiet, as originally I was all "I'll just wait the 12 weeks" haha! A little scared to even write about it now, in case I jinx anything. They look like little jelly babies in there!
I guess the worry never stops; when you get some confirmation everything is okay, and as the pregnancy continues, I'm going to start panicking about actually being a mum and if I'm going to be able to handle it!! But still quite some time to get organised... one day at a time!

marplemead · 17/03/2021 13:14

Great news @HereWeGoooo! I hope you are able to relax a little.

MrsTD88 · 17/03/2021 13:48

@HereWeGooo amazing news, what a relief!

Firevie · 17/03/2021 14:38

I just got a text from the nhs - they’ve booked me in for a nuchal scan on 9 April. Is that the same as the dating scan? But then the text says the midwife will be in touch in 8-10weeks Re a booking appointment?! In 10weeks I’ll be 19 weeks!!! Surely that can’t be the first time I speak with my midwife?! Xxx

HereWeGoooo · 17/03/2021 14:44

Your booking appointment has to be before 10w because they need to do tests before you reach 10w. But maybe if they are offering you the testing first, the chat with midwife can be later on? @Firevie

Firevie · 17/03/2021 14:48

@HereWeGoooo thanks. Which tests? The blood test and nuchal test? Guess I’ll get the nuchal test on 9 April and I’ve had my bloods done in week 4 privately. And I’ll get harmony done on 30 March privately. It’s just odd that I won’t get to speak to the midwife beforehand?! I’ll give them a call shortly to ask xxx

imisscoffee · 17/03/2021 14:51

Lovely scan pictures @HereWeGoooo!

@Firevie I'd give them a ring, that does seem strange. My next midwife appointment is 16 weeks and it'll be face to face because I'm rhesus negative so need anti-d/baby's blood testing. Maybe there's been an error and the message means the midwife will be in touch to book your next appointment, and they haven't realised you haven't had your first? How do they know which hospital you wish to deliver at, your BMI, bloods, medical history etc if they don't speak to you until then?!

Firevie · 17/03/2021 14:56

@imisscoffee exactly.
Totally agree. Also strange that I’d get my nuchal scan but not yet having spoken to my midwife? Maybe they mean 8-10 days and not weeks! SIGH! Just glad I’ve had all my private stuff done in meantime otherwise I’d be going crazy waiting for nhs xxx

Firevie · 17/03/2021 15:11

All clarified - text was misleading. They meant the midwife will be in touch between 8-10 weeks of my pregnancy. So, I guess sometime this or next week. Ah would make it so much easier if the texts were clearer haha xxx

imisscoffee · 17/03/2021 15:11

Sorry cross post! I've never heard of anyone having their scan before booking in appt. Glad you've had your private bloods to put your mind at ease.

Urghh I've had a terrible cold and a UTI this week, had to take some time off work which I feel guilty about just for a cold, but it's really wipes me out. The one plus side is while I've been ill, my nausea disappeared. I've actually managed to get vegetable soup! Today I'm feeling a bit better, and sick as a dog again. FFS! Have swapped the healthy soup for 2 cola ice lollies for lunch 🤢
