@PumpkinEverything I know you said you were on a Facebook group. Can I ask, how are you finding it? I'm wondering if I'm ready to join it now.

Morning ladies! Hope you’re all doing well. Who on here wants to find out the baby’s gender? I’m such a curious cat and don’t think I’d be able to not know for 9months:) xxx

marplemead · 16/03/2021 09:58

Good morning @Firevie. We found out the sex with DD, and that was the right decision for us. We chose her name after the scan, and it helped us to bond with her before she arrived. We will definitely find out again. I know some people like the surprise at the birth, but I hate surprises.
What do you think you will do?

Firevie · 16/03/2021 10:09

@marplemead same as you. I will def find out. I don’t like surprises and I’m far too impatient ;) xxx

Strawberry08 · 16/03/2021 10:14

@Firevie will definitely have to know before! Have already considered the genetic blood test to find out earlier than 16 weeks!!

Smurf123 · 16/03/2021 10:21

We didn't find out with ds but then he got rushed to nicu after birth and they realised they hadn't told us whether he was a boy or a girl.. So this time we want to find out.. Well we are 99% sure we know what we are having after our last scan but been told they will confirm all being well at the next one 🙂

imisscoffee · 16/03/2021 10:22

@Firevie I'll be finding out, I bet it's lovely when they hand your baby to you and say "it's a boy/girl" but I like to choose their names and start bonding beforehand. I'm going to book an early gender scan I think, but not until I reach 16 weeks or so. I had one booked last time while we were in the horrible limbo days between knowing things were going wrong and waiting to be induced, and it was hard calling to cancel.

PumpkinEverything · 16/03/2021 10:23

I really like the Facebook group @Pancakes7 as I find it easier to keep on top of. I’m the admin of one of the ones I’m in so if anyone in here ever wants to join I can add them in 😊 theres also quite a few ladies who unfortunately have been through the same as us so there’s some shared anxiety in there too of people waiting for scans and the hope that everything will be okay. We did have a bit of a bad week around a week or 2 ago, which can make you feel a bit sad seeing that type of news, but I think you’ll find that no matter what group or page you’re on unfortunately.

@Firevie I absolutely could not hold off. I’m too much of a planner and need to know everything 😂 I think if I had two kids already, a boy and a girl, I’d let the third be a surprise, but not at this point!

MrsTD88 · 16/03/2021 10:23

@Firevie our daughter was a surprise... it was quite easy because our hospital won't tell you the gender. This time though we're not sure, we've decided if our daughter is keen to find out then we'll pay for a private gender scan... I'm just terrified they get it wrong 😅 I may have to have two a different places just to be sure!

Smurf123 · 16/03/2021 10:39

@PumpkinEverything can we search for the fb group or do we need to be added?

JRH4622 · 16/03/2021 10:45

@PumpkinEverything I would like to be part of the Facebook group - I cant keep up on here...its clunky and I'm always behind!
@Firevie we will be finding out, with that test at 10wks probably! I had a reading with a medium who can communicate with spirit babies (I know its not everyone's cup of tea) and he said it was a boy! Plus that it was the same spirit baby for all my MCs..he said "you have never lost anything" and was told to "Stay calm". Was amazing but also made me more curious! There is a book called Spirit Babies which I loved!

Firevie · 16/03/2021 10:54

Ooh I find it so interesting to read everyone’s views. Looks like most of us will be finding out. I think it’s lovely that you want to find out so you can choose a name and start bonding. Such a lovely thought. I’ve picked my names already so will be doing the same when I find out, I have decided to do the harmony test on 30March when I go for my next ultrasound and once we have the all clear, I will finally announce it to my friends and family :) xxx

PumpkinEverything · 16/03/2021 10:58

@Smurf123 @JRH4622 it’s hidden so no one can find it 😊 if you want added just send me a PM with the email address that’s linked to your FB account and I’ll send you the invite!

Pancakes7 · 16/03/2021 11:01

@Firevie I found out with my son at 20 weeks. This time we're going to book a private scan at 16 weeks to find out together. DH doesn't want to miss out on the moment.

Pancakes7 · 16/03/2021 11:02

@PumpkinEverything Thanks. I'm not sure if I'm ready yet or not. I might wait till I've had my 12 week scan. Thank you though.

I think we want to find out too - it being our first, I want to be prepared. I already feel so out of control of everything (my body mainly) and I hate this feeling, so finding out would give me one certain(ish) thing to know. I hope for a healthy baby, regardless of sex, but I cant imagine putting myself through this stress/ feeling this way a second time! Maybe when you have your baby it's all worth it and you forget all these feelings of worry that you had.

When I found out I was pregnant this time, I really didn't think I was, so I pictured a baby girl being my pal and just getting on with it and giving me no bother (although I feel sick/ off food most of the time now) but I had a dream about black snakes the other night, (not something I dream about ever)and apparently that symbolises a baby boy with its phallic shape haha!

PumpkinEverything · 16/03/2021 11:19

@Pancakes7 that’s understandable 😊 I found the group/thread for it before this one was that you made, otherwise I may have held off on joining as well!
I wish there was a way of knowing everything is okay just from being by yourself. I started getting a bit worried about it all again last night 🤦‍♀️ I’m off until next Monday after today so hoping I can keep myself busy and preoccupied to keep my mind off it.

Greenrubber · 16/03/2021 12:15

@Firevie
We will find out this week when the harmony test comes back! My husband says it's better to find out then he won't have to think of 2 names Smile

HereWeGoooo · 16/03/2021 12:31

Is everyone's pregnancy vitamins totally huge? Struggling to take them everyday without gagging now... Do you only take these up to 12 weeks or throughout pregnancy? Mine are seven seas ones.

vitaminb33 · 16/03/2021 12:46

I'll probably find out at the 20 week scan if all goes smoothly. I did for my first pregnancy - for me the surprise/excitement of meeting the baby when you give birth is so much anyway! So I might as well find out the sex - especially as I have a such a rough time being pregnant so it's kind of nice to have something midway.

Greenrubber · 16/03/2021 13:00

@HereWeGoooo
Mine are pregnacare gummies they go down easy! Bloody expensive tho
My asda ones aren't to bad size wise tho

PrettyPinkPansies · 16/03/2021 13:53

Hi Everyone,

Hope you don't mind me joining. I was in the TTC after miscarriage jan, feb and March threads. I've got my BFP but I am now having another panic about the weeks indicator not going up again, this is what happened with my MC and I'm panicking it's happening again. Still only showing 2-3 weeks at 21DPO, 5+2. Hope everyone else is doing okay, so nice to see some familiar faces here xx

I've attached the inside of the tests. Top one was last Thursday (my 2-3) and bottom one today

PumpkinEverything · 16/03/2021 13:58

Welcome @PrettyPinkPansies and congratulations! It’s nice to see familiar names from the other thread 😊 I’ve never taken the tests apart before so I’m not sure about that. I looked up the weeks indicator quite a bit and apparently there’s quite a big jump in HCG to go from 2-3 to 3+ so maybe just too early? I was too scared to check my weeks one until I got to 6 weeks, and I got my 3+ then. Maybe worth holding off another 5-7 days and then doing it again? Some old threads I read had people commenting about how they were pretty far on in pregnancy and never got the 3+!

PrettyPinkPansies · 16/03/2021 14:04

@PumpkinEverything thank you 😊

Yeah I have read so many threads, but ultimately I keep coming back to the fact I never got past 2-3 weeks last time and it's just really scaring me it's happening again. I rang EPU and told them what's going on and they've said they'll scan me on Friday. There is a big jump in the levels but if I haven't had a 3+ by Sunday which should be 6 weeks I think I'll have to prepare for the worst!

PumpkinEverything · 16/03/2021 14:13

That’s really good you’ve got a scan on Friday @PrettyPinkPansies 😊 not too long of a wait and hopefully they’re able to help see what’s going on
