paranoidmummy · 09/11/2007 12:08

LOL sheds!!!

Is anyone else starting to feel proper pregnant now??? if that makes sense!

Soph73 · 09/11/2007 12:16

paranoidmummy - definitely - and yes that does make sense. I´m sitting here at the moment wondering whether the caretaker would be able to cut a bump-shaped hole in my desk so I´ll be able to get near my keyboard in the coming months How exciting tlsm and good luck with everything vs

paranoidmummy · 09/11/2007 12:19

lol soph!

when is everyone planning to take mat leave? I can't wait already! Once xmas has passed i feel i'll be on the home run!!

oooooooh tlsm how exciting just read your post!!! is it your 20 wk scan??? I'm so excited about mine. nervous but excited. I feel its such a huge milestone!

TLSM · 09/11/2007 12:26

No its a 16 week scan couldnt wait any longer also had a small bleed at 13 weeks then again last weekend have a heart doppler thingy and so have heard the heart beat so know baby is ok but would like to see him/her Also my Mum and Dad are on a cruise at the moment which ends in New York and they can get me some bits in the right colour lol!

TLSM · 09/11/2007 12:27

So is anyone going down the reusable nappy route I have decided to this time is anyone else ??

lemonaid · 09/11/2007 12:36

We did last time, TLSM -- well, up until about six months ago when our cleaner threw out () an entire pailful and I couldn't face buying a whole lot more given that DS was nearly potty-trained. Intend to do it again this time (although when I start work again and this DC goes to nursery I may just let them put disposables on him/her and just use reusables at home rather than religiously sending in reusables every day).

smcg · 09/11/2007 12:42

Re maternity leave, I am working on a contract atm and it very conveniently finishes at the end of March.

Isabella Oliver is having a knitwear sale, 20% off.

Sheds75 · 09/11/2007 12:52

we are looking at the not completely disposable nappies but ones with liners, at least we are doing something for the environment then

as for maternity leave, I was thinking 1st week in March (my edd is 02/04) but still not sure.

paranoidmummy · 09/11/2007 13:02

oh now i'm even more jealous tlsm!!! I hope it goes brill for you, please post as soon as you have had it!!! I like to live vicariously!!!

In trms of mat leave i was thinking leaving end feb as my bday is first mon in march too! due on 6th apr so thought then i get some nice relaxing me time!!

paranoidmummy · 09/11/2007 13:05

ps. pampers for me i think

ToastAddict · 09/11/2007 13:12

I'm thinking of going on mat leave at Easter (17th Marchish, I think), which gives me about 4 and a half weeks before due date.

Very keen on the idea of re-usable nappies, but really haven't looked into it yet. My friend suggested the Nappy Lady - I plan on looking into this after 20 week scan.

Have heard people say you are best using disposables for the first few weeks until you settle into the whole "having a baby" thing - anyone care to comment on this?

Enjoy your scan tlsm

lemonaid · 09/11/2007 13:13

I'm leaving end Feb -- or at least, starting maternity leave start of March and taking last few days of Feb as annual leave.

Piccalilli2 · 09/11/2007 13:18

Toastaddict, I'd use disposables for the first few days whatever else you do, meconium is evil stuff and impossible to get off anything.

Personally, I'm a disposables girl anyway I'm afraid.

I'm going on mat leave on 14th March, which should give me just over 3 weeks before due date. It feels weird because I'm already having to decline appointments at work as will be on maternity leave.

lemonaid · 09/11/2007 13:21

Lat time we used disposables in hospital but reusables as soon as we came out -- that worked out really well.

IME the Nappy Lady suggest Tots Bots to everyone -- which is fair enough, as Tots are good, but worth looking at and getting your hands on a few different types.

Soph73 · 09/11/2007 14:07

Can only get disposables here so will be using them again Am planning on starting maternity leave after the Easter Hols (I think ours finish on 28th March (my b'day), which takes me up to 3 wks before due date. With DS worked up until 2 wks before.

Soph73 · 09/11/2007 14:24
