scorpio - what about April? Is anyone else thinking of naming their daughter April? We´ve got to have at least one April surely

scorpio1 · 23/11/2007 11:58

Avril nice (French)as a middle name we think.....Am going to have persuade dp into Sienna i think.

I like Shelby but dp says no.

i just boughtthis, this, and oh yeah this

Tomorrow we are going babygro shopping!! Keep doing names, you are on the right tracks!

scampmum · 23/11/2007 12:01

For a girl we are currently

Sasha (I'm persuading DP - does someone on here have a Sasha or was it another thread?)
Ivy
Esme (I dreamt it and DP was decided instantly but I'm not sure)

for a boy

Walter John

I like Lily for a girl, too, but DP says no.

scorpio1 · 23/11/2007 12:02

does no-one like Taila then?

egyptianprincess · 23/11/2007 12:08

ive never heard Taila before...but I am a Laila myself (pronouced Lila not Layla) and my name has always served me well...

for a girl we like either Maya or Mia..DH prefers Mia but Im not so sure..I think I may be put off by what happened to Mia Farrow- irrational I know!

Soph73 · 23/11/2007 12:08

Avril´s nice scorpio, my DH has a cousin Avril. Not too sure on Taila, although it´s one of those names that would grow on me Do you pronounce it "Taylor" or "Tyler" (excuse the stupid question!)

scorpio1 · 23/11/2007 12:09

Tay-la

Soph73 · 23/11/2007 12:10

Love your name egyptianprincess. Also like Mia (just ignore the Mia Farrow bit )

Soph73 · 23/11/2007 12:11

Thanks scorpio Too preoccupied with the fact that it´s pizza for lunch in 20 mins God, I´m dreadful my whole life evolves around food

scorpio1 · 23/11/2007 12:12

I was just thinking what to have for lunch today.....

lemonaid · 23/11/2007 12:26

Trouble with Taila (which is pretty) is that I think it would get confused with Talia (plus the "do you pronounce it Taylor or Tyler?" would be a recurring question that would drive you potty within a few years). Maybe Tayla would be an easier spelling?

scorpio1 · 23/11/2007 12:27

oh yeah i dont mind the spelling, just noticed Taila first, iyswim? Tayla still pretty looking

Soph73 · 23/11/2007 12:28

I know that DS wants McDonald´s for his tea but he´s already been this month so he´s going to be one disappointed 5 yr old later!! Will have to placate him with burgers & beans at home I know that doesn´t help your lunch situation scorpio

scorpio1 · 23/11/2007 12:29

im having philly sarnie with grapes and 3 pickled onions i had kfc last night

VictorianSqualor · 23/11/2007 13:55

I know a Taylor, an Esme and a Sienna, all nice names tbh.

I love Darcy but DP doesn't, we've got either Tiffany or Charlotte for a girl I think.
I had my scan this morning, with the most wonderful sonographer in the world, ever! She was so great, gave us tons of pictures, even one of the babies hand which she typed 'fingers' on.

We didn't find out what it was, but she did say the heartbeat sounded more like a train than a horse, so I don't know if she was giving us a clueor leading us up the garden path!

I've just looked at the tickets for the gig we were going to tonight, it's next wednesday LOL, pregnancy brain hits again.
I've been to the hairdresser today and had a fringe cut, really pleased with it, plus I love the pampered feeling.

Elfsmummy · 23/11/2007 13:56

peachy - TBH I researched it to death last time I was pregnant and for every person saying it was ok there was another saying not to wear them. Back then the thought of 9 months wireless (as an F cup!!) before I even started feeding was too much so I just went for it! And for me it worked out OK, so just doing the same this time

BUT I would hate to find in 6 months time that someone was having trouble feeding and was thinking that it was due to having worn underwires during pregnancy. I would hate someone to be influenced by what I've said on this board and then end up in that scenario so Thank you for posting that up to date advise.

I've just had beans on toast for lunch and tonight is our take away night. Plus we're trying to rent pirates of the Carribean so looking forward to that. Indian or chinese - decisions decisions! Isn't it funny what gets you excited once you've had children. Its Friday night for goodness sake!

EllieG · 23/11/2007 15:06

Right. DSD's birthday at weekend and she is having a sleepover with her friend. Have got pressie's, card, paper, cake (bought not made - bad step-mummy but no time) and various activities. Is there anything have missed. I hope not am SO tired.

VictorianSqualor · 23/11/2007 15:09

Lol, Ellie, it's DD's bday saturday, and she too is having a sleepover
We have a pressie and shop made cake (wonderful but tired and pregnant mummy ), but I'm cheating for dinner and we're going to Pizza Hut, I don't like Pizza, so it's the only time everyone else gets to go, so that's the treat I've told her her wonderful stepdaddy is doing for her (well, she doesn't know yet, but thats my way of making him agree )

EllieG · 23/11/2007 15:13

We're going to pizza hut too! It's her favourite, they have no taste at 9.

VS - congrats on your scan. Oh the thought of KFC - yum! Although am still full up from all the pizza I ate at lunch time Anyway am going to love you & leave you for now. Have great weekends everyone Hope the kiddies parties are a hit

scampmum · 23/11/2007 15:35

Pizza has cheese on - we are required to eat dairy products. I think all you girls should feel very proud of yourselves. KFC slightly harder to justify but still good protein. I had a Pot Noodle last night (as an after-dinner snack) . As my favourite (honest) girl from our NCT group would say, reproachfully: 'No nutrition for Baby'.

It is amazing what gets you excited when you have kids. I am hoping for a family Nemo session tomorrow! I just had a work lunch up in Hoxton - used to be there every Friday night without fail. Quite strange and nostalgic but I can't really say I miss it that much!

Good luck with the kids' parties. I will probably be really impressed even with your shop-bought cakes when it comes to DD's 2nd birthday and I am 39+1 weeks pregnant. She'll probably be lucky if I have the energy to bend down and give her a kiss.

Oh, and I was a Pizza Hut employee througout university so watch what you say - I remain unfalteringly faithful to my former boss!

scorpio1 · 23/11/2007 15:36

well i had corn on the cob and beans, veg and protein ladies!!

mummyofaprincess · 23/11/2007 15:46

chipmonkey: yes she did know about me and LO as when i fell pregnant we told everyone at his work, she has also seen my DD loads of times before
On a better note i feel much better today LO is kicking lots and DD has been making me laugh etc all day (she keeps me on my toes)

mummyofaprincess · 23/11/2007 15:47

forgot to say thankyou so much for your support everyone as it does mean alot to me right now

scampmum · 23/11/2007 15:58

Hmm - I am wondering if perhaps there is a lesson to be learnt from Slim Scorpio here...

Mummyofaprincess - I'm a big believer in the healing power of children. Was having a terrible time at work over the last month (obviously not comparable...) and it was so much easier to forget once I got home and had my little monketypunkety on my lap/pulling my hair/poking me in the eye and finding it hysterical!
