Hello all - new thread here!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Soph73 · 20/11/2007 12:53

Morning VS - makes interesting reading those guidelines. I´m pleased to know that one of my midwives did quote the 70% statistic so at least they´re working on the same guidelines

VictorianSqualor · 20/11/2007 13:05

The bit she needs is what says
"A multivariable analysis of the NICHD study showed that there was no significant difference in the
rates of uterine rupture in VBAC with two or more previous caesarean births (9/975, 92/10,000)
compared with a single previous caesarean birth (115/16,915, 68/10,000)."

That is real evidence, the bit slightly higher than that says there is limited evidence, so I would argue that in gemprincess' position.

They cannot refuse to allow someone to attempt VBAC, However many cs's have been had, all they can do is advicse against it and make you aware of the risks. It's just a case of standing your ground and seeing what the statistics say really. And here they say that uterine rupture is not greatly increased, if at all. Which is what the consultant may try to argue with her.

Soph73 · 20/11/2007 13:07

Blimey Peachy, what are you studying?

Peachy · 20/11/2007 13:08

If you're planning a visit to the consultant, its also worth speaking to AIM's forst as they are very useful on these things, and certainly very hot on the 'you are not allowed....' behaviours of some! (association for improvements in maternity services- website available)

Peachy · 20/11/2007 13:09

MassiveMollyfloss · 20/11/2007 14:56

Happy birthday scorpio!

Soph, my stomach, legs, boobs & back all itch. I think the back is partially due to dry skin as can't reach it with moisturiser.

Paranoid: you look great in the photos! That's a fine bump. I think it's a boy!

Soph73 · 20/11/2007 15:22

Paranoid - fab photos. I think it´s a boy too My DH reckons I´m getting bigger by the day, sometimes I feel bigger sometimes I don´t
mollyfloss - pleased I´m not the only itchy person out there

paranoidmummy - you have a lovely bump and sure all will be well today x Am glad you have one, was beginning to think I was looking weirdly big as one of my friends is PG and she is teeny tiny

OP posts:
VictorianSqualor · 20/11/2007 16:32

Paranoidmummy, so far I agree with the otehrs about it being a boy, but we'll have to see how that bump progresses

paranoidmummy · 20/11/2007 18:43

OP posts:
paranoidmummy · 20/11/2007 18:52

ps. i'm intrigued by how u can guess by bump?! is it because i just look a bit mannish?! lots of extra testosterone in that one

EllieG · 20/11/2007 18:53

What would a mannish bump look like I wonder?

OP posts:
paranoidmummy · 20/11/2007 18:56

i meant just i look mannish in general!!! but a mannish bump would be a bit smelly and hairy i suspect...

paranoidmummy · 20/11/2007 18:57

'i just' not 'just i' don't know why i wrote that in latin/like yoda

EllieG · 20/11/2007 19:00

Perhaps mannish bump making you it is.

OP posts:
VictorianSqualor · 20/11/2007 19:03

It's the shape, girls are normally more all over, or they have been for me, whereas boys you look like the bump could've been stuck on, iyswim.

I just realised that exactly 7years ago today I went into labour with DD (at 29 weeks)

paranoidmummy · 20/11/2007 19:03

lol!
