Hello all - new thread here!

hey, I breastfed for nine months - so is mine!

(just underneath my bra... it's just also a way underneath my belly button )

Congratulations Lemonaid! Really can`t wait till thursday now!!

Hope everyone had a good weekend, I was away with some old uni friends and all the kids, lovely to see everyone but quite glad to come home again. 4 kids under 18/12-when onw starts crying they all cry - WTF is all that about, plus we had the older ones to entertain and for once the weather forcast was right and it did rain all of Sunday! Still we only do it a few times a year.

On the subject of sex, at the moment were 'getting it while we can' as know that in a couple of months time it will just be too much like hard work.

Had scan today and thankfully everything is good, all arms/legs/etc present and correct. The baby was in a breech position so quite difficult for the sonographer to sex it but she thought it was probably A GIRL, dam and blast we will have to endure barbie all over again. DD over the moon at the prospect of another girl and said we could then have another boy - not the heart to tell her there def wont be a 4th (Im not that brave!)

Also saw the consultant and am having elective section on the 2nd, hats off to you VBACers but it just dosent work for me and couldnt face another long labour with emergency section at the end again so Im more than happy with this decision.

DS weed in his own mouth the first day the midwife came round for a home visit and I changed his nappy...

Today I am 20 weeks, half way there, it feels great. I am getting kicks all the time. This one sure is strong and making him/her self known. Especially in the afternoons, his/her favorite time to kicking me endlessly. Now even got to feel the kicks on the outside as well as inside, despite all the fat! My uterus is higher than it should be according to the midwife. At 18weeks it was already at bellybutton, now it is even higher. Next week I have my 20 week scan, but I am really disappointed that here they have a policy of not looking at the sex of the baby. So I will not be able to find out. So instead I have booked a 3d scan for the new year to go take a look instead!

Congrats lemonaid we were lacking in the girls here so far, good to get another one.

I think 'whatever feels right for you' is the correct answer in the overwhelming majority of pregnancy/birth/parenting dilemmas! Congratulations on the scan... and on coping with four babies for a weekend!

Denny, as long as you get everything you want from your birth I'm bloody happy for you!

Have you hadan el-cs before?? Dd was em-cs but DS was el-cs if you want to know what to look forward to, or any help with your birth plan.

DD was elective for breech (as this one is funnily enough) she would not be turned, and DS was supposed to be VBAC but it all went a bit wrong and after a day and half in labour they finally decided he was stuck. My recovery from the elective one was so much better as had to have drains in following the emergency one - apparently tissues were 'oozy' from the length of time pushing so if was nearly 2 days before I was allowed out of bed which I think slowed down my recovery. (Sorry all you first timers, all of my friends have uncomplicated vaginal births). So hoping this time round will be much more straight forward again.

Oh forgot to mention in last one placenta is anterior and probably why not feeling much in the way of movement. They have a fab new scanner at hosp, and you could see so much more than last time - it was fab!

Kids are having an early night tonight

Hello ladies! I had my scan this morning - all is well and it is a GIRL!!! We wouldn't have minded either way but it's lovely to know. I have had a smile on my face all day long Tthe old wives tales were right by the way. Right, I'll just catch up on the news below.

At least you know what you're going in for then Denny and can write your birth plan accordingly. I think I'm going to write one for any possible cs, even though I want a VBA2C, there were a few things I would've wanted different, did like the surgeosn taste in music though, DS was born to 'Tired of being alone- Al Green'

VS - was fairly happy with how things went with the elective, and by the time I had the emergency one I couldnt have cared less I just wanted over . Go in for pre-op on the 1st April so should hopefully be able to discuss the options then I guess, I hope your VBA2C goes well, think there is generally a good success rate but prob sensible to have your back up plan I suppose

It's definitely a day for the girls today as I also found out I am having a girl. The sonographer said she was positive. Delighted! My dh didn't want to know and wasn't with me, of course I let it slip in two seconds flat when I phoned him. We decided not to tell our families as I think the surprise will be nice, especially for my dad, but I will really have to be careful as I have a big mouth!

Anyway, congrats Denny, Lemonaid and Mollyfloss.

congratulations ladies on your scans... I have consultant app. next tues to discuss my plans for a vbac.. Not expecting it to be a good experience and starting to wonder if worth going..

Why do you think it won't go well? So far the hospital have been very positive about mine (haven't seen the consultant yet, admittedly).

I have had 3 sections.. first 2 emergency and 3rd planned.. I was basically pushed into last one... Dreading a 4th section but obviously will not put myself or baby at risk.. Midwife laughed when told her my plans but ive done all the research so just going with it for now..Dh not sure but will back me...

Mmm, yes, I see what you mean -- they don't exactly tend to be pro-VBA3C...
