Sorry lemonaid diff remebering yesterday let alone last week

Mollyfloss - sounds like could be FM, baby could be anywhere plently of room for them to move around at the mo

EllieG · 13/11/2007 14:49

I ate loads of sweets last night and I'm sure it gave the baby a sugar rush, as tummy felt very bubbly! Was great to feel though did feel slightly guilty at poor little thing getting corresponding sugar low after.

Congratulations Peachy! Now you just have to think of a name...

PippiCalzelunghe · 13/11/2007 16:04

peachy!

mollyfloss I tend to feel it more after I've eaten. like you say possibly he/she gets the energy from it.

sagitta · 13/11/2007 16:12

Hope your LO is fine, as well as being a boy, Peachy! So your instinct was right...wonder if mine is too?

PippiCalzelunghe · 13/11/2007 16:15

and mine. we all think is a boy. no ones minds what it is but every single person has said it.
sure enough it'll be a girl. only a week before we'll know. can hardly wait.

Sheds75 · 13/11/2007 16:25

Excellent news peachy

only a few hours to go till my scan, still not sure on finding out, but very excited

ToastAddict · 13/11/2007 16:27

Yay Peachy And congrats on the interview

Re: movements - I have felt "something" for a week or so, tends to be mid afternoon to evening, just this wierd sensation a bit like a twitching muscle crossed with someone pressing me from inside. Which I know doesn't make sense, but that's how it feels.

Re: checks etc so far, I had a few scans early on, so the one at 11 weeks counted as my dating scan. I saw m/w at 10 weeks when she tested urine and did blood tests for Hb as well as HIV etc. Saw m/w again last week at 17 weeks, she should have taken bloods for AFP but I didn't want to get results whilst dh was away (in Japan for 11 days), so I am having those next week....

Had a private nuchal at 13 weeks, just as an add on to the reassurance scan we had (to make sure evrything was OK post-12 weeks)

There are national guidelines about what you should have and when, so don't be afraid to make a fuss!

Re: slings, I really fancy the close baby carrier, though would really like to have a play with one before I buy, they do look kind of fiddly? Worried I will drop the baby in the attempt to take the sling off

I've had quite bad back ache in the last few days, to the point where I almost got stuck in bed! But it's definitely at the base of my spine, which I assume means it's not SPD....

Mollyfloss · 13/11/2007 16:35

well I was pretty convinced I'm having a boy but most of the old wives tales point to a girl so who knows! I'll just have to wait another week! I really don't mind either way. Good luck with your scan Sheds and enjoy!

VictorianSqualor · 13/11/2007 16:38

Congrats Peachy, at least now your other DS's can know what they have got coming.

ToastAddict · 13/11/2007 16:39

Antenatal NICE guidelines here p20 is screening tests section

NICE only applies to England and Wales - I can track down the Scottish ones if anyone is having problems finding them.....

Peachy · 13/11/2007 17:04

DS2 wasn't impressed but ds1 is glad of another boy (less Bratxz apaprently LOL)

Mum is a bit disappointed- 7th Grandson and the last family baby so no grandaughters at all!

3madboys · 13/11/2007 17:35

congrats peachy you will have 4 boys like me

i have ds1 8, ds2 5 and ds3 will be 3 by the time baby is born i am due feb

we know that its a boy but havent told family etc, its nice keeping it to just me an dp and the whole of mumsnet and bmc

but i know dp's family are going to be disappointed that its 'another' boy

good luck ladies

Piccalilli2 · 13/11/2007 17:39

Congrats Peachy! V jealous of all of you who know what you're having, I've got to wait til a week on Thursday and it feels like forever.

Checks so far I've had 12 wk scan and bloods, had a private nuchal at the same time, then saw midwife at 15 wks for spina bifida blood test but that's it - she didn't even take my blood pressure let alone examine me! Will see the midwife at the hospital when I have my 20 wk scan, not sure after that - I think my next mw appointment might be 26 wks. It's all a bit different to last time.

I'm not feeling much from the baby at the moment but think that may just be because I'm too busy to think about it - he/she did get very excited when the cat was lying on my tummy last night - I don't know whether it was the purring or the warmth.

V1KK1M · 13/11/2007 18:31

Congrats peachy

DH is deperate for a boy so I think I will be definitely be having a girl.

I'm still not feeling much (or so I think) and I spoke ot a lady who is a week behind me and she said she can feel hers lots - I was really disappointed but I'm sure my time will come.

I've started to feel really down at the mo - my boss at work really annoys me and thinks she is really important and just drives me mad. Unfortunately with all my hormones I have a very low tolerance level at the moment

chipmonkey · 13/11/2007 19:05

Oh, congrats, Peachy! You're getting your matching set! I really want to find out on my next scan but am very nervous at the same time!

siameez · 13/11/2007 19:31

Another one for the boys list We had our 20 wk scan today, the Downs risk is halved so now less likely than average and this little man is BIG! Seems odd because I'm not very big at all but all very happy with him. How lovely to be able to say 'him' at last Congratulations to everyone else!

paranoidmummy · 13/11/2007 20:17

Huge huge congratulations everybody! I'm so happy all have had ood news and all little soldiers so far!I'm sitting here with a big smile on my face reading all this happy news.

On a down side, I hope noone is watching eastenders this wk - how depressing! I hate things like that and when i am preggers myself it is doubly bad.

In terms of appts etc have had:
4 wk scan (suspected ectopic)
6 wk scan
9 wk booking appt with midwife
11 wk nuchal scan and bloods (private)
12 wk nhs dating scan
13 wk midwife appt with bloods
16 wk midwife appt with urine tests etc
19 wk consultant appt to discuss vbac

My good lord above, writing it down makes me realise how much there has been. Its all a bit weird in my area tho - i have a midwife at my gp surgery and a community midwife plus see my consultant cos of prev c section so it all gets a bit mixed up.

Am so very nervous about 20 wk scan...

really looking forward to hearing everyone else's scan news

VictorianSqualor · 13/11/2007 20:25

I just sat an cried at it paranoidmummy!
But apparently the baby will be fine

Peachy · 13/11/2007 20:28

Hope my sister isnt watching Eastenders- her baby due next week!

paranoidmummy · 13/11/2007 20:35

oh vs, am so pleased i'm not the only one! i think dh thinks i've finally lost it. so glad baby is ok tho (i do realise its not real... honest)

VictorianSqualor · 13/11/2007 20:37

It doesnt have to be real!!! It is portraying real life situations thats enough to make me cry!
