Hello all - new thread here!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
lemonaid · 11/11/2007 10:14

I went to BabyBond in Ashford for a 3D scan at 27 weeks with DS and planning to do it again this time -- I agree, they were lovely.

VictorianSqualor · 11/11/2007 10:38

Hmm, all boys so far then.
Conrgats on those of you that know, I know I will be in two minds at my scan on friday but I'm sure I'll cope, only tingis I then have another 4scans afterwards at which I have to make sure I don't fold at!

Peachy · 11/11/2007 11:04

We should know what ours is in a few days- tuesday afternoon. I ams till convinced its a boy but everyone else thinks its a girl (DS1 thinks its the itten reincarnated in girl form.... do you think I might have passed on too much of my RE degree? ).

We're trying to get children and disabilities to put some money aside to hel DS1 adjust when baby copmes but thats a fight in itself! So not banking on that just yet LOL.

I am not sure if using disposables yet- used washables with the others, but obviously ds3 is in disposables now as we still hope that we can potty train him sooner rather than later and dont want to have big nappies specially made. The best ones we had were stuffables wraps, into which we simpy folded bog standard terries. DH likes the totsbots red fleeces, and Flame on here is good for advice (has a napy shop)- also I ahve a friend that runs a nappy company called Hempresto that's worth a look too. If I sue disposables it will be purely because of having the two in nappies- would like to use washables if I feel I can mangage it,.

TLSM · 11/11/2007 15:04

lemonaid I have booked my 4d with them at 28 weeks so the 2nd Feb!

When I say boys Buts I mean boys Bits lol!

Peachy gosh you seem to have a lot on your plate without having to think about washing nappies my DH does all the washing which is why I have chosen reusables lol!

VS good luck with that with this one I could see it was a boy before she said any thing!

Peachy · 11/11/2007 16:41

Ah Dh all the washing putting away, washing up, etc- he's really good. I cook (mainly) etc, wash, organise the kids-but he's off sick atm so having to get off my fat arse and do something for a change LOL . So we're not badly off at all, all things considered!

paranoidmummy · 11/11/2007 18:57

wow tlsm and gemprincess, that's great news for you it must be quite amazing to be able to call your bump a 'he'. i keep changing between he, she and it!

I had an NT scan at babybond in chelmsford which i thought was fantastic; they were lovely.

I've booked a 4d with them at 29wks (18th Jan)but have decided we don't want to know sex - much like you victoriansqualor it'll be tough not to fold!

ToastAddict · 11/11/2007 19:56

Paranoidmummy - could be wrong, I'm sure someone who has had a 4D scan will tell me if I am, but is it possible not to know the sex at a 4D scan? I get the impression everything is so clear, you'll really have to avert your gaze when the scanner is in that region!!

gemprincess · 11/11/2007 20:41

Everyone around me knew it was a boy... I was really sick with all my girls, ended up with hyperemesis and in hospital twice with last daughter. This time felt so well, my bump is different and the heart beat is slower so i should have known.

VictorianSqualor · 11/11/2007 22:21

Coats for pregnancy, btw, just been on another thread about it, I bought a coat in damson, with four buttons on the breast and no buttons etc anywhere else so it opens up for my belly.

PRIMARK £15!

lemonaid · 11/11/2007 23:13

They can just avoid that region altogether, ToastAddicr -- when I went last time ISTR that it was made very clear that if you didn't want to know you should tell them that from the start so that they could avoid going there...

Sheds75 · 12/11/2007 09:05

Morning all, all the weekend talk about finding out has got me all excited about my second scan on wednesday . don't mind either way just want to find out everything is ok and if they tell us if it is an innie or outie then great!

lemonaid · 12/11/2007 09:09

My scan is now in ONE WEEK . It would have been this Friday if not for DH's work schedule

Peachy · 12/11/2007 09:19

Mine's tomorrow and I am the only one (well bar DS3 who hasnt really got much of a clue little sweetie) that thinks its a boy, but I'm bound to be right as A) the sonogrpaher referred to babya s he at last scan; and B) we only have a girls name (Taya-Rose) picked out for sure.

So bound to be LOL!

Haven't even looked at girls clothes, tbh.

ToastAddict · 12/11/2007 09:33

I know that one of you lovely ladies kindly shared some discount codes for clothes a while ago - I think they were on the October thread, but I can't find them - can anyone point me in the right direction? It's the Blooming Marvellous one I'm after...... thanks x

ToastAddict · 12/11/2007 09:39

ToastAddict · 12/11/2007 09:44

Thanks lemonaid

Sheds75 · 12/11/2007 09:45

I have a slight problem with girls clothes, a major hatred of PINK, so could be a bit of an issue . but would overcome some how if 'it' turns out to be a girl.

lemonaid · 12/11/2007 09:51

DH and I have already agreed a "no pink" rule if this is a girl (will allow stuff with pink accents as otherwise the poor child will run naked in the street , and am aware that when she gets to about four we'll probably have no choice, but the French mothers at DS's nursery have managed it (apparently the French "don't do pink") until very recently and their DDs always look lovely, and often very feminine, without being in head-to-toe pink, so I am confident that it Can Be Done. Actually, she'd probably be mostly in DS's hand-me-down stuff with cars on it... ).

Sheds75 · 12/11/2007 09:56

lemonaid glad it isn't just me with the 'no pink rule' .

on a different note, I saw a tommie tippie electric steamer for £19.99 (half price) at the weekend, any advice on if these are good or not?

lemonaid · 12/11/2007 09:58

I think they are all much the same, really, so at half price I'd anap it up. Just don't try using a regular (food) steamer to sterilise and then forget you've put it on to steam and only remember when the pan has boiled dry and the stuff you were sterilising has melted all over the other pan and you can't get it off even with a chisel. Not that I know anyone who did that, of course .

Sheds75 · 12/11/2007 10:02

LOL, that is the sort of thing I would do...... nearly had boiled eggs exploding all over the kitchen last week...... nice smell

scorpio1 · 12/11/2007 10:49

i think if i had a girl it would be pink head to toe!! i am a bit fluffy and pink myself, if you know what i mean! i know baby is a boy anyway-i find out a week thursday.(22 NOV)

dp is now refusing my name choice for a boy-i will get it though! We also have a new choice....

Congrats to those who found out boys-boys are ace!

its my bday a week tomorrow, a very sober one me thinks.

i have only just got better from all that snot and sore throat, thank god.

How is everyone?

scorpio1 · 12/11/2007 10:50

Ooh and ocats for pg- i got this its really lovely and smart.

scorpio1 · 12/11/2007 10:58
